1 Year Limited Warranty
Sunbeam Products, Inc. doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions or if in Canada, Sunbeam
Corporation (Canada) Limited doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions (collectively “JCS”)
warrants that for a period of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from
defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any
component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be
made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available,
replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive
warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this
product. Doing so will void this warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase
and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain
warranty performance. JCS dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not
have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the
following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use
contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than
JCS or an authorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God,
such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.
What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?
JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any
express, implied or statutory warranty or condition.
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the
above warranty.
JCS disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory
or otherwise.
JCS shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of,
or inability to use the product including incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or
loss of profits, or for any breach of contract, fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought
against purchaser by any other party.
Some provinces, states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
• Use iron only for its intended use.
• To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
• The Fabric Select Dial and Steam Lever should always be turned to OFF before plugging or
unplugging from outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and
pull to disconnect.
• Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away.
Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
• Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water, cleaning or emptying
and when not in use.
• Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To
avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Take it to an authorized service
center for examination and/or repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock
when the iron is used.
• Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave

• Your SUNBEAM®iron is designed to rest on the heel rest. Do not leave the iron unattended.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
• This is a 1200-Watt appliance. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high
wattage appliance on the same circuit.
• If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated for
less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it
cannot be pulled or tripped over.

TOFILL THE WATER RESERVOIR (use tap water
1. Make sure the iron is unplugged. Set the Steam Lever to (Dry) and the Fabric-Select Dial to OFF.
2. Lift the Water Fill Hole Cover.
3. Fill water cup with tap water and pour water into iron water reservoir. Do not fill water reservoir
beyond maximum fill level.
WARNING To prevent the risk of burns, be careful when filling a hot iron with water. Hot metal
parts, hot water and steam can cause injuries.
DRY IRONING
1. Make sure the Steam Lever is turned to the (Dry) setting.
2. Plug the cord into a 120-Volt AC outlet.
3. Turn the large Fabric Select Dial to the fabric setting you desire. Allow the iron to heat for 2 minutes.
While the iron is heating, make sure it is sitting on its heel rest on a stable, protected surface.
Note While the Steam Lever is turned to the (Dry) setting, you may still use the SHOT OF STEAM®
or SPRAY MIST®feature, as long as the Fabric Select Dial is set to wool, cotton, or linen. Please
make sure the water reservoir is approximately 1/4 full of water.
STEAM IRONING
1. Follow the instructions for “Filling the Water Reservoir.”
2. Plug the cord into a 120-Volt AC outlet.
3. Turn the Fabric Select Dial to the fabric setting you desire. Allow the iron to heat for 2 minutes.
While the iron is heating, make sure it is sitting on its heel rest on a stable, protected surface.
IMPORTANT When not ironing, always set the Steam Lever to (Dry) and the Fabric Select
Dial to OFF. USING THE IRON’SSPECIAL FEATURES
SPRAY MIST®FEATURE is a powerful water spray mist that dampens the fabric to aid in
removing wrinkles from heavy fabrics and for setting creases.
TOUSE THE SPRAY MIST®FEATURE Press the Spray Mist ®button firmly.
SHOT OF STEAM®FEATURE provides an extra burst of steam for deep penetration of
stubborn wrinkles. You can use this feature while Dry or Steam ironing, as long as the Fabric Select
Dial is set to wool, cotton, or linen. The water reservoir must be approximately 1/4 full of water.
TO USE THE SHOT OF STEAM®FEATURE Place the iron on top of the wrinkle and press the Shot of
Steam®button each time you would like an extra burst of steam. The Shot of Steam ®feature may be
used continuously in approximately 3-second intervals.
VERTICAL STEAM (select models only allows your iron to function as a garment steamer.
Tip When using vertical steam on clothing, hang the clothing on a clothes hanger for best results.
Hanging curtains and drapes may also be steamed.
TO USE VERTICAL STEAM
1. Make sure that the iron has heated up (2 minutes).
2. Hold the iron in a vertical position, with the iron close to but not touching the fabric you want
to steam.
3. With your other hand, pull the fabric tight.
4. Press the Shot of Steam®button in approximately 3-second intervals as you move the iron across
the wrinkled area.
WARNING To prevent the risk of burns, keep your hand away from the area being steamed.
WARNING DO NOT steam garments while wearing them; this may result in injuries.
30 MINUTE TIMED AUTO-OFF (select models only
When the iron is plugged in, the Auto-Off activates automatically after 30 minutes. The Auto-Off
will activate in any position after the 30 minutes. Once the Auto-Off activates, the power indicator
light will turn off and the iron stops heating.
TO RESTART THE IRON Press the Restart Button (Power Indicator Light .
If you do NOT want to iron any longer, unplug the iron. Then move the Variable Steam Lever to
(Dry) and the Fabric Select Slider to Off.
WARNING The Auto-Off is a safety feature and is not a recommended means for turning your iron
off. See “Caring for Your Iron After Use.”
MOTION SMART®AUTO-OFF FEATURE (select models only
When the iron is plugged in, the Power Indicator will light steadily, indicating that there is power
to the iron.
IF YOU LEAVE THE IRON
• in a horizontal position without moving it, or accidentally tip the iron over, it will automatically
stop heating after 30 seconds. The Power Indicator will blink to let you know that the iron has
stopped heating.
• in a vertical position (on its heel rest) without moving it, the iron will automatically turn off after
15 minutes. The Power Indicator will blink to let you know that the iron has stopped heating.
IMPORTANT The Power Indicator will continue to blink until the iron is unplugged or reset.
TO RESET THE IRON Move the iron back and forth and allow it to reheat for 2 minutes.
The indicator will stop blinking and the iron will start heating again.
WARNING Motion Smart®Auto-Off is a safety feature, not a recommended means for turning your
iron off. See “Caring for Your Iron After Use” for information on turning off your iron and storing
it safely between use.
STORAGE STRIP™INDICATOR (select models only is an easy way to see when the iron is
cool enough to store.
TO USE THE STORAGE STRIP™INDICATOR Turn iron on. In approximately 2 minutes, the
STORAGE STRIP™INDICATOR will turn from black to red, indicating that the iron is too hot to store.
When the iron is turned off, it will take the iron approximately 30-40 minutes for the STORAGE
STRIP™INDICATOR to turn from red to black, indicating that the iron is cool enough to store.
CAUTION The STORAGE STRIP™ indicator should only be used as a guideline. The iron should
always be handled and stored with care.
SECURECORD™RETRACTION (select models only allows you to safely retract your power
cord without a whipping effect.
1. Select the amount of cord desired before plugging into an electrical outlet. Do not pull cord past
red indicator.
2. To retract the cord use the cord prongs to press the retraction button. Hold the iron with one hand
and use the other hand to grab the end of the cord. (failure to hold plug may cause plug to fly
3. The cord reel is compact for multi-layer winding of the cord. In case cord is not fully rewound,
pull out the cord and steer cord evenly on the reel.
4. In case the cord is not pulled out easily, pull cord firmly.
5. Do not allow children to use retractable cord feature as the cord may cause injury.
CARING FOR YOUR IRON AFTER USE
TURNING OFF YOUR IRON Turn the Steam Lever to (Dry) and Fabric Select Dial to Off and
unplug the iron from the power source.
WARNING NEVER yank the power cord when unplugging the iron. This can damage the cord.
STORING YOUR IRON
1. Turn off iron following instructions above. Allow the iron to cool.
2. If you do not use your iron on a daily basis, empty the water reservoir after each use for a longer iron
life. To do so, unplug the iron, turn the iron upside down, open the fill hole cover, and allow water to
flow from the fill hole. Shake the iron gently to remove trapped water drops.
3. If your iron does not have a retractable cord, loosely loop the power cord around the heel rest and
store the iron on its heel rest.
IMPORTANT Wrapping the cord around the iron too tightly can damage the cord.
MAINTAINING YOUR STEAM MASTER®IRON
CLEANING THE SOLEPLATE turn off iron following instructions above. Clean the soleplate if starch or
other residue accumulate.
TO CLEAN THE SOLEPLATE allow the iron to cool and then wipe it with a soft, damp cloth.
WARNING DO NOT use abrasive cleansers, scouring pads or vinegar to clean the soleplate. This will
damage the finish. Run the iron over an all-cotton cloth to remove any residue.
USING THE SELF-CLEANING FEATURE You should use the Self-Cleaning feature once a month to
maintain the optimal performance of your iron.
TO USE THE SELF-CLEANING FEATURE
Turn off iron following instructions above.
1. Move the Steam Lever back and forth several times to remove debris and minerals from the Steam
Valve. This keeps water flowing into the steam chamber.
2. Fill the water reservoir with tap water to the MAX line.
3. Plug in the iron, set the Fabric Select Dial to Linen and allow the iron to heat for 2 minutes.
4. Unplug the iron.
5. Hold the iron over a sink in a horizontal position.
WARNING Be careful not to touch the iron’s hot surfaces.
6. Press the Self-clean Button and hold. Water will begin dripping from the steam vents. Slowly rock
the iron side to side and front to back for 30 seconds. When rocking the iron, dip the nose of the
iron slightly below the rear of the iron to make certain the water circulates completely. Release the
Self-clean Button after one minute.
7. Open the fill cap, turn the iron upside down, and allow the remaining water to flow out of the fill hole.
8. Dry the soleplate with a towel.
9. Plug in the iron and set the Fabric Select Dial to Linen. Let the iron heat for 2 minutes to dry out
the iron completely.
10. Set the Fabric Select Dial to the Off, unplug the iron, and allow it to cool.
ANTI-CALCIUM SYSTEM (select models only
The STEAM MASTER®iron houses an anti-calcium filter in the reservoir, which eliminates impurities
from the water. This is a permanent system located inside the water reservoir.

Remarque Quand le levier de débit de vapeur est (sec), vous pouvez utiliser la survapeur SHOT
OF STEAMMD ou l’atomisation SPRAY MISTMD, condition que le textile sélectionné soit «wool»
(lainage), «cotton» (cotonnade) ou «linen» (lin) et que le réservoir soit au moins au quart plein d’eau.
REPASSAGE À LA VAPEUR
1. Observez les instructions fournies sous «Remplissage du réservoir».
2. Branchez le fer sur une prise de courant alternatif de 120 volts.
3. Tournez le cadran de sélection des textiles au tissu désiré. Laissez chauffer le fer pendant 2 minutes.
Faites chauffer le fer, posé sur son talon d’appui, sur une surface d’aplomb, stable et protégée.
IMPORTANT Entre séances de repassage, réglez toujours le levier de débit de vapeur (sec) et le
cadran de sélection des textiles en position d’arrêt (OFF).
TIREZ PARTI DES ATTRIBUTS DU FER
ATOMISATION SPRAY MISTMD – produit une puissante pulvérisation d’eau qui humecte le
tissu pour aider effacer les faux plis tenaces ou marquer davantage les plissés.
POUR UTILISER L’ATOMISATION SPRAY MISTMD Appuyez fermement sur le bouton SPRAY MISTMD.
SURVAPEUR SHOT OF STEAMMD – procure un surcroît de vapeur qui imprègne les faux plis
tenaces. Cette fonction peut être utilisée lors du repassage sec ou la vapeur, condition que le
textile sélectionné soit «wool» (lainage), «cotton» (cotonnade) ou «linen» (lin) et que le réservoir soit
au moins au quart plein d’eau.
POUR UTILISER LA SURVAPEUR SHOT OF STEAMMD Placez le fer au-dessus des faux plis puis appuyez
sur le bouton Shot of SteamMD chaque fois que vous désirez un supplément de vapeur. Cette fonction
peut s’employer de façon continue, en laissant écouler environ 3 secondes entre les pressions.
PROJECTION VERTICALE DE VAPEUR (certains modèles seulement – permet de se servir du fer
repasser pour défroisser les vêtements la verticale.
Conseil pratique Placez les vêtements défriper sur des cintres pour obtenir les résultats les plus
satisfaisants. Cette fonction se révèle aussi très pratique pour défroisser les rideaux et tentures.
POUR UTILISER LA PROJECTION VERTICALE DE VAPEUR
1. Attendez que le fer ait chauffé (2 minutes).
2. Tenez le fer la verticale près du tissu défriper – mais sans le toucher ou le frôler.
3. Tendez l’étoffe de votre autre main.
4. Appuyez sur le bouton de survapeur Shot of SteamMD environ toutes les 3 secondes tandis que
vous balayez la partie froissée avec le fer.
AVERTISSEMENT Éloignez votre main de la trajectoire de la vapeur pour éviter toute brûlure.
AVERTISSEMENT NE défroissez PAS de vêtements endossés, vous vous brûleriez sûrement.
HORS TENSION CHRONOMÉTRÉE 30 MINUTES (certains modèles seulement
La hors tension chronométrée se met automatiquement en fonction 30 minutes après le
branchement du fer et ceci, quelle que soit la position du fer. Lorsque la hors tension automatique
est activée, le voyant d’alimentation s’éteint et le fer cesse de chauffer.
POUR RELANCER LE FER Appuyez sur le bouton de relancement (voyant d’alimentation .
Débranchez le fer si vous avez TERMINÉ votre séance de repassage. Mettez alors le levier de débit
de vapeur la position (sec) et le cadran de sélection des textiles en position d’arrêt (Off).
AVERTISSEMENT La hors tension automatique est une caractéristique de sécurité et non un
moyen conseillé d’éteindre le fer. Voyez la rubrique «Soins apporter au fer en fin d’utilisation».
COUPURE AUTOMATIQUE MOTION SMARTMD (certains modèles seulement
Quand vous branchez le fer repasser, son voyant d’alimentation luit continuellement, signe que le
fer est sous tension.
SI VOUS LAISSEZ LE FER…
• l’horizontale ( plat) sans le déplacer, ou bien si vous le renversez accidentellement, le fer s’arrête
automatiquement de chauffer après 30 secondes. Le voyant d’alimentation clignote alors pour
vous avertir que le fer a cessé de chauffer.
• la verticale (sur son talon) sans le déplacer, le fer s’éteint automatiquement après 15 minutes. Le
voyant d’alimentation clignote alors pour vous signaler que le fer a cessé de chauffer.
IMPORTANT Le voyant d’alimentation clignotera jusqu’ ce que le fer soit débranché ou relancé.
POUR RELANCER LE FER Déplacez le fer d’avant en arrière puis laissez-le chauffer 2 minutes.
Le voyant d’alimentation cessera de clignoter et le fer recommencera chauffer.
AVERTISSEMENT La coupure automatique Motion SmartMD est une caractéristique de sécurité et
non une méthode conseillée de mise hors tension du fer. Voyez «Soins apporter au fer en fin
d’utilisation» pour tous renseignements sur la façon d’éteindre le fer et de le ranger.
INDICATEUR DE RANGEMENT STORAGE STRIPMC (certains modèles seulement –
pratique car un simple coup d’œil laisse voir si le fer a suffisamment refroidi pour être rangé.
POUR UTILISER L’INDICATEUR DE RANGEMENT STORAGE STRIPMC Allumez le fer. Après environ
2 minutes, l’indicateur STORAGE STRIPMC passera du noir au rouge, ce qui indique que le fer est trop
chaud pour que vous le rangiez.
Quand vous avez éteint le fer, il faut compter entre 30 et 40 minutes pour que l’indicateur STORAGE
STRIPMC passe du rouge au noir, signe que le fer a suffisamment refroidi pour être rangé.
ATTENTION Comme son nom l’indique, le STORAGE STRIPMC n’est qu’un indicateur.
Manipulez et rangez toujours le fer repasser très prudemment.
BOUTON D’ESCAMOTAGE SECURECORDMC (certains modèles seulement – permet de
faire escamoter le cordon en toute sécurité, sans qu’il ne cingle.
1. Choisissez la longueur de cordon dont vous avez besoin avant de brancher le fer sur la prise de
courant. Ne le tirez pas au-del de son indicateur rouge.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton d’escamotage avec les lames de la fiche. Tenez le fer d’une main et saisissez
la fiche de l’autre main. (Si vous ne tenez pas la fiche, elle risque d’être projetée en l’air
3. Compacte, la bobine accueille plusieurs couches de cordon. Si le cordon ne s’enroule pas
totalement, tirez-le pour le sortir et guidez-le pour l’enrouler uniformément.
4. Si le cordon ne se déroule pas aisément, tirez-le fermement.
5. Ne permettez pas aux enfants de faire escamoter le cordon, le cordon pourrait les blesser.
SOINS À APPORTER AU FER APRÈS L’UTILISATION
MISE HORS TENSION DU FER Réglez le levier de débit de vapeur (sec), le cadran de sélection
des textiles l’arrêt (Off) puis débranchez le fer sa source d’alimentation.
AVERTISSEMENT NE donnez surtout JAMAIS un coup sec sur le cordon pour débancher le fer,
vous abîmeriez le cordon.
RANGEMENT DU FER
1. Éteignez le fer selon les instructions ci-haut. Laissez refroidir le fer.
2. Videz le fer en fin d’utilisation s’il ne sert pas tous les jours, ceci prolongera sa durée de service.
Pour ceci, débranchez-le, mettez-le pointe en bas puis ouvrez le volet de l’orifice de remplissage
afin que l’eau puisse s’écouler. Secouez doucement le fer pour libérer les dernières gouttes.
3. Si votre fer n’est pas pourvu d’un cordon escamotable, enroulez le cordon autour du talon, sans
le tendre, puis rangez le fer sur son talon d’appui.
IMPORTANT Enrouler le cordon d’alimentation en le tendant risque de l’abîmer.
ENTRETIEN DU FER À VAPEUR STEAM MASTERMD
NETTOYAGE DE LA SEMELLE Éteignez le fer selon les instructions ci-haut. Nettoyez la semelle si de
l’amidon ou d’autres résidus y adhèrent.
POUR LA NETTOYER Laissez refroidir le fer et frottez la semelle avec un linge doux et humide.
AVERTISSEMENT N’employez NI poudres, NI tampons récurer, NI vinaigre pour nettoyer la
semelle, vous abîmeriez le fini. Donnez quelques coups de fer sur un linge pur coton pour éliminer
les résidus.
UTILISATION DE L’AUTONETTOYAGE Nous vous encourageons vivement l’utiliser une fois par
mois pour optimiser le rendement du fer.
POUR UTILISER L’AUTONETTOYAGE Éteignez le fer selon les instructions ci-haut.
1. Déplacez le levier de débit de vapeur d’un côté et de l’autre plusieurs reprises pour éliminer les
débris et le tartre ayant pu s’accumuler dans la soupape vapeur. En agissant ainsi, l’eau
continue couler dans la chambre vapeur.
2. Remplissez le réservoir d’eau du robinet jusqu’au repère maximal de remplissage.
3. Branchez le fer et réglez le cadran des textiles Linen (Lin). Laissez chauffer le fer 2 minutes.
4. Débranchez le fer.
5. Tenez le fer horizontalement au-dessus d’un évier ou lavabo.
AVERTISSEMENT Ne touchez surtout pas aux surfaces chaudes du fer!
6. Appuyez, sans le relâcher, sur le bouton d’autonettoyage. L’eau commencera dégoutter des
évents vapeur. Inclinez lentement le fer d’un côté et de l’autre et d’avant en arrière pendant
30 secondes, tout en penchant la pointe avant un peu plus bas que le talon afin que l’eau circule
partout. Cessez d’appuyer sur le bouton d’autonettoyage au bout d’une minute.
7. Ouvrez le volet de l’orifice de remplissage, mettez le fer la pointe en bas et laissez écouler l’eau
restante par l’orifice de remplissage.
8. Essuyez la semelle avec une serviette de toilette douce.
9. Branchez le fer et réglez le cadran de sélection des textiles Linen (Lin). Laissez chauffer le fer
pendant 2 minutes pour totalement l’assécher.
10. Réglez le cadran de sélection des textiles l’arrêt (Off), débranchez le fer et laissez-le refroidir.
SYSTÈME ANTITARTRE (certains modèles seulement
Le réservoir du fer vapeur STEAM MASTERMD incorpore un filtre antitartre permanent, qui retire
les impuretés en suspension dans l’eau.
