Interface identification
Each DTE interface module has an identification sticker. This sticker displays the following information:
1. company name
2. country of origin
3. month and year of manufacturing
4. interface description
5. sales code
6. PCB revision
7. production batch number.

Connector layout
The Crocus G703 SHDSL interface is provided with two types of connectors:
• two 75 Ohm BNC (coax) connectors
• a 120 Ohm RJ45 connector.
For more information on the connector, refer to:
• figure Fig. 1 for a front view of the interface
• table Tab. 1 for the RJ45 connector layout.
Hardware configuration
The hardware configuration of the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface is done by means of straps. Their posi-
tion on the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface PCB is shown in figure Fig. 2. Their possible settings and cor-
responding function is listed in table Tab. 2. In this table, the default settings are printed in bold.
Strap description
You can connect the application either to the RJ45 connector or to the BNC connectors. Using the straps
you can select between these connectors. In case of the BNC connectors, you can also choose to con-
nect or disconnect the shield of the TX-IN connector to the ground.
Refer to table Tab. 2 for the possible settings and corresponding function of the straps.

Installation
Insert the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in the Crocus modem, then switch the modem on. During this
power-on sequence, the modem …
• identifies the interface (for management purposes)
• downloads software to the interface (only in case of an Nx64k interface).
To insure successful completion of the power-on sequence, follow the installation procedure as
described below.
To insert a Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in a Crocus Table Top (TT) modem, proceed as follows:
To insert a Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in a Crocus Card Version (CV) modem, proceed as follows:
Step Action
1 Make sure the Crocus modem is switched off.
2 Insert the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in the empty
interface slot of the Crocus modem.
Refer to the user manual of the Crocus modem for the
exact insertion procedure.
3 Fasten the screws of the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface.
4 Switch the Crocus modem on.
Step Action
1 Insert the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in an empty inter-
face slot of the CN4 card nest.
Refer to the user manual of the Crocus modem for the exact
insertion procedure.
2 Fasten the screws of the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface.
3 Insert the Crocus Card Version modem in the corresponding empty modem slot of the
CN4 card nest.
Refer to the user manual of the Crocus modem for the exact insertion procedure.
4 Fasten the screws of the Crocus Card Version modem.
5 If the CN4 card nest is not powered yet, then switch the power on.

Firmware support
The Crocus SHDSL modem (TT and CV) supports the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface from firmware ver-
sion T2136/00700 onwards.
Software configuration
Several configuration parameters of the Crocus G703 SHDSL interface can be set. This is done by
means of the Telindus Maintenance Application (TMA) which can be connected to the Crocus modem.

Connector lay-out
De Crocus G703 SHDSL interface is uitgerust met twee soorten connectoren:
• twee 75 Ohm BNC (coax) connectoren
• een 120 Ohm RJ45 connector.

• tabel Tab. 1 voor de RJ45 connector lay-out.
Hardware configuratie
De hardware configuratie van de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface gebeurt met behulp van draadbruggen.
Hun plaats op de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface PCB is te zien in figuur Fig. 2. De mogelijke posities en
overeenkomstige functies zijn opgesomd in tabel Tab. 2. In deze tabel zijn de standaard posities in vet
gedrukt.
Draadbrug omschrijving
Men kan de applicatie verbinden ofwel met de RJ45 connector ofwel met de BNC connectoren. Met
behulp van de draadbruggen kan men de selectie maken tussen deze connectoren. In geval van de BNC
connectoren kan men ook nog kiezen om het afschermingschild van de TX-IN connector al dan niet te
verbinden met de grond.
Zie tabel Tab. 2 voor de mogelijke posities en overeenkomstige functies van de draadbruggen.

Schuif de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in de Crocus modem. Zet daarna de modem aan. Gedurende
deze opstart fase, de modem …
• identificeert de interface (voor management doeleinden)
• laadt software in de interface (dit is enkel het geval voor een Nx64k interface).
Om er zeker van te zijn dat de opstart fase succesvol afgerond wordt, volg de installatie procedure zoals
die hieronder beschreven staat.
Om de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in een Crocus tafelmodel (Table Top of TT) modem te schuiven,
ga als volgt te werk:
Om de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in een Crocus kaartversie (Card Version of CV) modem te schu-
iven, ga als volgt te werk:

1 Verifiëer dat de Crocus modem uitgeschakeld is.
2 Schuif de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface in de lege inter-
face gleuf van de Crocus modem.
Raadpleeg de handleiding van de Crocus modem voor

3 Schroef de vijzen van de Crocus G703 SHDSL interface vast.
4 Schakel de Crocus modem aan.

3 Schuif de Crocus kaartversie modem in de overeenkomstige lege modem gleuf van het
CN4 kaartrek (CN4 Card Nest).

4 Schroef de vijzen van de Crocus kaartversie modem vast.
5 Indien het CN4 kaartrek nog niet gevoed is, schakel dan de voeding aan.

Firmware ondersteuning
De Crocus SHDSL modem (TT en CV) ondersteunt de Crocus G703 SHDSL vanaf firmware versie
T2136/00700.
Software configuratie
Er kunnen verscheidene configuratie parameters ingesteld worden voor de Crocus G703 SHDSL inter-
face. Dit wordt gedaan met behulp van de Telindus beheerssoftware (Telindus Maintenance Application
of TMA) die verbonden kan worden met de Crocus modem. Voor meer informatie betreffende dit onder-

Le connecteur
L'interface Crocus G703 SHDSL est equipée de deux types de connecteurs:
• deux connecteurs BNC (coax) 75 Ohm
• un connecteur RJ45 120 Ohm.
Voyez:
• la figure Fig. 1 pour une vue de face de l'interface
• le tableau Tab. 1 pour l’assignation des signaux sur le connecteur RJ45.
La configuration hardware
La configuration hardware de l'interface Crocus G703 SHDSL se fait au moyen de straps. Leur emplace-
ment sur le circuit imprimé de l'interface Crocus G703 SHDSL est représenté sur la figure Fig. 2. Leurs
différentes positions et les fonctions correspondantes sont décrites dans le tableau Tab. 2. Dans ce tab-
leau, les valeurs par défaut sont imprimées en caractères gras.
Description des straps
Vous pouvez connecter le DTE au connecteur RJ45 ou aux connecteurs BNC. Vous pouvez sélection-
ner les connecteurs avec les straps. Pour les connecteurs BNC, vous pouvez aussi choisir de connecter
ou déconnecter la terre au connecteur TX-IN.
Voyez le tableau Tab. 2 pour les différentes positions et les fonctions correspondantes des straps.

Insérez l'interface Crocus G703 SHDSL dans le modem Crocus et allumez le modem. Pendant la
séquence de démarrage, le modem …

• télécharge un logiciel vers l'interface (seulement en cas d'une interface Nx64k).
Pour s'assurer que la séquence de démarrage se termine bien, suivez la procédure de l'installation
comme décrit ci-dessous.
Insérez l'interface Crocus G703 SHDSL dans le modem Crocus Table Top (TT) comme suit:

Le modem Crocus SHDSL (TT et CV) supporte l’interface Crocus G703 SHDSL à partir de la version de
logiciel T2136/00700.
La configuration logicielle
Plusieurs paramètres configurables de l'interface Crocus G703 SHDSL peuvent être changés. Ceci est
réalisé au moyen de l’Application de Maintenance Telindus (TMA), laquelle peut être connectée au

Anordnung der Verbindungsstecker
Die Crocus G703 SHDSL Schnittstelle hat zwei Arten von Verbindungssteckern:
• zwei 75 Ohm BNC Koaxialsteckverbinder
• ein 120 Ohm RJ45 Verbindungsstecker.

Hardware Konfiguration
Die Hardwarekonfiguration der Crocus G703 SHDSL Schnittstelle erfolgt mittels Drahtbrücken. Ihre
Positionen auf der Crocus G703 SHDSL Schnittstelle PCB wird in Abbildung Fig. 2 gezeigt. Ihre mögli-
chen Einstellungen und korrespondierende Funktion wird in Tabelle Tab. 2 gezeigt. In dieser Tabelle
werden die Standardeinstellungen in Fettdruck gedruckt.
Drahtbrücke umschreibung
Die Drahtbrücken schalten zwischen die Verbindungssteckern RJ45 oder BNC. Für den BNC Verbind-
ungsstecker können Sie auch wählen um dem BNC Verbindungsstecker TX-IN mit der Masse zu
verbinden oder nicht.

Um eine erfolgreiche Startsequenz zu gewährleisten, folgen Sie dem Installationsvorgang wie unter

leeren Schnittstellen-Slot des Gehäuses CN4 hinein.

Der Crocus SHDSL modem (TT und CV) unterstützt die Crocus G703 SHDSL Schnittstelle von
Firmware-Version T2136/00700 an.
Software Konfiguration
Mehrere Parameter der Crocus G703 SHDSL Schnittstelle können eingestellt werden. Dies wird mittels
der Telindus Maintenance Application (TMA) gemacht, welche eine Verbindung zum Crocus Modem
