This dehumidier is meant for ceiling mounting
within the space that requires conditioning.
When mounting, be sure that the supporting
surface and mounting means are suitably rated
to support the dehumidier weight load (see
Specications Section of this document). To
mount the unit to the ceiling, the four mounting
brackets provided on the chassis exterior may be
used in concert with an equivalent to 1/2”
All-thread to mount the dehumidier to the
building installation. When mounting, care must
be taken to slope the unit towards the
condensate drain port. This slope has been built
into the mounting bracket positioning, so simply
verify that the mounting brackets are level with
respect to one another to ensure proper
drainage.
This unit is connected to the power system
using the supplied plug and power cord. Be
sure to read the Specications section of this
document for more information on the
power and circuit breaker requirements. An
on/off switch is used to power on the
equipment which is located on the front face
of the unit and should be switched on to
begin normal operation. Along with this, an
external switch or circuit breaker shall be use
as the primary disconnect device. The
disconnect device shall be accessible to
users, have a clearly marked on/off position,
and must disconnect all current carrying
conductors simultaneously.
Connection is provided for incorporating
a humidity controller or switch. To use this
feature of the dehumidier, simply install the
switch wire in the provided connector block
and make the connection to the mating end
attached to the exterior of the unit.
Installation Instructions
Mechanical Installation
Electrical
This product is designed to provide many years of
dependable, trouble free comfort when properly
maintained. Proper maintenance will consist of
routine coil cleanings, lter changes, and
condensate drain inspection/cleaning. Failure
to provide periodic check-ups and cleaning can
result in excessive operating cost and/or
equipment failure.
Routine Maintenance
To start normal operation, ip the switch on the
front of the unit to the “ON” position and set the
humidity controller that is being used to the
desired setting for that space. If using the
water-cooled version, verify that the ow rate
to the unit is set to 5 gallons per minute for best
results.
Normal Operation
Plumbing
The water-cooled dehumidier unit has a
dedicated water inlet connection and a
dedicated water outlet connection, while the
non-water cooled model does not incorporate
water connections outside of the condensate
drain. When installing connections water inlet/
outlet connections on the water-cooled model,
take care to verify that they are not reversed, or
the unit will not operate properly. Refer to the
Specications section of this document for water
connection sizes and types. Proper insulation
shall be provided for the water lines in
accordance with local and national building
codes.
Condensate drains should be connected to a
waste or reclamation system in order to direct
the condensate out of the space. Be sure that
condensate lines remain unobstructed to avoid
unattended spillage or drain pan overow. Use
of a p-trap is recommended to avoid pressure
and vacuum related issues which can negatively
affect condensate drainage. Following
plumbing installation, the system should be
checked for leaks prior to attempting
unattended operation of the system.
