WARNING

NOTE:
Hooks and straps are used to store your reel indoors as needed or at the end of your swimming season.
Tube Kit Assembly:
Tube kit consists of 3 smaller diameter and 2 large diameter tubes.
-Insert small tube into large tube and telescope it to fit your size pool.
Please Note: There are 2 size model reels.
Model: #475175
For above ground pools up to 21ft. wide. If your pool is 21ft. wide, solar cover must be placed offset
center. For 18ft. wide oval pools, solar reel must be placed offset just passed the radius portion of the
pool.
Model: #475179
If your pool is 24ft. wide, solar reel must be placed offset center. For 21ft. wide oval pools, solar reel
must be placed offset just passed the radius portion of the pool.

-With tubes laid out on a flat surface, make sure you have 9” minimum overlap of tubes.
-Start 3” in from end of each tube; drill pilot hole using 1/8” drill bit.
-Insert screw (L) in pre-drilled pilot hole, repeat this on the opposite side of the same tube.
-Repeat the step above 3 more times on each overlapping section to secure tube assembly.
Hub to Tube Assembly:
-Once tubes are assembled and secure, slide the hubs (B) onto each end of the tube assembly.
-Pre-drill pilot hole using 1/8” drill bit
-Using screws (L) provided attached hub to tubes, as indicated in the diagram below.

Wheel to Hub Assembly
-With hub attached to tube and secured
-Slide turning wheel (A) onto hub (B); attach with screws (N) provided
Reel Placement and Base Attachment to Pool
-Locate on top rail where reel will be installed.
-Ensure that no obstructions will interfere with reel base placement.
-Place base mount on top rail.
NOTE:
Model: #475175
For above ground pools up to 21ft. wide. If your pool is 21ft. wide, solar cover must be placed offset

NOTE:
Rail attachment
brackets should be mounted so
that base slides toward pool water.
-Drill pilot hole for brackets.
-Insert screws (M) provided to attach base to top rail.
Yolk & Bearing Casing/Pins
-Place yolk (C) into base mounted to the top rail
-Insert bearing pins (G) inside casing tube (F). Place completed bearings in yolk slots.
Attaching Straps to The Tube Assembly
-Remove tube assembly from pool; place on a flat surface.
-Measure 8” in from each end of hub towards center of tube.
-Pre-drill using 1/8” drill bit
-Attach strap using screw (L).
NOTE:
This will be your starting point for strap attachment.
-Repeat step above 6 more times using 1 screw (L) per strap, equally spacing remainder of straps.

Attaching Cover to Straps
-Re-install tube assembly on base.
-With cover laying on pool water, make mark on cover with tape or marker just below where reel
will be set on top rail across the pool.
-Remove solar cover along with tube assembly. Set on ground and lay tube assembly over cover
to make attaching easier.
-Where mark has been made on cover, pinch pleat cover to attach strap (H) with cover clip (I),
approximately 1” from pleat.
-Using Philips head screwdriver, poke hole through plate opening and cover.
-Attach clip (I) and strap (H) to cover using nylon bolts (K) and nuts (J).

NOTE:
Once straps and clips are attached, you will notice cover goes beyond reel tube. To remedy this, you will
fold flaps inward so cover will now fit the tube size. Proceed to roll cover up on tube. Return tube
assembly back to base on top rail.
Your solar reel is now ready for use!
Maintenance:
-When cover is not in use, it must be stored out of the sun and heat exposure.
-If cover and reel are not in use for extended period of time, they should be rinsed and then
dried to remove chemical residue.
-Check hardware periodically to ensure it is working properly. Tighten or replace as needed.
