Thank you for purchasing the Sunflex24Touch Daylight Controller. The most flexible and
innovative timer & dimmer controller on the market today. An enhanced version of the
original Sunflex24Plus Controller, with an optional Fm Radio & MP3 Player capability for
song training.
The Sunflex24Touch now features 4 different operating languages: ENGLISH, ITALIAN,
SPANISH and GERMAN. This feature will allow its use to many more “worldwide”
breeders. The menus are intuitive and all necessary explanations of its features, values
and settings are displayed on the selected screens.
The Sunflex24Touch now features a DUAL TIMER capability. This optional selection, will
allow the controller to turn OFF (Simulated Sunset) and at a later time turn ON (Simulated
Sunrise) the normal day lamps.
We now provide flexible, “Fixed Sunrise” or “Fixed Sunset” as well as the Standard
Sunrise/Sunset adjustment during “Breed” or “Rest” Modes.
The Sunflex24Touch, can be the ideal daylight controller for other animals, reptiles and
fish. They can benefit from the precise repeatable sunrise / sunset, simulating a natural
wildlife environment. The net results should be a healthier and well rested bird, animal,
reptile or fish.
Initial Set-Up—PLEASE READ !!
Unpack the SunFleX24Touch and mount in a safe, easily accessible location in your room.
Away from heating, ventilation or any device capable of generating moisture.
If an Optional Temp/Hum Sensor is used “PLUG IT IN FIRST”. Then Plug unit into a
120V 60 Hz grounded outlet for US Versions.
Or Suitable 210/240V 50Hz Outlet for European/ World Versions
The controller will power up and go through a startup routine.
The display will show a series of startup screens and when completed will display the
system time, date and other system information.
**Should the internal clock power source voltage “SuperCap” be low, the system will
force user to set the Local Time Value .
For long term reliability a “SuperCap” is now used as opposed to Lithium rechargeable
batteries. More expensive but reliability is worth the price.**

MODES OF OPERATION:
1. MANUAL MODE: Executes timed Sunrise & Sunset daily, based on user
set schedule. If DUAL TIMER is selected, the system will execute the next
Sunset and Sunrise (Lights OFF then Lights ON), based of the times set for
MIDDAY SUNSET and MIDDAY SUNRISE.
2. *BREED* MODE: Used to increase daylight duration to stimulate breed-
ing. Daily changes to Sunrise & Sunset times are adjusted based on user
entered values. Starting Minimum daylight hours (8-12hrs?), Ending Maxi-
mum daylight hours (13-16hrs?), and the Number of Days to reach the maxi-
mum daylight hours(14-180days?).Select Yes/No “Fixed Sunrise or Sunset”
at this time.
3. *REST* MODE: is exactly the inverse of the Breed Mode. This mode is
used after a breeding session to start a rest period of decreased daylight activity
(Molt). This mode allows the user to gradually decrease the number of daylight
hours in same method as above. But at a different rate of change.
4. “Fixed Sunrise/Sunset Yes/No” This selection applies while in
“BREED” or “REST” Mode ONLY. When set to “YES” Sunrise or Sunset
Time will be Fixed . Increase or Decrease adjustment of daylight hours will
be only at Sunset , or Sunrise for duration of days selected.
OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS:
BREED OR REST MODE WHEN SYSTEM IS IN BREED* MODE or REST* MODE ,
CHANGES TO INITIAL SETUP FOR THAT MODE CANNOT BE MADE.
IF YOU NEED TO MAKE CHANGES FOR ANY REASON, YOU MUST, FIRST EXIT TO MANUAL
MODE. MAKE NECESSARY CHANGES AND THEN RE-START THAT MODE FROM DAY
ZERO(“0”) TO THE VALUE OF REMAINING DAYS.
DUAL TIMER OPERATION when ENABLED
WHEN DUAL TIMER MODE IS ENABLED, THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS APPLY.
MidDay Sunset MUST BE MORE THAN ONE (1) HOUR AFTER NORMAL SUNRISE.
MidDay Sunrise MUST BE LESS THAN ONE (1) HOUR BEFORE NORMAL SUNSET.
EXAMPLE:
Sunrise 07:30
Sunset 19:05
Earliest MidDay Sunset Time =08:30
Latest MidDay Sunrise Time = 18:00

TROUBLESHOOTING:
• Q: TOUCHSCREEN REMAINS BLACK WHEN INITIALLY PLUGGED IN.
• A: Occasionally the main CPU and the TouchScreen CPU do not synchronize
on power up. Remove power wait 5 seconds and re-apply power
• Q: VALUES FOR TIME AND DATE ARE OUT OF NORMAL RANGE. 255
MINUTES OR 255 ANYTHING??
• A: Internal Real Time Clock lost power or register values are corrupt. Re-
move power wait 5 seconds and re-apply power. As soon as FIRST SCREEN
appears, TOUCH & HOLD Until MESSAGE “CLEARING MEMORY APPEARS”.
• Q: WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SYSTEM STATUS?
• A: This screen is intended for you the user to occasionally check for any
recurring faults or power losses. The information is valuable on occasions
where unknown events happen. (Case: Connected a vacuum cleaner to the
same outlet and strange things happened?). The system depending on what
event happened out of sync , will at least log the failure for future analysis.
• Q: SCREEN DISPLAYS INVERTED COLORS.
• A: Remove and Re-Apply Power to Correct.
• Q: SCREEN DISPLAYS “FAULT”.
• A: Touch FAULT message to access the “System Staus Screen” and deter-
mine what fault(s) have occurred, make a note of faults for future analysis or

We have made every attempt at optimizing and improving the Setup and
Operation of the Sunex24Plus. We have listened to comments and solic-
ited ideas from YOU the end user. For that our deepest gratitude, in re-
turn we will continue our beginning commitment to provide you a
“World Class” Controller for whatever your lighting needs may be.
We have to date responded to a few comments and suggestions. For ex-
ample, at the initial introduction at the 2014 NCBS in Dayton, OH. , the
suggestion was made for a “FIXED START TIME “ for the Sunrise Routine.
That change allows the Sunrise to start at the same preset time every-
day, when in Breed or Rest mode. The increase/decrease of daylight oc-
curs only at Sunset. Thanks to Maurice G. of North York, Ontario, CA.,
for requesting it. Next came the Power Failure Recovery Routine, a sug-
gestion once again by Maurice G. , a valuable feature.
At the 2015 NCBS in St. Charles, IL. , a request was made by Alan T. of
Hamilton, Ontario, CA.. He suggested the possibility of adding the ability
to monitor Temperature & Humidity, and display on the Sunex24 .
That gave birth to the “SUNFLEX24PLUS ,until more features where be-
ing requested and that led to the “SUNFLEX24TOUCH in late 2017.
Fast forward to 2018 ,the “SUNFLEX24TOUCH” now features four Lan-
guages, Italian, German, Spanish and English . Another request from
Alan T. for an internally controller FM Radio & MP3 Player for song train-
ing. Also a “System Status Screen” with detailed status information.
Finally another “USER” request from Selwan S. & Joe L. of Canada, for
the ability to select “FIXED SUNSET” versus “FIXED SUNRISE”. Request
fullled and now “Standard Feature”. Thank you Joe & Selwan.
A nal word of gratitude to Mr. Ray Melling of the UK, for testing the Eu-
ropean Version of the Sunex24TOUCH at their power & frequency levels.
And assisting in testing conrmed the ability to make the Sunex24Touch
available to Europe and the rest of the World.
And now the ability to select Single or Dual time mode. If dual time
mode is selected, the system oers the ability to “Turn O” and then
“Turn On”, the daylamps in the middle of the day for a programmable
period of time .
This time interval MUST be One Hour or more after Sunrise and One
Hour or more before Sunset. This prevents any possible error in normal
Sunrise/Sunset Routines.
MidDay Lights OFF will mimic a rapid Sunset routine. MidDay Lights
ON will mimic a rapid Sunrise routine.

WARRANTY
This system is warranted to the original owner for a period of one (1) year. This warran-
ty is provided in case of failure due to defects in material or workmanship with the fol-
lowing conditions:
I. Product has been used, installed and operated according to instructions
II. Product seal has NOT been tampered altered or removed.
III. To keep this product best-in-class Lantan Bay at it’s discretion, may from time to time
make firmware updates to existing owners. Check website for revision info.
IV. For Warranty repairs product will be returned to Lantan Bay at buyers’ expense.
Repair or replacement under warranty does not extend original warranty date.
Lantan Bay Enterprise will NOT be held liable for any damages directly or indirectly
caused by or attributed to, by the SunFleX24Touch Daylight Controller.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THIS SYSTEM UNPLUGGED FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF
TIME. THIS MAY DISCHARGE THE INTERNAL SUPERCAP AND RESET THE TIME !!
