Indication Panel
Operation Manual
The operating manual describes the operating principle, opera-
tional and maintenance conditions pertaining to indication panel
Astra-931 (hereinafter “IP”).
The manufacturer reserves the right to make alteration regarding
refinement of the product without prior notification. All changes
will be imported into new edition of the operation manual.
1 Function
1.1 Indication panel is intended for indicating numbers and infor-
mation on battery discharge of wireless transmitters Astra-TRC,
Astra-TRC ver. M (hereinafter referred to as the “transmitter”),
operating together with the wireless receiver (the receiver) of
wireless alarm system “Astra-R”.
The transmitter number is the ordinal number under which the
transmitter is registered in the receiver.
1.2 IP can store and display (by sequential enumeration) up to 99
transmitter numbers.
1.3 IP provides for forced reset of acquired info.
1.4 Information is not stored once the IP power supply is switched
off.

4 Structure
Structurally, IP is comprised of a base, a printed circuit board with
radio elements, and a cover, attached to the base with a screw
(Fig. 1). A safety plug covers the screw.

5 Operating Principle
5.1 In the initial condition, the “-” symbol is displayed in each digit
on the IP display.
5.2 Once the receiver sends –via serial interface –a number and
battery discharge information of a transmitter, the IP display shows
the transmitter number, and a 4 s sound signal. From that moment
IP will generate a 1 s sound signal every 4 s.
5.3 The number of the transmitter with the battery discharged
below the level, given in Astra-TRC and Astra-TRC ver. M operat-
ing manuals, is displayed in the pulse mode.
5.4 When another number is sent from the receiver, this new
number is displayed on the IP display, and a 4 sec. sound signal.

5.5 If two or more numbers are received, the IP display will se-
quentially enumerate all of the numbers received. Each number
will be displayed for 4 s. A 1 s sound signal will be generated every
time a new number is being displayed.
5.6 To delete stored numbers, press the IP button when the
number to be deleted is being displayed. Once the button is
pressed, the sound signal for the number will no longer be gener-
ated. When the button is pressed while the number is being dis-
played, such number is deleted from the display and the memory
simultaneously and not earlier than 10 min after the last time the
button was pressed.
5.7 If all numbers are deleted, the “-” symbol will be displayed in
each digit of the IP display.
6 Installation Procedure
6.1 IP shall be installed at least 5 m from the receiver, in a place
convenient for observation:
a) Unscrew the mounting screw, remove the cover and gain
access to mounting holes of the IP base by removing the printed
circuit board;
b) Mark the location and mounting holes as per Fig. 3;
Fig. 3
c) Pull power supply and receiver wires through the dedicated
wire insertion hole in the IP base;
d) Reattach the IP base;
e) Place the printed circuit board back into its position;
f) Connect IP to an external stabilized power supply unit with vol-
tage of 10-14 V through “+12V”, “GND”terminals; connect IP ter-
minals “In/Out” and “GND” with terminals “OUT” and “GND” of the
receiver of wireless alarm system “Astra-R”, correspondingly, with
a twisted pair or a shielded wire (the shield must be connected to
terminals “GND”of the receiver and IP);
g) Place the cover back into its position.
7 Pre-Starting Procedure
7.1 IP shall be prepared in the following sequence:
a) If shipping conditions differ from operating conditions, unpack
the device and wait for at least 12 hours under room temperature
before mounting it;
b) Connect the receiver to IP and to the stabilized powersupplyunit,
switch on IP and the receiver, “- -” shall be displayed on the IP
display;
c) Check IP operability:
1) press the button on the transmitter –an ordinal number shall
be displayed on the IP display accompanied bya 4 s sound signal;
2) repeat step 1 for other transmitters registered in the receiver,
determine their ordinal numbers and register location of each
transmitter number in the log;
3) press the IP button –the number, which was displayed when
the button was pressed, will no longer be accompanied by a
sound signal;
4) repeat step 3 for other numbers, make sure that numbers are
deleted from the display in 10 minutes after the button was
pressed for the last time.
8 Labeling
On the label, attached to the case, are specified:
–abbreviated marking of the product;
–firmware version;
–date of manufacture;
–conformity mark (if conformity certificate is available);
–bar-code duplicating the textual information.
