Microwave cooking tips
1) Arrangefood carefully, place thickestareas toward outsideof dish.
2) Watchcooking time, cookfor the shortestamount of timeindicated and addmore time asneeded.
3) Cover foodsbefore cooking
check recipe forsuggestions: paper towels,microwave plastic wrapor a lid.Coversprevent spattering andhelp foods tocook
evenly. (Helps keep ovenclean).
4) Shield foods
Use small piecesof aluinium foilto cover thinareas of meatsor poultry toavoid overcooking.
5) Stir foods:Fromoutside to centerof dish onceor twice duringcooking, if possible.
6) Turnfoods:Foods such aschicken, hamburgers orsteaks should beturned over onceduring cooking.
7) Rearrange foods:Like meatballs halfwaythrough cooking bothfrom top tobottom and fromthe center ofthe dish tothe outside.
8) Allowstanding time
After cookingensure adequate standingtime.Remove food fromoven and stirif possible.
Cover for standingtime which allowsthe food tofinish cooking withoutovercooking.
8) Check fordoneness
Look for signsindicating that cookingtemperature has beenreached. Doneness signsinclude:
-Food steams throughout,not just atedge.
-Poultry thigh jointsmove easily.
-Pork and poultryshow no pinkness..
-Fish is opaqueand flakes easilywith a fork.
9) Condensation
Anormal part ofmicrowave cooking. The humidity andmoisture in foodwill influence theamount of moisturein the oven.Generally
, covered foodswill not causeas much condensationas uncovered foods.Ensure that theventilation openings arenot blocked.
10) Browning dish
when using abrowning dish, alwaysplace a heat-resistantinsulator such asa porcelain plateunder it toprevent damage tothe
turntable, rotating ringdue to heatstress. The preheating time specifiedin the dishesinstructions must notbe exceeded.
11) Microwave safe plasticwrap
for cooking foodwith high fatcontent, do notbring the wrapin contact withthe food asit may melt.
12) Microwave safeplastic cookware
Some microwave safeplastic cookware arenot suitable forcooking foods withhigh fat andsugar content.
Cleaning and maintenance
Disconnect the powersupply cord beforecleaning. And if possibleleave the dooropen to inactivatethe oven duringcleaning.
Exterior:
The outside maybe cleaned withmild soap andwarm water,wipe clean witha damp cloth.Avoid theuse of harshabrasive cleaners.
Door:
Wipe the doorand window onboth sides, thedoor seals andadjacent parts frequentlywith a dampcloth to removeany spills or
spatters. Do notuse abrasive cleaners.
Control panel:
Care should betaken in cleaningthe control panel.Wipe the panelwith a clothdampened slightly withwater only.Do not scrubor use
any sort ofchemical cleaners.Avoid the use of excesswater.
Interior walls:
Toclean the interiorsurfaces, wipe witha soft clothand warm waterfor hygienic reasons.After usewipethe waveguide cover
in the ovenwith a softdamp cloth toremove any foodsplashed. Buildup splashesmay overheat andbegin to smokeor catch fire.
Do not removethe waveguide cover. Do notuse a commercialoven cleaner,abrasive or harshcleaners and scouringpads on any
part of yourmicrowave oven. Neverspray oven cleanersdirectly onto anypart of youroven.Avoid using excess water.After cleaning
the oven, ensureany water isremoved with asoft cloth.
Turntable/ Rotating ring/Rotating axis
Wash withmild soapy waterand dry thoroughly.
TIP: When the microwaveoven has beenused for along time, theremay be somestrange odors existin
oven, Following 3methods can getrid of them:
1. Place severallemon slices ina cup, thenheat with highpower for 2-3min.
2. place acup of redtea in oven,then heat withhigh power.
3. Put someorange peel into oven, then heatthem with highpower for 1minute.
