Foroptimumresults,Sunbeamrecommends
stirringthericehalfwaythroughthecooking
process.Thisallowsthericetobeagitated,
activatingthenaturalstarchesintherice,
whichwillresultinanaturallycreamier,
smootherrisotto.
Iftherisottoisnotcookedtothedesired
level,standontheKEEPWARMsetting
forseveralminutes,or,switchbacktothe
RISOTTOsettinguntiltherisottoiscookedto
thedesiredlevel.Moreliquid(waterorstock)
canbeaddedifneeded.
IfrisottoissittingontheKEEPWARM
settingforanextendedperiodoftime,stir
occasionallysobrowningonthebasewon’t
occur.

washricethoroughlyundercoldwater.
Continuewashingriceuntilwaterruns
clear.Makingsuretoshakeoffanyexcess
liquidoncewashed.Thisremovesexcess
starchwhichwillmakethericefluffier.
3.Ensuretheexteriorofthecookingpanis
cleananddrybeforeplacinginsidethe
heatingvessel.
4.Placethewashedriceinthecookingpan,
andaddcoldwater.Makesurethatthe
riceisspreadevenlyinthebottomofthe
pan.
5.Replacethelid.
6.PresstheMENUbuttonuntiltheRICE
lightisilluminated.Whenriceiscooked,
theunitwillbeepandautomaticallyswitch

Tips for cooking rice
1.Forfluffierrice,addalittleextrawater,
forfirmerricereducetheamountofwater.
Byaddingtoomuchwater,excessmay
overflowduringcooking.Itisrecommended
tofollowthechartsonpage8,andthen
adjusttoyourlikingwhenthecooking
cyclehasfinished.
2.BrownriceandArborioriceneedmore
liquidtocook,whichresultsinthebuild
upofstarchybubblesfoamingaroundthe
lid.Thiscancausespittingfromtheair
vent.Bywashingthericethoroughlythis
canbereduced.
