SUNSCAN™ SR81
Quick Setup Guide
Please note these are basic keystroke details to setting up your system. For in-depth
information, please consult your manual.
Also Note that before applying any of the following keystrokes the controller would
need to be taken out of idle mode this can be done by pushing any button (the back
light on display switches on)
Setting the Clock:
Press “CLOCK” button
Hour “00” blinks on display
Press “+ -“button to adjust hour
Press “CLOCK” button
Minute “00” blinks on display
Press “+ -“button to adjust minute
Press “ESC“button to save set value
Setting the Timed Heating:
Press “SET” button twice (2x)
“THTS” is displayed
Press “+ “button twice (2x)
“TH1O” is displayed (Heating period 1 on) Default 03:00, 52 Deg (Electrical
element will switch on at 03:00am if the temperature is below 52 Deg)
Press “SET” button
“03” (hour) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“00” (Minute) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“52.0” (Temperature) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “ESC” button
“TH1O” is displayed
Press “+ “button“TH1F” is displayed (Heating period 1 off) Default 06:00, 58 Deg
(Electrical element will switch off at 06:00am or if the temperature reaches 58
Deg before)
Press “SET” button
“06” (hour) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“00” (Minute) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“58.0” (Temperature) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “ESC” button
“TH1F” is displayed
Press “+ “button
“TH2O” is displayed (Heating period 2 on) Default 10:00, 42 Deg (Electrical
element will switch on at 10:00am if the temperature is below 42 Deg)
Press “SET” button
“10” (hour) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“00” (Minute) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“42.0” (Temperature) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “ESC” button
“TH2O” is displayed
Press “+ “button
“TH2F” is displayed (Heating period 2 off) Default 15:00, 46 Deg (Electrical
element will switch off at 15:00pm or if the temperature reaches 46 Deg before)
Press “SET” button
“15” (hour) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“00” (Minute) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“46.0” (Temperature) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “ESC” button
“TH2F” is displayed
Press “+ “button
“TH3O” is displayed (Heating period 3 on) Default 15:01, 52 Deg (Electrical
element will switch on at 15:01pm if the temperature is below 52 Deg)
Press “SET” button
“15” (hour) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“01” (Minute) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“52.0” (Temperature) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “ESC” button
“TH3O” is displayed
Press “+ “button
“TH3F” is displayed (Heating period 3 off) Default 18:00, 58 Deg (Electrical
element will switch off at 18:00pm or if the temperature reaches 58 Deg before)
Press “SET” button
“18” (hour) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“00” (Minute) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “SET” button
“58.0” (Temperature) blinks, use “+ -“button to adjust
Press “ESC” button
“TH3F” is displayed
Press “ESC” button twice (2x)
To override/cancel a timed heating session set on and off time to equal value eg.
TH2O, 10:00 / TH2F, 10:00.
Manual Heating:
If at any time outside of the timed heating sessions you require hot water
Press “Manual Heating” button
“Temperature”blinks
Press “+ -“button to adjust desired temperature
Press “Manual Heating” button
Note that this will heat the tank to the pre-set above one time and that when the
pre-set is reached it will switch off and revert to the pre programmed timed
heating sessions.
To remove this setting during heating
Press “Manual Heating” button
Eco Mode:
Eco mode by-passes all electrical timed heating sessions, whilst ECO MODE is
running NO electrical back up is available, the system relies totally on Solar
energy to heat water.
Press “ECO MODE” button
A leaf in a circle appears on screen
To exit ECO MODE
Press “ECO MODE” button
Leaf and circle disappears, timed heating settings are activated.
Holiday:
When extended periods of non usage are expected .i.e. away on holiday, the
system will manage itself by cancelling all timed heating sessions and circulating
the solar gain for that day through the collector at night thus cooling the tank for
the following day.
To activate:
Press and hold “Holiday” button for 3 seconds
“HDAY, 05”appears
Press “+ -“button to adjust number of days
Press “ESC” button
A suitcase appears on screen
To exit “HOLIDAY”
Press “Holiday” button
It is recommended that “HOLIDAY”is set for one day short of arrival
