OPERATION
InternalBattery

representative.Pleasecontactyourproductand/orserviceproviderforinternal
batteryreplacementservice.
PoweringONandOFF
ToactivatetheTablet,pushandquicklyreleasethePowerButton.Thedisplay
willcomeoninafewseconds.ToputtheTabletinStandbymode,pushand
quicklyreleasethePowerButton.ToturntheTabletoff forextendedstorage,
poweroff safelyusinganysoftwarefunctionthat“shutsdowncomputer”
providedinthesoftwareoperatingsystem.
AlwaysexercisecarewhenoperatingandhandlingtheTablet.
DoNOTapplyexcessivepressuretothedisplayscreen.
WerecommendusingtheStylusprovidedtokeepthescreenclean.
Avoidprolongedexposureofthedisplaypaneltoanystrongheatsource.
Whereverpossible,theTabletshouldfaceawayfromdirectlighttoreduce
glare.
IftheAC‐DCpoweradapterisusedtorechargeorpowerthetablet,doNOT
useanyAC‐DCadapterotherthantheoneprovidedwiththetabletor
acquiredfromthemanufactureroritspartners.
Intheunlikelyeventthatsmoke,abnormalnoise,orstrangeodoris
present,immediatelypoweroff theTabletanddisconnectallpower
sources.Reporttheproblemtoyourdeviceproviderimmediately.
NeverattempttodisassembletheTablet,asthiswillvoidthewarranty.
Precautions
NOTE:Thebatterypacksshippedwithyourtabletmaybelowinpower—pleaseuse
theAC‐DCadapterwiththeTabletwhensettingupforthefirsttimetofullycharge
theinternalbatterypack.Youmaychargetheexternalbatterypackwithitattached
totheTablet,orwiththeoptionalexternalbatterychargerkit.
NOTE:Whenthebatterypack(s)is(are)charging,theblue‐coloredBatteryLED
shouldblinkslowly.IfpluggingintheAC‐DCadapterdoesnottriggerthisblinking
activityandtheLEDstaysdark,thebatterypack(s)mayhavebeendrained
substantially.Tryunplugging/repluggingtheAC‐DCadaptertotheTabletafewtimes
toactivatethechargingprocess.
NOTE:Toconservepower,use(pushandquickrelease)thePowerButtontoputin
“Standby”modewhilenotinuse.Pushingbrieflyonthesamebuttonwillwakeup
thesystemwithinseconds.
NOTE:AvoidusingthePowerButton(“hold4+seconds”feature)toturnoff the
tablet—thisformofhardwareshutdownisintendedtobeameansofrecoveryfrom
lockups,andnotasnormaloperation.
StartUp
Ifthepowerup(fromStandbyorotherwise)issuccessful,theappropriateinterface
willbedisplayedafteralaunchsequenceofseveralseconds.ThewirelessLAN
connectionmaytake10‐15secondstobeestablished.
ConfiguringtheT9i
Thetabletmaybeconfiguredusingtheutilitiesandmethodsdictatedbythe
softwareoperatingsystem.TheTabletshouldbeconfigurableforvariousproperties
suchasuserprofiles,networkfeatures,andseveralsystemelements.
BasicFeatures
TheTabletwirelesstabletintegratesabrightandresponsivetouchdisplay,1USB
port,andembeddednetworkingelementssuchasWi‐Fioroptional3G.TheTablet
iscomplementedbyasuiteofaccessories,includingbatteryexpansion,docking
cradles,andwall/vehiclemountcradles,foracomprehensiveuserexperience.
ATablettypicallyintegratesan802.11Wi‐Fiadapterthatmayconnecttoother
wirelessdevicesoraccesspoints.IfyourTabletdoesnotcomewithsuchanetwork
adapter,pleaseconsultyourdeviceprovidertoestablishthedesirednetwork
connectivity.

Calibration
ThetouchdisplayfortheTabletiscalibratedbeforeshipping.Intheeventthat
thecalibrationhasbeenmodifiedorisunsatisfactory,therespectivecalibration
routines(e.g.,PenMount(PM)tocalibratethetouchinterfacemaybeused.Such
applicationsaretypicallyexecutedthroughtouchinputviaStylusorthrough
mouseclickviaaUSBmouse.
ButtonManagement
Wheresupportedbysoftware,manyofthehardbuttonsontheTabletare
programmabletoperformafunctionoftheuser’schoice.Toactivatethebutton
re‐assignmentapplication,invoketheButtonManagerapplication.
WirelessNetworking
Wi‐Fi
TheTabletisoftendeliveredwithanembedded(user‐inaccessible)
802.11a/b/g/nWi‐Fiadapterequippedwithahiddencustomantenna.
ThroughthesupportoftypicalWi‐Fiadapters,theTabletshouldbeable
todetectall802.11accesspointsinthevicinityforyoutoselectthe
accesspointofyourchoiceforconnection.
TheSSIDandWEP/WPA/WPA2(ifenabled)parametersontheTablet
andtheaccesspointshavetomatch.TheSSIDiscase‐sensitiveanditis
recommendedthatyouenableWEP/WPA/WPA2encryption(or
advancedalternatives)forsecureaccess.
WhenWEP/WPA/WPA2isenabled,youmayneedtoconsultyour
networkadministratororyournetworkingequipmentliteratureto
properlyconfigureassociatedsettingssuchasAuthenticationmode,
etc.
Refertotheaccesspointoperatingmanualsforsettingupthe802.11
accesspoints.
BrightnessControl
Tocontrolthescreenbrightness,launchtheSystemUtility.TheSystemscreenwill
displayaBrightnesscontrolsectionwithupanddownarrowsthatcanbeactivated
withthestylus.
BatteryandPowerManagement
TheTabletisequippedwithaninternalLi‐Ionbatterypackandanoptionalbatterypackthat
clips(hot‐pluggable)ontothebackofthetablet.Theperiodbetweenbatteryrechargescan
besignificantlylengthenedbyputtingthetabletintoStandbymodethroughthePower
Button(seeButtonsFunctionTable)wheneverthetabletisnotinuse.Dependingonthe
operatingsoftware,theT9imayalsobeconfiguredtoentervariouspower‐savingmodesvia
thePowerButtonorthroughtimedentry.
PeripheralsSupport
ThroughitsUSBport,theTabletsupportsawiderangeofUSB‐basedperipherals.These
peripheralsareapplicableforsoftwareinstallation,applicationsstorage,datastorage,
dockingorsoftwarerecoveryandupdate.
TheTabletiscomplementedbyanoptionalDesktopCradleorWall/VehicleMountCradlefor
support,pass‐throughcharging,andconnectiontoarangeofUSBperipherals,including
keyboardandmouse.TheCradlesofferthefollowinginterfaces:aDC‐inportfortheAC‐DC
adapter,anEthernetport,videooutputsandUSBports.AlwaysseattheTabletsecurelyonto
thecradle.ThecradlemustbepoweredbytheAC‐DCadapterfortheEthernetandUSBports
tofunction.ThebatterypacksontheTabletmayberechargedbyconnectingtheAC‐DC
adapterdirectlytotheDC‐inportontheTabletorthroughtheDC‐inportontheCradlewhile
theTabletisdocked.
UsingT9i

RemoteManagement
Dependingonsoftwareconfiguration,theTabletcanbecentrallymanagedfor
assetmonitoringandforsoftwarecontrol.Pleaseconsultyourdeviceprovider.
ForMoreSupport
IftheTabletcomeswithaWWANmodule,pleasecontactyourproductand/orservice
providerfortheSIMCardinstallationprocedures.
FederalCommunicationCommission
FederalCommunicationCommissionInterferenceThisdevicehasbeentested
andfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuanttoPart
15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotection

Increasetheseparationbetweentheequipmentandreceiver.
ToHoldtheTablet
Lefthand:griptheleftbacksideofthetabletwithyourlefthandfourindexfingers,withthumbrestingonthetopofthebacksideofthetabletand
palmsecurelyagainsttheback.
Righthand:griptherightbacksideofthetabletwithyourrighthandfourindexfingers,withthumbrestingonthetopofthebacksideofthetabletand
palmsecurelyagainsttheback.
Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthat
towhichthereceiverisconnected.
Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.
Changesormodificationsnotexpresslyapprovedbythepartyresponsible
forcompliancecouldvoidtheuser‘sauthoritytooperatetheequipment.
