STL VK Series Professional Germicidal Air Processors
Congratulations on your purchase of STL’s latest VK series professional
germicidal air processor, providing your environment with round the clock
germicidal protection.
According to studies, germ-laden droplets expelled by people with bacterial or
viral infections when they breathe, talk, cough, or sneeze can remain
suspended in the air for some 45 minutes. When inhaled these can potentially
cause life threatening infections.
STL's newest VK series of air processors use powerful Philips Sterilamp® UVC
lamps to kill over 99.9% of air borne bacteria and viruses in the air processed.
Minimal power consumption means the units can be kept running 24/7 to
provide nonstop protection in the home, clinic, restaurant, school, shop, or
office.
Please read these instructions and precautions carefully before using the
product.
EFFECTIVENESS
Bacteria and viruses passing through STL’s VK3000 are exposed to over
480 W s/m2of UVC power (this number is known as the Effective Dosage). For
reference, below are the Effective Dosages needed to kill 99.9% of several
commonly found bacteria and viruses*:
Dysentery
65.8 W s/m2
Tuberculosis
181.8 W s/ m2
E. Coli
89.7 W s/m2
Salmonella
119.1 W s/m2
Hepatitis A
215.9 W s/m2
Influenza
107.9 W s/m2
Rotavirus
246.7 W s/m2
* Based on data provided by Philips

Rhinovirus es (those that cause the common cold) and coronaviruses are also
effectively destroyed by the strong UVC dosage.
The effectiveness of UVC against such common bacteria and viruses is why
professionally installed UVC systems are often found in hospitals for
disinfecting rooms.
CAUTION
WARNING: The unit is designed to limit the amount of UVC emitted outside the
unit to safe levels. However, do not look directly into the top or bottom
openings within 6 inches of the unit, as prolonged exposure to the low levels
can still cause injury particularly to the eyes. Take precautions to avoid children
and babies from looking up inside the air inlet.
Never attempt to open the unit. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
Attempts to open the unit, particularly with the unit turned on, can cause
severe injury. The warranty is voided if attempts are made to open the unit.
Please contact STL if you believe your device is malfunctioning.
Do not allow children to climb onto the unit, as this may cause the unit to
topple over and result in severe injury. Always use this unit on a flat level
surface.
The unit is designed to be placed with its back against a wall.
Do not place any items on the unit as this will block the air flow and reduce the
effectiveness of the unit.
Do not pour any liquids into the unit as this will increase the risk of
electrocution.
Protect the cord from being stepped on or pinched. Do not use the unit if the
cord becomes damaged. Do not attempt to replace the cord by yourself.
This unit is intended for indoor use only. Do not expose to rain.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The unit is extremely easy to use and does not require any user adjustment.
Simply plug it into the wall socket, turn on the switch at the plug, and the unit
will operate. Check to make sure there is air flowing out from the top of the
unit.
For best performance, we recommend that the unit be placed where the air
flow is not blocked, and where there is the greatest number of people (for
example near the sitting area in a waiting room).
Please note the unit is designed to be placed with its back against a wall.
MAINTENANCE
The unit is designed to operate continuously without need for user
maintenance. There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit. Apart from
authorized technicians, the cabinet must not be opened as there are strong

UVC emitters inside the unit that can cause serious injury to eyes and exposed
skin.
For routine cleaning, wipe the cabinet with a damp cloth with a little bit of dish
washing detergent.
Once a month use a vacuum cleaner installed with a soft brush head:
-Turn off power and vacuum the bottom air inlet of the unit.
-Turn on power and vacuum the top air exit surface of the unit.
Never spray or submerge the unit in water. Do not attempt to open the unit to
clean the inside.
If there is unusual noise from the unit, unplug the unit from the AC power.
Examine the air outlet on the top of the unit and remove any foreign objects
that may have lodged inside. Use a vacuum cleaner to clear any dust or foreign
objects that may be blocking the top air outlet or bottom air inlet.
