1. Power your device
Connect the Terabee device to the power adapter provided in the
package.
Once powered, the device is ready for conguration within 10 seconds
The ashing blue LED indicates that the device has switched to the
conguration mode and activates a Wireless Access Point with the
following name and format: AQ-SB5_xx:xx:xx:xx:yy:yy

2. Connect to the WiFi Access Point
From a smartphone or a computer, check for the SSID of the
Air Quality SB5 device (format SB5_MAC address) among the listed
WiFi networks, and connect to this WiFi Access Point using the
following credentials:
Based on the above picture, the WiFi SSID is:
AQ-SB5_94:E6:86:C3:95:08 and the WiFi Password is: SB5_9508
Example of connection:
SSID: AQ-SB5_xx:xx:xx:xx:yy:yy (where x and y represent any
hexadecimal digit)
Password: SB5_yyyy (where yyyy are the last four hexadecimal
digits of the above SSID)

3. Configure your WiFi communication
Once connected to the Air Quality SB5 WiFi Access Point, either:
The graphic of the message can be dierent, depending on the Web
browser
An OS security message may appear due to an error caused by
a certicate missing for a local address. You should not worry, as
this is standard system behavior for local connections and not a
security concern
Ignore the warning and click the Advanced button
type in the URL: https://192.168.4.1 in a Web browser
or scan the QR code on the front page of this guide, and open
the URL in a Web browser

Finally, a popup asks for access authorization
Then click on the link “Proceed to [device URL address]”
The default administrator username is admin, and the default
administrator password is admin. You will be asked later on to
change this password

Disconnect your smartphone or computer from the device’s WiFi
Access Point and reconnect to the WiFi Local Network
You are all set!
WiFi Connection Enter the WiFi local network SSID and password
WiFi restriction: Only a 2.4 GHz WiFi network can be used
Administration Type in an administrator password to secure
the device’s conguration access
While you may keep the default “admin” password, you are
advised to change this password for security reasons
You then enter a conguration window displaying “WiFi connection”
and “Administration” sections:

4. Device configuration
4.1. Web GUI home page
As soon as the WiFi connection is set, the device goes into a 10-minute
warm-up period. During this time, the LED will notify this status with a
steady white color.
Now connect to the WiFi Local Network with your smartphone or
computer, and either:
You now have access to the device Web GUI home page where you can:
You may get the same security messages described earlier when
accessing the device’s WiFi Access Point
You can ignore them, click on the “Advanced” button, then on the
“Proceed to [device URL address]” link
If the device’s LED starts to blink red alternatively with the steady
white color, it means the connection to the WiFi network failed.
The device network needs to be set up through conguration mode
accessible via a short press on the reset button
type in a Web browser the IP address assigned automatically to
the Air Quality SB5 device by the WiFi local network
or scan the QR code on the front page of this guide, and
access the URL as described in section 3

The Air Quality Index rates indoor air quality with a background
color reecting the LED notication
Click the “Refresh” button for a manual refresh of the air
quality metrics. Ticking the box “Enable auto-refresh” enters an
automatic update every 30 seconds

The eight widgets reect the dierent air quality metrics.
Please refer to the User Manual for a detailed description of

4.2. Configuration menu
Click the “Conguration” button to access the authentication window.
Type in the administrator username “admin” and password chosen in
section 3.
Once signed in, you access the conguration window of the sensor

Tab to select the “Congure” menu
The “Push” section regroups the data push settings:
Enter the HTTP or HTTPS push address
The entries “Certicate” and “Skip common name” only appear
for HTTPS URLs. Then set the frequency of the data push
(period of 15 seconds by default)
Finally, select an authentication mode. For more details, please
refer to the User Manual
If you leave the HTTP / HTTPS eld empty, the Air Quality SB5 device
will not push data (LED status and Web GUI access only)
Check this box to tune the LED visual notication intensity and
move the slider to the preferred level, the lowest one turning
the LED o
This checkbox enables MQTT connection to the Terabee
platform for device rmware upgrades and future device
management services when ticked
Click on the “Set Conguration” button to save the setting
changes. Clicking on the “Get Conguration” button will retrieve
and display the settings stored in the device. Press the “Restart
Device” button only if you modify the data push period
Restarting the device will prevent data push for the following 10
minutes. You may want to avoid a device restart if you need to tune
the data push settings rst

5. Wall mount installation
The Air Quality SB5 device can be wall-mounted to monitor, the
breathing zone of an indoor space. Please refer to section 3 of the
User Manual for detailed mounting instructions.
You may use the tracing paper included in the box for the optimal drill
reference of the device on the wall

6. LED notification status
The LED on the device’s front panel indicates the indoor air quality
level with a trac-light system ranging from green (excellent) to
red (poor). The LED may also reect a specic device status: warm-up
period, conguration mode, disconnected from WiFi, or not
pushing data.
During the warm-up period, the LED may switch into an interleaving
mode, reporting the warm-up status and the WiFi connection failure
in a 10 second period. In operation mode, the LED may switch into an
interleaving mode, reporting the device status and air quality level in a
10 second period.

Problem Suggestion
The LED remains o Check if the USB Type-C cable is correctly plugged
in. If OK, try to unplug it and plug again
The LED will switch on after 5 seconds
You may also check in the conguration menu if
the LED brightness has been set to zero
The LED is ashing red No connection to the local WiFi network
Ensure your WiFi router provides a 2.4 GHz
network
Check that the device is within the range of the
WiFi local network
Double-check the WiFi SSID and password in the
conguration mode - read section 8.1
The LED is ashing pink The data push is failing
Check the destination URL correctness, the status
of the internet connection, and the setup of the
destination server
Refer to the User manual to further investigate
the possible root causes of the problem
The device’s home page
is not accessible via the
device’s URL
Make sure that the mDNS protocol is working on
your system. Otherwise, you can access the home
page using the device’s IP address
7. Troubleshooting

8. Reset button
8.1 WiFi configuration mode
The recessed reset button is located at the back of the device, close to
the USB-C connector. Insert a SIM card ejector tool or a paperclip in
the pinhole to access and push this button.
If you still have access to the administration password, switch the
device to conguration mode with a single press on the reset button.
The reset button has a double function depending on the applied
press time:
a short press switches the device into the conguration mode
a long press restores the device’s factory settings

9. APIs
Device management and data-pulling APIs are available to manage the
Terabee Air Quality SB5 device and pull the air quality data. Check for
the APIs section in the User Manual.

8.2 Factory reset
If you wish to restore the factory settings or you forget the device
administrator password, you can force a factory reset with a long
press on the reset button (keep pressing for more than 3 seconds,
then release). The LED blinks red for 3 seconds, then the device
switches to the initial conguration mode.
