SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious
injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery pack-operated (cordless) power tool.
• This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
• Only use the product in the manner and for the functions described in these instructions.
Work area safety
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you
to lose control.
Electrical safety
• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase
the risk of electric shock.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords
increase the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of
a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• It is recommended that appliances should be supplied via a residual current device (RCD)
with a tripping current of not more than 30mA.
Personal safety
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such
as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate
conditions will reduce personal injuries.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to
power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

4
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of
the power tool in unexpected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
Cordless garden tool use and care
• Do not force the garden tool. Use the correct garden tool for your application. The correct
garden tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the garden tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any garden tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired
• Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

chain.
Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply before setting the chain tension. Make sure
the guide bar nut is loose to finger tight, turn the chain tensioning screw clockwise to tension
the chain. Refer to Replacing the Bar and Chain for additional information.
NOTE: A cordless pole chain saw is correctly tensioned when there is no slack on the
underside of the guide bar, the chain is snug, but it can be turned by hand without binding.
Chain must be re-tensioned whenever the flats on the drive links hang out of the bar groove
During normal operation, the temperature of the chain will increase. The drive links of a
correctly tensioned warm chain will hang approximately .050 in. out of the bar groove
NOTE: New chain tends to stretch; check chain tension frequently and tension as required.
Chain tensioned while warm, may be too tight upon cooling. Check the “cold tension” before
next use.
Chain Oiler
Use Premium Bar and Chain Lubricant. It is designed for chains and chain oilers and is
formulated to perform over a wide temperature range with no dilution required.
Remove the cap and carefully pour approximately 2.54oz of bar and chain lubricant into the bar
lube reservoir.
Replace the cap and tighten securely.
Check and refill the bar lube reservoir every time the pole saw is used.
NOTE:Do not use dirty, used, or otherwise contaminated lubricants. Damage may occur to the
oil pump, bar, or chain.
Chain Maintenance
For smooth and fast cutting, the chain needs to be maintained properly. The following
conditions indicate that the chain requires sharpening:
Wood chips are small and powdery.
Chain must be forced through the wood during cutting.
Chain cuts to one side. During maintenance of the chain, consider the following:
Improper filing angle of the side plate can increase the risk of a severe kickback.
Depth gauge (or raker clearance) setting determines the height the cutter enters the wood and
the size of the wood chip that is removed. Too much clearance increases the potential for
kickback. Too little clearance decreases the size of the wood chip thus decreasing the chain’s
cutting ability.
If cutter teeth have hit hard objects such as nails and stones, or have been abraded by mud or
sand on the wood, have service dealer sharpen chain.

Dull or improperly sharpened chain can cause excessive motor speed during cutting which may
result in severe motor damage.
per chain sharpening increases the potential of kickback. Failure to replace or repair damaged
chain can cause serious injury.
STORING THE PRODUCT
Clean all foreign material from the product. Store idle unit indoors in a dry, well-ventilated area
that is inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals
and de-icing salts.
Always place the scabbard on the saw bar when transporting or storing the pole saw. The
scabbard is a snug fit and must be attached very carefully due to the sharp teeth on the saw
chain. This is best done by grasping the scabbard at one end, in the center
portion of the scabbard, and carefully sliding it over the chain as shown. Use caution to avoid
the sharp teeth of the chain.
NOTE: The saw chain is very sharp. Always wear protective gloves when handling the chain.

When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a
hazard or cause product damage.
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during product operation.
Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the machine, disconnect the battery pack from
appliance and wait for all moving parts to stop. Failure to follow these instructions can result in
serious personal injury or property damage.
General Maintenance
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from
various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to
remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc.,
come in contact with plastic parts.
Chemicals can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be repaired or replaced by the customer.
All other parts should be replaced at an Authorised Service Center.

Lubricating The Blade
For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade before and after
each use.
Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.
Lay the hedge trimmer on a fl at surface. Apply light weight machine oil along the edge of the
top blade. If you will be using the hedge trimmer for an extended period, it is advisable to oil the
blade during use.
NOTE: Do not oil while the hedge trimmer is running.
Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.
Lubricate the hedge trimmer as described above.
Reconnect to the power source and resume use.
Cleaning The Pole Hedge Trimmer
Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.
Clean dirt and debris from the body of the hedge trimmer, using a damp cloth with a mild
detergent.
NOTE: Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic housing or the handle. They can be
damaged by certain aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and by solvents such as kerosene.
Storing The Pole Hedge Trimmer
Clean all foreign material from the product.
Store it in a well-ventilated place that is inaccessible to children.
Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.
