Pairing your phone
Prior touse ttie Steelmate Bluetooth carkit with yourphoneforthe first time,youmustinitially
pairbothdevices. Please followthestepsbelow:
1.Holdboth+ and- buttonsfor 1 second,thekitwillbeeponce with yellowLEDblinks.This
putsthesystemintopairingmodefor3 minutes.
2. Searchforperipherals(consultyourphone'suserguide).
3. Select "STEEL-MATEOI" inthelistofthephone.
4. Enter"0000"onyourphonewhenprompted.
Hold "+"and"-"buttonThemicroptionebeeps
for 1 secondonce,theyellowLEDblinks

Note:
1.Somephonesofcertainbrandsmayrequiremanualconnection.Ifanotherphoneneedsto
be paired with thekit,youneedtodisconnectthecurrentconnection first, andthenrepeatthe
operationsabove.
2. Thesystemcanbepairedupto8 devices.Topairtheninthdevice,the first paireddevice
willbedeletedautomatically.
3. ForNOKIAusers:Ifyouwantthekittoconnectautomatically,youmustselecteditdevice,
select the "STEEL-MATEOI" andchangedefaultto:DeviceAuthorised"yes"orConnAuth "yes".
Nexttime,whenyouenterthecar,yourphonewillbeautomaticallyconnectedtothekit.

Connecting
Turnignitionon,thesystemwillsearchandconnect with thepairedphoneautomatically.If
thesystemcan'tdetectthelastpaireddevice,itwilltrytoconnect with thepenultimatepaired
device andsoon.Ifthesystemstillcan'tfindanypre-paireddevicewithin90seconds,itwill
turn offautomatically.
To connectthephoneafter90seconds,youneedtoconnectthephonemanuallyasbelow:

Operation
1. Making a call
1)Makinga callfromthephone
Once yourphoneisconnected with thekit,
enterthenumberyouwanttodialandpress
thedialbuttononthephone.
2)Voicedial
By shortpressingtheC buttontoactivatethe
voice dialfunction,thesystembeepsonce.
Speak outthenameofthepersonyouwish
to call. Thesenamesmustbepre-recordedon
thephone.Followtheinstructionsinyourphone
user's manualonhowtorecordthevoiceprints
onyourphone.
3)Redial
To redialthelastcallednumber,pressthe/*
buttontwice.
2. Rejecting a call
Shortpressthe« buttontorejectanincoming
call.
3.Autoor manual answering selection
You canselectautoormanualansweringwhen
yourphoneisconnected.
1)Toswitchfrommanualansweringtoauto
answering;
Press - button for2 seconds,theBluetooth
car kitconfirmstheautoansweringison with
^a longbeep.
2)Toswitchfromautoansweringtomanual
answering:
Press - buttonfor2 seconds,theBluetooth
car kitwillbeepthreetimestoconfirmthe
manualansweringison.

4.Receivinga call
An incomingcallisindicatedbya ringtoneand
theLEDindicatorflashingquicklyonthe
Bluetoothcarkit.
1)Ifautoansweringmodeisselected:
The Bluetoothcarkitwillanswerthecall
automaticallyafterringingorvibratingforabout
10seconds.
2)Ifmanualansweringmodeisselected:
Press the^ button oncetoanswerthe call.
The carstereowillbemutedautomaticallyand
thecallwillbereproducedthroughthevehicle's
front speaker.
5. Private call
Duringa call, ifyouwanttocontinuethe
conversationonyourphone(private
conversation), pressthe+ buttonfor2seconds
ontheBluetoothcarkit,thecallistransferred
tothephone.
To getthecallbacktothekit, pressthe+
buttonfor2 secondsagain.

6.Disconnecting from kit
Ifyouenterthecarandyoudonotwantany
phonecallsinhandsfreemode, just press
the« buttonfor2 secondsandtheBluetooth
car kitwillbe disconnected. Whencallscome
in, theywillonlybetransferredtothephone.
To manuallyconnectagain,presstheC
buttononceor turn theignitionoffandon
again.
7. Volume adjustment
The soundvolumeinthevehiclecanbe
increased ordecreasedduringthecallby
shortpressingthe+ button(forincreasing
thevolume)andthe- button (forreducing
thevolume).
8.Microphone mute:
Duringa call, ifyoudonotwanttheperson
attheotherendofthelinetohearyou,hold
the\n for2 seconds,themicrophone
willbemuted.
Hold the\n for2 secondsagainto
cancel themute.
9.Ending a call
To enda conversation,pressthe« button,
thecarstereowillautomaticallycomeback
on.
10.Audio streaming:
This functionwillletyouplaythemusicfiles
onyourphoneoverthevehicle'sspeaker
(Thisfeaturedependsontheaudiostreaming
compatibilityofyourphone).
