Components
Base Unit PN 101
It is the central processing unit of the system. It turns on
and off the ID tags, while sending a home address to them.
When the Base Unit receives the signal from an ID Tag with its
home address and a SUPERVISED code, it sets off the alarm.
The alarm can only be reset by the presence in the area of a
Supervisor ID Tag.
Supervised Ankle ID Tag PN 201
It is a portable device strapped to the child’s ankle. It is turned
on when it enters the supervised area, and transmits a signal
notifying the Base Unit about its presence. To ensure maximum
safety, this device should be permanently attached to the
child. For this purpose, one time snap bands are included in
the package. These bands need to be cut off to be removed.
Supervisor Ankle ID Tag PN 301
It is a portable device strapped to the designated supervisor’s
ankle. It is turned on when it enters the supervised area, and
transmits a signal notifying the Base Unit about its presence.
This device is the only means to reset an alarm.

System description
poolnanny™ is a system designed primarily for the safety of
children that are in the surroundings of a swimming pool.
It consists of a portable device strapped to each child’s ankle
(Supervised Ankle ID Tag PN 201), a similar one for each adult or
supervisor (Supervisor Ankle ID Tag PN 301), and a Base Unit PN 101
(powered by means of an AC adaptor), as well as a pair of cables
around the supervised area (see figures 1.a and 1.b). An installer’s
device (Set-up Tester PN 801) is provided to installers on request, to aid
them in the adjustment process after installing the system.

User Guide
The portable units are similar to a wrist watch in shape, size, and
weight.
When both of the following conditions:
A. a Supervised ID Tag is in the supervised area.
B. no Supervisor ID Tag is in the supervised area,
poolnanny™ activates an alarm. Once activated, the alarm will
be turned off only when a Supervisor ID Tag enters the supervised
area (regardless of the presence of a Supervised ID Tag in it), or by
pressing the menu key in the Base Unit.

Operation
Once the system is installed (by following the Installation Guide),
the only thing the user has to take care of is that the Supervisor ID
Tags that will be used in the supervised area are registered in the
Base Unit. For that matter, see menu option “REC. SUPERVISOR”,
page 7.
Once you exit the menu, the system will display “SYSTEM READY”
and, as soon as it detects the presence of a registered Supervisor
ID Tag in the supervised area, it will display “SUPERVISED”. It will
display “CHILDREN” and turn on the alarm (activating the relay
output) if it detects the presence of a Supervised ID Tag in the
absence of a registered Supervisor ID Tag. (1)
The Base Unit can also display the current time ( see menu option
“SHOW CLOCK”, page 9.)
Never unplug the base unit.
It is advised that the supervisor be the last person to leave the
supervised area, to avoid false alarms.
(1) Be aware that if the auxiliary input is enabled and has been
connected to other sensor or system, the warning signal may be
activated by this sensor or system, without poolnanny™ Base Unit
showing any alarm condition.
