• INSTALLING SAFETY
GUARD (FIG. 1)
1. Your Hedge Trimmer
comes fully assembled
except for the safety guard.
2. To assemble safety guard,
align holes in safety guard
(A) to holes in hedge trim-
mer and fix with screws (B)
provided.
• SWITCH (FIG. 2)
For your safety, this hedge trimmer is designed with a two
hand safety switch. If you only squeeze one trigger, the
trimmer will not be actuated. To turn the trimmer ON,
squeeze both triggers at the same time. To turn the trim-
mer OFF, simply release either trigger.
• POWER CORD
To prevent the power cord (A) from disconnecting from
the hedge trimmer, loop the cord around the recessed
hook and pull gently to tighten. (See Fig. 3)
• TRIMMING INSTRUCTIONS
1. EXTENSION CORD. Always keep extension cord
behind trimmer and away from the trimming
operation. Never drape it over a hedge being
trimmed. If you cut or damage the cord, unplug it at
the electrical outlet immediately, before inspecting
or repairing cord.
2. WORKING POSITION. Maintain proper footing and
balance and do not overreach. Wear safety
goggles, non-skid footwear and rubber gloves when
trimming. Hold the tool firmly in both hands and turn
the tool ON. Always hold the trimmer, as shown in
the illustrations, with one hand on the body handle
and one hand on the front handle. Never hold the
tool by the blade guard.
3. TRIMMING NEW GROWTH. A wide, sweeping
motion, feeding the blade teeth through the twigs is
most effective. A slight downward tilt of the blade, in
the direction of motion gives the best cutting. (Fig. 4)
4. LEVEL HEDGES. To obtain exceptionally level
hedges, a piece of string can be stretched along the
length of the hedge as a guide.
5. SIDE-TRIMMING HEDGES. Hold the trimmer as
shown and begin at the bottom and sweep up. (Fig. 5)

• BLADE LUBRICATION
For easier operation and
longer blade life, lubricate the
garden trimmer blade before
and after each use. Apply light
machine oil along the edge of
the blade bar. (Fig. 6)
Your trimmer should be stopped, disconnected and oiled
occasionally during use.
1. The cutting blades are made from high quality, hard-
ened steel and with normal usage, they will not require
resharpening. However, if you accidentally hit a wire
fence, stones, glass or other hard objects, you may put
a nick in the blade. There is no need to remove this nick
as long as it does not interfere with the movement of
the blade. If it does interfere, unplug unit and use a fine
toothed file or sharpening stone to remove the nick.
2. If you drop the trimmer, carefully inspect it for dam-
age. If the blade is bent, housing cracked, or handles
broken or if you see any other condition that may affect
the trimmer’s operation contact an authorized service
center for repairs before putting it back into use.
3. Fertilizers and other garden chemicals contain agents
which greatly accelerate the corrosion of metals. Do
not store the tool on or adjacent to fertilizers or chemi-
cals.
4. With the unit unplugged, use only mild soap and a
damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get
inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into
a liquid.
SERVICING DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCE
In this double-insulated appliance, two systems of insula-
tion are provided instead of grounding. No grounding
means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor
should a means for grounding be added to the appliance.
There are no owner serviceable parts insidel. A double-
insulated appliance is marked with the words, “DOUBLE
INSULATION” or “DOUBLE INSULATED”. The symbol
(square within a square) may also be marked on the appli-
ance.
Any service must only be carried out by a qualified tech-
nician at an authorized service centre.
1. Place switch in “OFF” position and unplug the power
supply before the appliance is serviced, cleaned or
maintenance is performed.
2. Keep air intake clean and air vents free of debris to
avoid overheating the motor.
3. Clean with a damp sponge and mild soap. Do not
squirt with water, hose with water or other liquids.
4. No lubrication is necessary as the motor is equipped
with lifetime lubricated bearings.
5. If the blower does not operate, turn switch to “OFF”
position and disconnect extension from power sup-
ply first, then from blower. Check power supply for
blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Do not
attempt to repair it yourself. There are no serviceable
parts inside.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Before lubricating, be sure your
garden trimmer is disconnected from the power
supply. Failure to do so can result in accidental
starting, causing serious personal injury.
Fig. 6
IMPORTANT: To assure product SAFETY
and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and
adjustments should be performed by an
authorized service center using identical
replacement parts.
