WARRANTY
STEEL CITY WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants its machines to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of
2 years from the date of the original purchase for Steel City shop machines or for a period of 1 year for Titanium
production machines; subject to the following conditions :
A- Warranty applies to the original buyer only and may not be transferred. Original proof of purchase is
required.
B- Warranty is void if repairs or alterations are made to the machine by an unauthorized service center without
the direct consent of the manufacturer or its representative.
C- Warranty does not include defects, failures or breakages directly or indirectly caused by or resulting from
improper use, improper or lack of maintenance, abuse or misuse, negligence, accidents, damages in
handling or transportation, or normal wear and tear of any part or component.
D- Accessories and wear items such as motor, switch, bearings, drive belt or other accessories are covered
for 1 year.
E- Consumables such as blades, knives, bits, sandpaper or others are not covered.
To file a warranty claim, customer may contact his dealer or email [email protected]
The manufacturer or its representative will inspect, repair or replace any part that has proven to be defective in
workmanship or material, provided that the customer sends the product prepaid to a designated authorized
service center and provides reasonable time to proceed.
If judged on warranty, the manufacturer or its representative will return the repaired product prepaid or will replace
it by a new one at its choice. On the contrary, if it is determined that there is no defect or that the problem resulted
from causes not within the scope of the warranty, it will dispose of or return the product at customer’s expenses,
following customer’s instructions.
The manufacturer or its representative shall not be held liable for any special, indirect, incidental, punitive or
consequential damages, including and without limitation loss of profits arising from or related to the warranty,
the breach of any agreement, the operation or the use of its machines.

sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other
construction activities may cause serious
and permanent respiratory or other injury,
including silicosis (a serious lung disease),
cancer, and death. Avoid breathing the dust, and avoid
prolonged contact with dust. The dust may contain
chemicals known to the State of California to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints.
• Crystalline silica from bricks, cement and other
masonry products.
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated
lumber.
Always operate tool in well ventilated area and provide
for proper dust removal. Use a dust collection system
along with an air filtration system whenever possible.
Always use properly fitting IOSH/OSHA approved
respiratory protection appropriate for the dust exposure,
and wash exposed areas with soap and water.

operational problem which may arise while using this machine. The manual will cover many of the basic
and specific safety procedures needed in an industrial environment.

during operation, which could cause severe
and permanent eye damage. Everyday
eyeglasses are NOT safety glasses.

standard Z87.1) when operating power tools.

machine and its operation.

4. Prevent electrical shock. Follow all electrical and safety
codes, including the ational Electrical Code ( EC) and
the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
(OSHA). All electrical connections and wiring should be
made by qualified personnel only.
5. ALWAYS be sure that the power switch is in the “OFF”
position and unplug the machine from the electrical
receptacle when making adjustments, changing parts or
performing any maintenance.
6. AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING. Make sure that the
power switch is in the “OFF” position before plugging in
the power cord to the electrical receptacle.
7. NEVER leave a machine running, unattended. Turn the
power switch to the OFF position. DO NOT leave the
machine until it has come to a complete stop.
8. THE SE of extension cords is not recommended for
220V equipment. It is better to position your equipment
and install the wiring to eliminate the need for an extension
cord. If an extension cord is necessary, refer to the chart
in the Grounding Instructions section to determine the
minimum gauge for the extension cord. The extension
cord must also contain a ground wire and plug pin.
9. DO NOT pull a machine by the power cord. NEVER
allow the power cord to come in contact with sharp
edges, hot surfaces, oil or grease.
10. DO NOT unplug a machine by pulling on the power
cord. ALWAYS grasp the plug, not the cord.
11. REPLACE a damaged cord immediately. DO NOT use
a damaged cord or plug if the machine is not operating
properly, or has been damaged, left outdoors or has
been in contact with water.
12. NEVER remove any chips without turning off the
machine and disconnecting the power.
13. NEVER turn on the machine if the workpiece is in
contact with the blade.
14. ENS RE that the machine sits firmly on the floor before
using. If the machine wobbles or is unstable, correct the
problem by using shims or blocks prior to operation.
15. ALWAYS keep hands and fingers away from the blades
when operating.
16. DO NOT SE the machine to perform an operation for
which it was not designed. It will be safer and provide
high quality job by only performing operations for which
the machine was intended.
17. Every work area is different. Always consider safety first,
as it applies to your work area. Use this machine with
caution. Failure to do so could result in serious personal
injury and damage to the machine.
18. DO NOT stand on a machine. Serious injury could result
if it tips over or you accidentally contact any moving part.
19. DO NOT store anything above or near the machine.
20. REMOVE ALL MAINTENANCE TOOLS from the
immediate area prior to turning the machine O .
21. MAINTAIN your balance. DO NOT extend yourself over
the tool. Wear oil resistant rubber soled shoes. Keep
floor clear of debris, grease, and wax.
22. DO NOT operate any machine or tool if under the
influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
23. MAINTAIN all machines with care. ALWAYS KEEP
the machine clean and in good working order. KEEP all
blades and tool bits sharp and free of all rust and pitch.
24. EACH AND EVERY time, check for damaged parts prior
to using any machine. Carefully check all guards to see
that they operate properly, are not damaged, and
perform their intended functions. Check for alignment,
binding or breakage of all moving parts. Any guard or
other part that is damaged should be immediately
repaired or replaced. Check material for loose knots.
25. Safety decals are on this machine to warn and direct
you to how to protect yourself or visitors from personal
injury. These decals M ST be maintained so that they
are legible. REPLACE decals that are not legible.
26. KEEP protective guards in place and in working order.
27. Check material for loose knots, nails and other defects.
28. ALWAYS keep the work area clean, well lit, and
organized. DO NOT work in an area that has slippery
surfaces. Keep floor clear of debris, grease, and wax.
29. SEC RE all work. When it is possible, use clamps or
jigs to secure the workpiece. This is safer than
attempting to hold the workpiece with your hands.
30. STAY ALERT, watch what you are doing, and use
common sense when operating any machine. DO NOT
operate any machine tool while tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
31. SE ONLY recommended accessories. Use of incorrect
or improper accessories could cause serious injury to
the operator and cause damage to the machine. If in
doubt, DO NOT use it.
32. Wear proper clothing, DO NOT wear loose clothing,
gloves, neckties, or jewelry. These items can get caught
in the machine during operations and pull the operator
into the moving parts. Users must wear a protective
cover on their hair, if the hair is long, to prevent it from
contacting any moving parts.
33. Keep visitors and children away from any machine.
DO NOT permit people to be in the immediate work
area, especially when the machine is operating.
34. DO NOT use a machine as a toy.
35. DO NOT use electrical tools in the presence of
flammable liquids or gasses.
36. SAVE these instructions and refer to them frequently
and use them to instruct other users.
37. Establish a SAFETY ZONE around shop machinery.
A clearly defined “no-go” zone on the floor around each
machine. Take a few moments to either paint (using
non-slip paint) or using tape, define on the floor the limits
or perimeter of each machines safety zone.

1. Inspect belt and disc before starting the sander. A
damaged abrasive can cause injuries. Replace any worn
or damaged abrasive.
2. Sanding surfaces can cause injuries rapidly. Keep hands
and fingers away from sanding surfaces at all times
during operation.
3. Small workpieces should be held by appropriate jigs or
device while sanding. Do not sand small or thin pieces
that you cannot safely control.
4. Sanding dust represents a health hazard. Do not operate
the sander without adequate dust collection system
running. Wear eye protection. Use respiratory protection
if appropriate.
5. Do not sand any material other than wood.

In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, GRO NDING
provides the path of least resistance for electric current and
reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug M ST be
plugged into a matching electrical receptacle that is
properly installed and grounded in accordance with ALL
local codes and ordinances.
If a plug is provided with your machine DO NOT modify the
plug. If it will not fit your electrical receptacle, have a
qualified electrician install the proper connections to meet
all electrical codes. All connections must also adhere to all
of OSHA mandates.
IMPROPER ELECTRICAL CONNECTION of the
equipment-grounding conductor can result in risk of electric
shock. The conductor with the green insulation (with or
without yellow stripes) is the equipment-grounding
conductor.
DO NOT connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a
live terminal if repair or replacement of the electric cord or
plug is necessary.
Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if you
do not completely understand the grounding instructions,
or if you are not sure the tool is properly grounded.

To reduce the risk of fire or electrical
shock, use the proper gauge of extension
cord. When using an extension cord, be
sure to use one heavy enough to carry the
current your machine will draw.

The smaller the gauge-number, the larger the diameter of
the extension cord is. If in doubt of the proper size of an
extension cord, use a shorter and thicker cord. An
undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting
in a loss of power and overheating.

If you are using an extension cord outdoors, be sure it is
marked with the suffix “W-A” (“W” in Canada) to indicate
that it is acceptable for outdoor use.
Make certain the extension cord is properly sized, and in
good electrical condition. Always replace a worn or
damaged extension cord immediately or have it repaired by
a qualified person before using it.
Protect your extension cords from children, sharp objects,
excessive heat, and damp or wet areas.
SE ONLY a 3-wire extension cord that has
a 3-prong grounding plug and a 3-pole
receptacle that accepts the machine’s
plug.The third prong is used to ground the
tool and provide protection against
accidental electric shock. DO NOT remove the third.
◊ MAGNETIC SAFETY SWITCH
If the machine is equipped with a magnetic safety switch
you must to reset the overload protection switch after an
overload.
1. Remove the control box cover.
2. Press the reset button.
3. Reinstall the control box cover.

NPACKING AND INVENTORY
◊ CLEANING
Anti-corrosive oil is applied to the machine before
shipment. After unpacking, clean the anti-corrosive oil
with soft cloths and appropriate cleaning product such
as WD-40. Do not use lacquer thinner, acetone or other
volatile solvents, as they can damage painted surfaces.

◊DUST PORT
1. Slide rabbet dust port on side of the machine.
2. Thread the 6 round head flange screws in the machine
frame.
◊DISC TABLE
1. Slide the disc table trunnions on the guides of the frame.
2. Lock the table in place with the indexable levers and
washers (front and rear).
2. Install the indexable lever and washer in the other hole
and lock the table in place.
◊ BELT TENSION LEVER
1. Screw the lock nut on the threaded tension lever.
2. Look for the threaded hole of the rolling element bearing.

◊ BELT TABLE
1. Unscrew the stud and position the table bracket over the
hole. Reinstall the stud.

3. Screw the lever in the threaded hole, grip the handle
and tighten the lock nut against the cone.
ADJ STMENTS
◊SQ ARING
1. Loosen the lock levers, place a precision square on the
table and correct the squareness of the table. Lock
levers.
Tune the belt table and the miter gauge in the same
manner.
◊ CHANGING BELT
1. Remove both knobs
holding the protective
cover in place.
2. Pull the lever with your left hand to release tension and
with the right hand remove the belt.

Make certain that machine is disconnected
from the power source.

2. Turn by hand the abrasive disc and observe the belt
movement on the upper wheel to determine in which
direction is the problem:
◊TRACKING THE ABRASIVE BELT
The belt should run centered on the wheel. If the belt
shifts to one side or the other of the wheel, tracking has
to be fine tuned.

3. If a same width belt is to be installed, do reverse
operation.
4. For different width belt, remove the socket screw and
the platen.
5. Install the right width
platen and thread the
socket screw by hand.
6. Pull the lever and put the new belt in place.
7. Slide the platen to the belt and press it against. The
platen have to be parallel to the belt without deforming
it nevertheless.
8. Maintain the belt and the platen in this position with one
hand and with the other, lock the socket screw with an
Allen key.
9. Reinstall the cover.
1. Loosen the lock nut of the belt tracking bracket.
3. Turn again the disc by hand and fine tune the
adjustment of the upper wheel to obtain correct
tracking.
4. Plug in the sander. Flip the On/Off switch quickly to
check the tracking. If correct, turn it on for few seconds
to confirm adjustment is good. Fine tune adjustment if
required.
5. Lock the lock nut while maintaining the socket screw.
►The belt shifts to the left:
loosen the socket screw.
►The belt shifts to the
right: thread the socket
screw.
NOTE : A directional arrow is sometimes printed on the
inside of some belts. In such cases, the belt must be
installed so the arrow is in the same direction than the
rotation of the sander, printed on the top of the belt
cover.

◊ DUST COLLECTION
Sanding dust is considered a health hazard. Do not
operate the sander without adequate dust collection
system running.
For safer working environment, better sanding
performance and better tool life, the sander has 2 dust
ports Ø1 ½” to connect to dust collection system.
◊SANDING DISC REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the table and the three screws of the disc
safety cover and remove it.
2. Peel off the old abrasive disc.
3. Clean the aluminium disc.
4. Carefully position the new abrasive disc so it is centered
accurately on the aluminium disc.
5. Press the abrasive disc firmly against the aluminium
disc so complete adhesive contact is made. Replace
safety cover and table.
MAINTENANCE
Blow air and clean all of the saw dust. Remove the
covers to make sure it is really cleaned. Remove any
gums, resins or other residues.
To extend the abrasive life, clean them frequently with a
belt cleaner.
◊ DISC
For cleaning purpose, it can be necessary to remove the
aluminium disc.
1. Remove the guard cover, the disc table and the
dust port.
2. Loosen the 2 socket screws that secure the frame
around the disc. Slide it towards the disc.
3. Make turn the disc to see the set screw in the face of the
opening situated behind the framed disc. Loosen the
set screw with an allen wrench 3 mm.
4. Pull the disc towards the outside.
5. When reinstalling the disc, make sure the key is
correctly placed in the keyway of motor shaft. Install the
disc and tighten the screw firmly.
