1.2 External cable connection method
Camera external inlet cables are all connected to
RS485 lightning protection adapter, which is connected
to the camera through a 0.8-meter-long RJ45 cable
with crystal heads at both ends.
Fig 1.1 RS485 lightning protection adapter
K1: RJ45 socket
K2: NC socket
K3: Output and input terminal of RS485
(output and input can be arbitrary selected)
K4: 12VDC input terminal
K5: 12VDC input terminal
JP1: BUS matching resistor of RS485
D4: Status indicator
Power connector
Please carefully check the power supply voltage and
current. The power supply voltage for the camera is
12VDC and the current must be 2A or more. External
power supply should be connected to 12VDC input
terminal (any one of K4 or K5, but can not connect
both at the same time).
RJ45 cable
Connect one end of RJ45 cable (supplied
accessories) to RJ45 socket of the camera and
another end of RJ45 cable to K1 socket.
Video cable
Video signal is transmitted through a coaxial cable
with its BNC plug connecting to K2 socket.
BUS connection of RS485 lightning protection
adapter
Data cable is connected to K3, output terminal is
connected to next device in BUS. Positive pole and
negative pole of data cable are connected to "A" and
"B" terminal respectively.

1.3 Protocol and address code setup
Control protocol, baud rate and camera address code
should be configured before installation. There are two
switches on PCB.
1.3.1 Switch for protocol and baud rate
Setup protocol and baud rate
Switch for camera type
Switch for NTSC/PAL
1.3.2 Setup address code
Address code of the camera should be configured
before using. Address code (ID) can be setup through
ten-digital dial switch on PCB which uses binary 8421
code. Maximum encoded address is 255, switch ON
stands for 1, OFF for 0.
Setup address code
№1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Address
code
1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128
The definition of address code is listed in above table:
switch №1 stands for route 1, switch №2 for route 2,
switch №3 for route 4, etc. To set required route №,
just switch corresponding switch to ON. If the required
route number can not be represented by one switch,
just sum up needed switches.
For example: for route 1, switch №1 to ON.
Another example: for route 37, switch №1, 3, 6 (stands
for 1, 4 and 32 respectively) to ON.

①External power supply should be connected to
12VDC input terminal of RS485 lightning
protection adapter (any one of K4 or K5, but can
not connect both at the same time);
②Connect one end of RJ45 cable (supplied
accessories) to RJ45 socket of the camera and
another end of RJ45 cable to K1 socket of RS485
lightning protection adapter;
③Connect A, B terminal of RS485 BUS to A, B
terminal of system BUS respectively. Up to 32
decoders or other devices (high speed camera, or
constant speed camera) can be connected to BUS.
④Control BUS should use shielded twisted-pair
cable with shield ground. Thickness of the cable is
related to required BUS length. For long distance,
thick cable (0.75-1mm2) should be used; for short
distance, thin cable with diameter≥0.2 mm2 can be
used.
