The red LED (high voltage warning)
will illuminate if alternator voltage is
between 16.0 to 16.5V and over (12V
unit) or 32.0 to 33.0V and over (24V
unit). WARNING only given for high
voltage at alternator, this is an event
we cannot protect for. If this WARNING
is given the engine should be shut
down immediately and should be
investigated and the high voltage
source should be identified and
rectified. In the event of spike
protection being engaged there is no
event LED to indicate this due to it’s
extremely high voltage and extremely
low duration. The device will simply do
its job and protect the alternator. The
warning is more for a long term voltage
fault. I.e. if the alternator’s own
regulator fails for normal reasons and
the alternators voltage rises the LED
will simply warn of the high voltage at
the alternator, this device cannot
actually stop the high voltage

The is a highly effective alternator protection device which prevents high
voltage back EMF spikes destroying your alternator’s expensive regulator and internal
diode pack. The prevents extreme damage occurring to your main and
auxiliarysystem devices.Most commonfaults whichcause thisproblem are:
1)Loose wirescausing analternator wireto becomeundone /loose causingsparking.
2)Failure ina splitdiode/relay chargingsystem, opencircuiting thissystem.

All the above events could easily destroy your alternator’s sensitive parts, this device will
prevent this by diverting any high spike build up to earth, this is effective from full power
to no power fault events on the alternator.

Most alternator regulators and internal diode
packs will be damaged by spikes in excess of 40V. The is designed to absorb
spikesin excessof 18V(12V) and36V (24Vsystems).

Installation:
Simply connect the positive / negative output connection from the to the positive / negative output of the alternator. It’s
always best to connect the ring terminal to the inside of the bolts of the alternator’s main power cables. I.e. there will
already be the main alternator outputs on the alternator’s stud. For maximum protection remove the main cables and place the
protection device on the bolt shaft first, then add the main cables after (thus sandwiching in the protection cable). If the tensioning
nut on the main cable becomes loose the main cable will fall off first leaving the protection device on the alternator, this will save the
alternator.Ifthe cable ison topof thelive cable(not heldin bythe live cable)then, whenthe cable fallsoff, the
alternatorwill notbe protected.
In the event there are no nuts then it’s up to the installer to connect the wires as close as possible to the alternator’s main power

eine Warnleuchte angeschlossen, sollte dieser
ertönen oder diese aufleuchten.
Wir raten Ihnen dringend den Motor abzustellen
und die Ursache für die hohe Spannung
festzustellen.
Absorbierte Spannungsspitzen werden nicht
angezeigt und geben keinen Alarm, da es zu

Lichtmaschinen Überspannungsschutz
Das ist bietet einen effektiven Überspannungsschutz der Lichtmaschine
und verhindert damit die Zerstörung des eingebauten Reglers und der Dioden,
solange kein Defekt des Reglers selbst vorliegt. Gleichzeitig verhindert es
Spannungsspitzen, welche von der Lichtmaschine erzeugt werden und welche dann
elektronische Geräte zerstören können.
Oftmals kommt es zu Problemen mit Überspannung durch folgende Ursachen:
1) Die Ladekabel sind lose und es kommt zu Unterbrechungen.
2) Defekte Trenndioden, Ladestromverteiler oder Relais.
3) Unterbrechung der Ladestromversorgung durch Fehlbedienung.
4) Defekter Batterie-Wahl-Schalter oder defekter Hauptschalter.
5) Defekte Sicherungen im Ladestromkreis.

Das Pro Protect begrenzt den Spannungsanstieg an dem Ausgang der Lichtmaschine
und verhindert dadurch eine Zerstörung der internen Dioden und des internen
Reglers.

Installation:
Das Pro Protect wird direkt mit den Ladeausgängen der Lichtmaschine verbunden. Verwenden Sie dafür ein 2,5 mm² Kabel. Am
besten ein rotes und ein schwarzes 2,5 mm² Kabel. Suchen Sie sich einen Platz für das ProProtect, welcher so dicht wie
möglich an der Lichtmaschine sein sollte. Das rote (positive) Kabel vom ProProtect wird dann mit dem positiven Ladeausgang
der Lichtmaschine verbunden. Dabei sollte darauf geachtet werden, dass das ProProtect Kabel als erstes auf dem Anschluss
liegt (Ringterminal des ProProtect ganz unten auf dem Anschluss). Das schwarze Kabel des ProProtect wird mit dem Minus-
Ausgang der Lima verbunden. Ist kein Minus-Ladeausgang vorhanden, dann wird das schwarze Kabel direkt mit dem Gehäuse
der Lichtmaschine verbunden. Wichtig ist, dass das Gerät so direkt wie möglich an der Lichtmaschine angeschlossen wird.
Nur dann kann es die gewünschte Schutzfunktion erfüllen.
Externer Alarm:
Zusätzlich können Sie einen externen
Alarm anschließen. Dazu verbinden Sie
einen Anschluss der unteren Kontakt-
klemmen mit Minus und den anderen
Anschluss verbinden Sie mit einem
Summer oder einer Kontrollleuchte und
dann mit Plus. Im Falle eines Alarms
kommt es zur Aktivierung dieses

Le est un appareil de protection très efficace de l ’alternateur, il évite les problèmes liés aux
surtensions susceptibles de détruire le système de régulation de l ’alternateur ou ses diodes internes. Il peut
éviter des dommages extrêmes survenant aux appareils auxiliaires ou principaux. Les situations les plus
fréquentescréant cetype deproblèmes sontles suivantes:
1) Un câble qui se libère entraînant une déconnexion d ’un câble d ’alternateur, les câbles libres créant des
étincelles.
2)Un défautdans unrépartiteur àdiode ouun relais,déconnectant unepartie dusystème électrique.
3)Une personnequi coupele circuitélectrique alimentépar le moteurpendant quele moteurfonctionne.
4)Défection d ’unsélectionneur rotatif debatteries créantainsi desarcs pendantla rotation

Si l ’un des événements précédents peut détruire des parties essentielles de votre alternateurs, l ’appareil
évitera cette situation en ramenant tout pic de tension à la terre, Ceici est utile lorque l ’on passe d ’un état ou
l ’alternateur débite au maximum à un état ou il se retrouve en circuit ouvert. La plupart des régulateurs
d’alternateurs et des systèmes de diode internes sont endommagés par des pics de tension dépassant 40 V. Le

Installation:
Connecter simplement les sorties positive / negative de aux sorties positive / negative de l ’alternateur. Il est toujours
préférable de placer la cosse de connexion du à l ’intérieur du boulon de connexion du câble principal de l ’alternateur.
Le câble de sortie est monté d’origine sur le boulon de l’alternateur, pour une meilleure protection, enlever le câble principal, placer
le câble de l’appareil en premier, et remettre le câble principal sur le boulon de connexion puis l ’écrou, prenant en sandwiche le
câble de protection. Si la liaison sur le câble principal se desserre, le câble principal tombera le premier et laissera l ’appareil de
protection en contact avec l ’alternateur et le protégera. S ’il n ’y a pas d ’écrou sur l ’alternateur, l ’installateur placera l ’appareil
leplus prèspossible dela sortieprincipale del ’alternateur.
