Introduction
Thank you for selecting this Smart Creata Pen™ unit.
This box contains one (1) Smart Creata Pen™ unit, one (1) SD card,
one (1) My Link & Learn Globe, one (1) Animals Around the World
Book and a User Instruction Guide.
Please read the Notice to Parents carefully before you allow your child
to use this unit. Reading through this User Instruction Guide with your
child can be a valuable learning experience.
Please discard of any packing materials such as plastic sheets, wire
ties, tags etc for your child’s safety.

Record button:
Press the record button to start recording, release when done. Then,
touch a “Record here” icon on the book or a sticker with microphone
icon to “link” with the recent recorded voice after the record button is
released. Therefore, the recorded voice can be heard by touching those
“linked” pictures later.
On/Off button:
When the unit is off, press the On/Off button turns on the unit. When the
unit is on, press the On/Off key turns off the unit.
Volume button:
Press the volume button increases one level of volume. There are total
four levels. If pressing the volume button when the level of volume is
maximum, the volume level would be dropped back to the minimum level.

• This unit requires two (2) AA batteries (Not included). We recommend
alkaline batteries.
• Open the battery compartment found on the underside of the unit.
(See Figure 1)
• Insert the batteries correctly, as indicated by the polarity symbols (+)
and (-) marked inside the battery compartment. (See Figure 2)
• Make sure to correctly replace the battery compartment door and
screw it fi rmly back in place.
Battery Precautions
• Install batteries for your child.
• Do not use rechargeable batteries.
• Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc), or rechargeable (Nickel-
Cadmium) batteries.
• Do not short circuit the supply terminals.
• Only use batteries of the same type or equivalent as recommended.
• For best operation, always use new alkaline batteries.
• Insert batteries following the correct polarity.
• Replace the batteries if the sound weakens.
• Remove exhausted or weak batteries from the unit.
• Remove batteries if you are not going to use the unit for more than
one week.
• This unit is not to be connected to more than the recommended
number of power supplies.
The normal function of this unit may be disturbed by strong Electrostatic
Discharge (ESD). Should this occur, please re-install the batteries
(See Figure 1 & 2).
Care and Maintenance
• Clean this unit with a slightly damp cloth.
• Do not use any chemical solvents or abrasives on this unit.
• Do not spill any liquids on this unit.
• Avoid dropping this unit on hard surfaces.
• Do not expose this unit to moisture or immerse it in water.
• Do not try to dismantle this unit.

Getting Started
Insert the Smart Creata Pen™ Animals Around the World Book game
cartridge into the cartridge slot of the Smart Creata Pen™ unit. Turn
this unit ON/OFF by pressing the ON/OFF button. Follow the voice
instructions to begin play. You can stick your stickers onto the globe.
Buttons on the book
“START” icon
Touch the “START” icon on page 2 of the book to begin reading the book.
“Let’s Play” icon
Touch the “Let’s Play” icon to play a game.
Trash can icon (Del.)
Touch the trash can (Del.) icon to delete single voice data. You can
delete the voice data which is “linked” with the picture by touching the
picture at fi rst and then touch the trash can (Del.) icon.
Trash can icon (Del. All)
Touch the trash can (Del. All) icon to delete all voice data. You can
delete all the voice you have recorded or linked by touching the trash
can (Del. All) icon.
