Basic operations
■ Power-on/off
Turn the “Power switch” to On position and the device will
be powered on automatically. Press and hold " " button for
soft power off. In soft power-off status, press and hold “ ”
for soft power-on.
When in power-on status, press and hold “ ” to power off.

Note: (When in recording or music playing status, do not
turn off the power switch directly, so as to avoid file damage.)
When this device is out of use for a long time, please turn off
this device in soft power-off and then turn the power switch
to Off position.

■ Recording
In power-on status, press the “REC/Recording button” to
enter the recording status directly and start recording. In the
course of recording, press “Recording” button to pause
recording and the recording indicator stays in flashing status.
■ Save recording file:In the course of recording, press
the “Stop button” to save the recording file; after that, press
“ ” button directly to place the current recording file.
■ Recording settings
Enter the recording interface, press “ ” or “ ” button to
select “Recording settings” and then press “ ” button to
enter recording settings (recording mode, recording format,
recording quality, VOR voice control/LINE-IN music
separation, MIC sensitivity, indicator, monitoring volume,
sound control sensitivity.)
Recording mode (Normal recording/Dual-core noise

reduction): press “ ” or “ ” button to select the
recording mode settings, press “ ” button to enter, press
“ ” or “ ” button to select “Normal scenario” or
“Dual-core noise reduction recording” as needed, and press
“ ” for confirmation. (The normal recording files will be
saved with the extension of REC and dual-core noise
reduction files with RNC).
Recording format: Press “ ” or “ ” button to select the
recording format settings, press “ ” button to enter, press
“ ” or “ ” button to select “WAV” or “MP3” format as
needed, and press “ ” for confirmation.
Recording quality: press “ ” or “ ” button to select the
recording quality settings, press “ ” button to enter, press
“ ” or “ ” button to select “512KBPS” or “1024KBPS”
format as needed, and press “ ” for confirmation.
VOR voice control: Press “ ” or “ ” button to select
VOR voice control, press “ ” button to enter. Press “ ”

or “ ” button to select “Normal mode” or “VOR voice
control mode” as needed, and press “ ” for confirmation.
Note: (When the device is in VOR voice control mode, if there is
no sound, the recording will be paused; do not use this function
for recording of important files)
MIC sensitivity: Press “ ” or “ ” button to select MIC
sensitivity, press “ ” button to enter, press “ ” or “ ”
button to select the setting as needed, and press “ ” for
confirmation.(The signal strengths of recording and sound
source can be set)
Indicator (Recording Indicator)
Press “ ” or “ ” button to select Indicator, press “ ”
button to enter, press “ ” or “ ” button to select “On”
(the recording indicator is on) or “Off” (the recording
indicator is off) setting as needed. After selecting, press
“ ” button to confirm the selection.
Monitoring Volume

Press “ ” or “ ” button to select the monitoring volume
settings, press “ ” button to enter, press “ ” or “ ”
button to select the grade as needed. After selecting, press
“ ” button to confirm the selection.
Sound control sensitivity
Press “ ” or “ ” button to select sound control sensitivity
settings, press “ ” button to enter, press “ ” or “ ”
button to select the grade as needed. After selecting, press
“ ” button to confirm the selection.
Level of noise reduction: Press “ or ” to select
“Level of noise reduction” and press “ ” button to enter,
press “ or ” to select the setting as needed and press
“ ” button to confirm.
AGC level: Press “ or ” to select “AGC level” and
press “ ” button enter; Press “ or ” to select the
setting as needed and press “ ” button to confirm (when
the AGC level is zero, the AGC function is closed).

(Note: the settings of level of noise reduction and AGC
level are effective for dual-core noise reduction recording
only; such functions are not available for normal
recording.)
■ Timed Recording:
1. Select “Timed recording” and press “ ” button to enter.
Press “ ” or “ ” to select “Timed recording on/off”, press
“ ” button to enter, press “ ” or " ” to select “On” or
“Off” and press “ ” button for confirmation.
2. Start time setting: select start time, press “ ” button to
enter and press “ ” or “ ” button to set the clock. After
setting, press “M” menu button and the minute icon will be
highlighted. Then press “ ” or " ” to set the minutes.
After setting, press “ ” button for confirmation and return
to the previous menu.
3. End time setting: please refer to the settings of start time.
4. Timed recording cycle: options include single time, every

day, working days.
Single setting: select single recording and press “ ” button
to enter. At this time, the date shown on the top of the screen
is in red color. Press “ ” or “ ” to select the date and then
press “M” button. The month is shown in red color. Press
“ ” or “ ” again to set the month required. After that,
press “M” button and the year is shown in red color. Press
“ ” or “ ” to select the year required, and then press
“ ” for confirmation. The settings are completed. (Timed
recording files will be saved with the extension of TMREC.)
Note: after setting the timed recording or alarm, please turn
off the device or return to the main interface, otherwise the
settings will not become effective.
■ Alarm: Please refer to timed recording settings for the
settings of alarm.
Playing interface

■ Music playing
Turn on the device and press “ ” or “ ” button
to select “Music”, and then press “ ” button for
confirmation. After entering the menu, select “All
music files” and press “ ” button for
confirmation. Press “ ” or “ ” button to select
the music files you want to play and press “ ” to
play. In the course of playing, press “ ” button to

pause and press “ ” button again to continue
playing.
■ Recording file playing
Turn on the device and press “ ” or “ ” button to select
“Recording”, and then press “ ” button for confirmation.
After entering the menu, select “Recording file library” and
press “ ” button for confirmation. Press “ ” or “ ”
button to select the recording file you want to play and press
“ ” to play. In the course of playing, press “ ” button to
pause and press “ ” button again to continue playing.
■ Volume adjustment
In the course of playing music / recording files, press VOL, a
volume progress strip will be displayed on the screen. Then
press or to select the volume you want and the data
of the volume progress strip will be increased or decreased
accordingly.
■Music switching/fast forward, fast backward

In the course of recording file or music playing, press and
hold “ ” or “ ” button for fast backward or fast forward
and press “ ” or “ ” button for previous or next music
file.
■ AB repeating adjustment:
In the course of music or recording file playing, press “Stop”
button to select the starting point of AB repeating. At this
time, A on the screen starts to flash. Press “Stop” button
again to select the ending point of AB repeating. At this time,
B on the screen starts to flash. Press “Stop” button again to
start repeating the corresponding part of the file. In the
course of repeating, press “Stop” button to exit repeating
mode.
■Stop playing
In the course of music/recording file playing, press and hold
Stop button to stop playing the current file and return to the
previous menu. (Note: this device has the playing memory
function. In case of soft power-off in playing or pause

status, the device will continue the playing of the
unfinished file or return to the previous pause status
when powered on. If you don’t want to play or pause
playing when the device is powered on, you can cancel
the memory in the “Create a play list” in the music
interface or by directly pressing the “Stop” button to stop
playing.)
■ Playing mode settings
In the course of “Music or recording file” playing, press and
hold “VOL” button to enter the sub-interface and the options
include “Playing mode”, “Sound settings” and “Timed
power-off”, etc. Press “ ” or “ ” button to select the
option as needed, press “ ” button to confirm and enter
and then make settings as needed.
The playing mode can be set as repeat mode (repeat single,
repeat all, browse playing).
The sound settings include equalizer, variable-speed
playing and volume limit functions.
■ File deletion

Delete music files: in music playing pause status, press and
hold “VOL” button to enter the file list, press “ ” or “ ”
button to select the file you want to delete, and press “ ”
button again for confirmation. After entering the menu,
select YES/NO and press “ ” button again to confirm and
delete the file. Note: only single music file can be deleted on
this device.
Delete recording files: in recording interface, press “ ”
button to enter, press “ ” or “ ” to select the recording
file library and press “ ” button again to enter. Press “ ”
or “ ” to select deleting all files. Press “ ” button to
enter, press “ ” or “ ” to select whether to delete and
finally press “ ” button for confirmation.
Delete single recording file: select the file you want to delete
in the recording file library. Press and hold “VOL” button to
enter the file list, press “ ” or “ ” button to select the file
you want to delete, press “ ” button again for confirmation.

After entering, select YES/NO and press “ ” button again
to confirm and delete. (You can also delete the current file
by pressing and holding VOL button in playing pause
status).
Note: please make backup for important files before
deletion.
System settings:
Playing settings: enter setting menu, press “ ” or “ ” to
select “Playing mode”, press “ ” button to enter and set
repeating mode and random playing.
Sound settings:
1. Equalizer: enter the equalizer (EQ options include Rock,
Funk, Jazz, Classic…), press “ ” or “ ” to select “Sound
settings” and press “ ” button to enter. Press “ ” or “ ”
to select the settings required and press “ ” button for
confirmation.
2. Volume limit: in sound settings, select volume limit, press

“ ” button to enter for adjustment and press “ ” or “ ”
to select the maximum volume for recording/music output.
After making the selection, press “ ” for confirmation.
Timed power-off: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Timed
power-off”, press “ ” button to enter and press “ ” or
“ ” to select the time required (the maximum value can be
99 minutes). After setting, press “ ” for confirmation.
Display settings: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Display
settings” and press “ ” button to enter.
Brightness: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Brightness
adjustment”, press “ ” button to enter and press “ ” or
“ ” to select the setting required. After setting, press “ ”
for confirmation.
Backlight time: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Backlight
time”, press “ ” button to enter and press “ ” or “ ” to
select the setting required. After setting, press “ ” for
confirmation.

Date and time: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Date and
time” and press “ ” button to enter.
■ Date and Time: Please refer to the time setting for
timed recording.
Language: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Language”, press
“ ” button to enter, press “ ” or “ ” to select the
language required and press “ ” button for confirmation.
Information: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Information”
and press “ ” button to enter. You can check the player
information, disc space and supported file types.
Formatting setting: press “ ” or “ ” to select
“Formatting setting” to perform formatting operation on the
device. (Note: before formatting, please make backup for
important files, so as to avoid any loss.)
Factory settings: press “ ” or “ ” to select “Factory
settings” to restore the device to the conditions when shipped
from the factory.

Note: (when performing any setting operation on this
device, you can press “M” button to return to the
previous menu or press and hold the menu button to
return to the main interface directly.)
