Ordering Rackmount Kits
The Netra™ st D130 storage enclosure is shipped out of the factory with
two 19-inch mounting brackets, which can be used to install the enclosure
into most 19-inch racks. Refer to the Netra st D130 Product Notes for
instructions on installing the storage enclosure with these brackets.
If you need to install the enclosure into a 23-inch, 24-inch, or 600 mm rack,
or if you prefer to use rack slide mounts, you must order a separate
rackmount kit from Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Installing the Thumbscrew Rack Brackets
The rackmount kits listed in Table 1 contain documentation describing
how to install the storage enclosure into a rack. However, you must first
replace the factory installed mounting brackets with the thumbscrew rack
brackets included in the Netra st D130 storage enclosure ship kit.
1. Unscrew the two screws that secure each mounting bracket to the
side of the storage enclosure and remove the brackets.
Retain these screws for Step 2.

2. Secure each thumbscrew rack bracket to the side of the storage
enclosure using the screws saved from Step 1.

Caution - If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating
ambient temperature of the rack environment may exceed the room ambient.
Ensure that rack environment ambient temperature does not exceed 55
degrees Celsius (130 degrees Fahrenheit).
Caution - Mounting of the equipment in a rack or cabinet should be such
that a hazardous condition is not created due to uneven mechanical loading
or weight distribution.
Caution - Ensure that the connection of multiple system units to the circuit
does not overload the supply overcurrent protection or supply wiring.
Consider the Sun product nameplate electrical ratings when determining the
correct branch circuit rating for your installation.
