Safety instructions
When employing the telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-
System©, it is important to be aware of all hazards.
The Leitertec-System© is designed to make working with
telescopic ladders and standard ladders safer. The Leitertec-
System© is expressly not sold as a safety component.
There is always a risk of falling from the telescopic ladder or a
risk of the telescopic ladder slipping in spite of the Leitertec-
System©. This can cause personal injury, material damage and
harm to animals in the area of the telescopic ladder.
Using the telescopic ladder and Leitertec-System© presents an
heightened risk of crushing and shearing.
All work with and on the telescopic ladder and work with the
Leitertec-System© must be carried out in such a way that the
hazard is kept as low as possible.
The telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System© may only be
used for light tasks at low height and for short periods.
Maintain a secure hold when climbing up, when working on
the telescopic ladder and when climbing down.
The national regulations must be observed without fail.
Handle the telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System© with
care. In the event of damage of any kind, do not use the
telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System©.
Children and adults with mental and physical disabilities/
impairments must not use the Leitertec-System.

Page 5 Version 1.0 eng
When transporting ladders, ensure that they are secured/
attached in an appropriate manner to prevent damage.
Make sure that children have no access to the erected
telescopic ladder.
Never actuate the locking mechanism of the rungs when
working with the telescopic ladder.
Do not use the telescopic ladder if a locking mechanism is not
engaged correctly.
Do not move the telescopic ladder when a person is standing
on it.
Use the Leitertec-System© only in pairs.
The Leitertec-System© must be accessible from the ground in
order to be able to release the vacuum cups by hand if
necessary. Use at greater heights only with felt pads.
Damaged suction cups, connecting arms and linchpins must no
longer be used. Replace in pairs.
Always inspect the products for damage before using the
Leitertec-System© and telescopic ladder.

Pictograms:
Read the instructions in full.
Note the maximum load of 150 kg.
Adhere to the leaning angle of 65°-75°.
The telescopic ladder may only be accessed by one
person.
The telescopic ladder may only be used in the prescribed
direction.
Maintain a secure hold when climbing up, climbing down
and working on the telescopic ladder.
Only use the telescopic ladder on even, firm ground that is
not slippery.

Page 7 Version 1.0 eng
Do not lean over to the side.
Climbing over to the side is prohibited.
Wear suitable footwear.
When climbing up the telescopic ladder, pay attention to
the risk of collision, e.g. with pedestrians, vehicles or
doors. Secure doors (but not emergency exits) and
windows in the working area.
Telescopic ladders are not suitable for working on live
cables.
Never use the top three rungs. If the telescopic ladder is
not pulled out completely, view rungs pressed up close to
each other as one rung.
Certain health conditions, medication, alcohol or drug
abuse can impair safety during use of the telescopic
ladder.
In the event of damage of any kind, do not use the
telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System©.

Page 8 Version 1.0 eng
Face the telescopic ladder when climbing up and down it.
Objects that need to be transported when climbing up the
telescopic ladder should be easy to handle and be light of
weight.
Do not position ladders from above.
Erect standard ladders against flat, firm surfaces.
There should be no debris/contaminants on the ground.
Do not use the telescopic ladder as a bridge.
Crushing hazard!
Hand and finger injuries can occur.
Carefully operate the lever on the vacuum suction device,
especially when releasing the vacuum.

Operation
Handling the ladder
-Always start with the bottom rung when pulling out
the rungs.
-Release the belt and pull out the first rung. Ensure
when doing this that the locking mechanism is
engaged on both sides.
-Repeat the procedure until the desired height is
reached.
-Once the height is reached, check again that all locking
mechanisms are engaged.
-Erect the telescopic ladder and ensure that the leaning
angle is 65°-75°, correct as necessary.
-The ground must be even and not slippery.
-The surface onto which the ladder is leant must be
even, dry and dust-free.
-The surface onto which the ladder is leant must be able
to withstand the pressure of leaning and building up
the vacuum of the ladder without any doubt.
-The telescopic ladder is ready to be climbed.
Handling the telescopic ladder with
Leitertec-System©
To mount the Leitertec-System© on the telescopic ladder, both
end caps must be removed from the ladder stiles. This may
prove difficult at first. Use a suitable tool if necessary to make
this easier.

Page 10 Version 1.0 eng
Before each use, check whether the pins in the telescopic
ladder return to their home position.
The ground must be clean and dust-free. The surface must be
flat and not open-pored.
Using on smooth surfaces
-Insert connecting
arm (1) in suction
cup (2).
-Push in linchpin (3)
and engage securing
bar (4).
Attention! Special
care due to danger of
pinching!

Page 11 Version 1.0 eng
-Push the Leitertec-
System© (1) into the
telescopic ladder from
above as shown in the
figure. The system
must engage audibly.
Check by pulling the
Leitertec-System© (1)
whether the system is
correctly engaged in
the telescopic ladder.
-Position the telescopic
ladder as required so
that the suction cups
face the smooth
surface.
-Generate a vacuum in
the cups by throwing
the levers (1).
-If it is not possible to
generate a vacuum on
a smooth surface, a
little water on the
rubber of the suction
cup can help.

Page 12 Version 1.0 eng
-Before accessing the telescopic ladder, check whether
the suction cups have taken hold. Check at regular
intervals during use that the
suction cups are still
holding.
-To release the vacuum,
throw the levers back to
their home position.
Attention! Special care
due to danger of pinching!
-Carefully lift the vacuum
suction from the side.
-To remove, pull the
Leitertec-System© (1)
upwards and turn outwards by 90° respectively.
Using on rough surfaces
The felt pads act as a surface protector.
-Lay the felt pad on the suction cup so that it is flush all
around. When doing this, the smooth surface of the felt
pad must be in contact with the rubber and the felt
must point away from the suction cup.
-Actuate the suction cup by throwing the lever.
-Check that the felt pad is correctly attached to the
suction cup
-Proceed as described above

Service
The telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System© must be
checked and serviced at regular intervals.
The telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System© must be kept
free of dirt at all times. Foreign matter can make it difficult to
push the telescopic ladder together and can interfere with the
bonding qualities of the Leitertec-System©.
Clean the telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System©
immediately in the event of soiling.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Simply add some
detergent to a damp cloth and use it to wipe the telescopic
ladder and Leitertec-System© clean.
Regularly inspect the telescopic ladder for damage and have it
professionally repaired if any damage is found. Never use
damaged ladders.
Inspect all components for damage and replace if necessary.
Have suction cups and felt pads renewed by specialist
personnel only.
The intervals for servicing and cleaning depend on the
frequency and intensity of use. The telescopic ladder and
Leitertec-System© must generally be checked before each use.

Page 14 Version 1.0 eng
Transport and storage
Only transport the telescopic ladder when it is fully pushed
together.
Stow the Leitertec-System© in the bag as described in the
contents.
All components must be protected from the weather and stored
dry.
Furthermore, it is important to prevent unauthorised access by
third parties, e.g. children.
Packaging and disposal
Dispose of the packaging according to the applicable national
regulations.
If the components need to be disposed of, this must be carried
out according to the applicable regulations.
Aluminium is a high quality material and must be recycled.
