OVERVIEW:
The
installation
of
Kit
(120-500)
provides
the
MEA-1500-0/-0-4
with
the
optional
Turbo
182
dot
matrix
printer.
This
Kit
is
complete
with
printer,
paper,
and
all
hardware
needed
for
installation.

INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE:

USE

PRECAUTIONS
WHILE
PERFORMING
THIS
PROCEDURE
1.
Turn
tester
"OFF"
and
remove
AC
plug
from
the
outlet.
2.
Press
down
on
the
rear
of
the
printer
shelf
(located
just
below
the
analog
scope
controls).
Remove
the
shelf
by
pulling
forward
and
lifting.
3.
If
the
unit
has
a
tip
tray
cover
remove
the
two
nuts
exposed
on
the
bottom
of
this
shelf,
and
remove
the
cover
plate
from
the
shelf.
Discard
this
cover
plate.
If
the
unit
doesn't
have
the
tip
tray
cover,
proceed
to
the
next
step.

Using
the
Printer
Shelf
as
a
template,
make
a
mark
on
the
rear
wall
of
the
Printer
compartment
at
the
location
of
the
cable
cut-away
on
the
shelf.
Using
a
§""
nut
driver,
Loosen
the
screw
that
holds
the
cover
plate
located
on
the
lower
left-hand
corner
of
the
rear
wall
of
the
printer
paper
compartment.
Remove
the
printer
from
its
packing.
Remove
the
top
cover
of
the
printer
by
lifting
the
back
side
and
pivoting
it
forward.
Remove
the
cardboard
retainer
that
keeps
the
print
head
in
place.
Place
the
printer
on
the
printer
shelf.
Using
the
screws
(0408-0077),
flat
washers
(0400-0378-04),
and cap
nuts
(0407-0002),
mount
the
printer
on
the
Printer
Shelf.

1)

Remove
the
two
retaining
screws
from
the
Power
Supply
"drawer"
(located
in
the
lower
right
hand
side
of
the
tester
as
viewed
from
the
rear)
and
pull
it
open.
Remove
the
two
retaining
screws
from
the
front
Circuit
Card
Assembly
(C.C.A.)
drawer,
and
pull
it
open.
On
the
Digital
Electronics
Board
(7001-0604/-0604-02),
flip
switch
number
4
of
SW-1
to
the
"ON"
position
to
activate
the
printer
option.
Route
the
small
end
of
the
ribbon
cable,
W14,
(7076-0526)
and
the
"Fast-on"
end
of
the
AC
Power
Cable
(6001-0176)
through
the
hole
in
the
rear
of
the
paper
compartment
and
into
the
power
supply
compartment.
Push
the
small
cover
plate
down
so
that
it
is
snug
on
the two
cables
and
tighten
the
screw.
From
the
rear
of
the
tester,
route
the
ribbon
cable
up
through
the
front
hole
in
the
compartment
ceiling,
into
the
front
C.C.A.
drawer
compartment.
From
the
front
of
the
tester,
route
the
ribbon
cable
along
the
outside
edge
of
the
Analog
scope
board,
then
across
the
front
to
connector
J114
on
the
Digital
Electronic
Board,
making
sure
the
red
stripe
on
the
ribbon
cable
is
closest
to
pin
1
of
J114.
NOTE:
Leave
enough
slack
in
the
cable
near
the
side
of
the
cabinet
to
allow
the
sliding
of
the
drawer.

In
the
Power
Supply
drawer,
fasten
the
Blue
wire
of
the
AC
cable
to
the
left
hand
terminal
of
the
AC
Terminal
Block.
Fasten
the
Brown
wire
of
the
AC
cable
to
the
center
terminal
of
the
AC
Terminal
Block.
Fasten
the
Green
wire
of
the
AC
cable
to
the
Ground
Stud,
located
just
below
the
tester's
AC
cable.
Place
the
printer
paper
(0528-0994)
in
the
paper
tray.
Connect
the
AC
and
Ribbon
cable
to
the
rear
of
the
Printer.
Taking
care
not
to
pinch
the
cables,
set
the
Printer/Shelf
Assembly
in
place.
Attach
a
Cable
Mount
(5878-0902)
to
the
rear
wall
of
the
printer
compartment
where
the
mark
was
made
previously.
Strap
the
two
cables
to
the
mount
with
Cable
Ties
(5878-0015).
(By
mounting
the
cable
mount
as
such,
the
printer
and
tray
may
be
removed
from
the
tester
after
disconnecting
the
ribbon
and
AC
Cables
without
removing
any
cable
ties.)
Using
the
remaining
cable
mounts
and
ties,
tie
the
cables
down
as
needed
to
keep
them
from
interfering
with
movement
of
either
drawer.
Push
in
both
drawers
and
re-install
the
retaining
screws.

Plug
A/C
Power
cord
into
wall
outlet
and
turn
the
Tester's
A/C
power
switch
"ON".
28.
Turn
the
Power
switch
of
the
printer
(located
on
the
right
hand
side)
to
the
"ON"
position.
The
Print
Head
should
move
to
the
home
position.
29.
Press
the
"Print"
button
on
the
Remote
Control.
The
copyright
page
should
be
printed.
