Terrarium Control Azure650 Operating and maintenance manual

Safety instructions
Please observe the following strictly:
● Always replace the light or heat source when the mains power cord is unplugged.
● The lamp fixture does not contain user-serviceable parts. Never disassemble the lamp fixture!
Repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel!
● Do not look directly into the light of the lamps!
● Do not use the lamp fixture with loads that exceed the allowed limits!
● The lamp fixture is for indoor use only, it should not be used under water, in wet rooms and at
high humidity!
● Do not use for aquariums!
● Do not use the lamp fixture near flammable materials!
● Do not remove the bottom cover of the lamp fixture!
● If the lamp fixture is damaged, stop using it! Damaged lamp fixture must be replaced
immediately.
● Handle the lamp fixture carefully and always use it as intended! Protect it bumps, shocks, falls
because they may be injured or will not function properly!
● Cleaning must be carried out with the mains power cord disconnected. Do not use harsh
chemicals for cleaning! Clean it gently with a slightly damp cloth.
● When servicing or maintenance in a terrarium, be sure to disconnect the mains power of the lamp
fixture!
● Do not use the lamp fixture through glass due to the effect loss of light and heat! Access to the
light and heat source toward the terrarium shall be provided, eg. through metal mesh or densely
perforated metal sheet!
● Do not use the lamp fixture for plastic mesh terrariums os flexariums as the heat generated by
lighting and heating source can cause a fire!
● When designing the terrarium, make sure that the animal does not touch the lamp fixture. The
use of metal mesh or densely perforated metal sheet is recommended.
● Do not cover the lamp fixture!
● It warms up during use. Do not touch immediately during operation or after power off!
● Immediately remove a faulty or malfunctioning light or heat source from the lamp fixture.
● If any part of the lamp fixture gets wet, disconnect it immediately!
● Make sure that the light or heat source of the lamp fixture is not focused on any plastic object in
the terrarium!
Use in harsh conditions is not allowed. In such circumstances:
● water directed at it (dripping or splashing),
● air humidity too high (> 95 %),
● ambient temperature too high (> 40 °C),
● presence of large amounts of dust and flammable gases, vapors and solvents,
● input voltage outside the range of 220...240 V,
● input frequency outside the range of 50...60 Hz.

Design and application
The Azure650 lamp fixture is used for assuring the living conditions close to the natural for the pets living
in terrarium. Thanks to the aluminum casing, it has a long life.
This equipment can be connected to a 230 V∼/ 50 Hz mains power using a C13 and plug connector
cable:
In design, we have focused on maximizing the efficiency of different light sources with regard to
appearance and safety. To this end, a reflective plate is placed inside the lamp fixture, and down
oriented sockets ensure a more efficient use of light and heat. The cutouts on the top of the lamp fixture
facilitate the exchange of terrarium air through the flow of natural cold and warm air. Good heat
dissipation and fit to the terrarium as well as the overall view of the terrarium and the lamp fixture were
also important aspects.
The side E27 sockets are designed to be directed downwards. In this way, the effect of the light or heat
source used in it is much more utilized. In order to make better use of UV light, a reflective plate was
installed, which also directs the rays towards the terrarium.
1 E27 left socket
2 G5 sockets for T5 tube
3 E27 right socket
Three types of light or heat sources can be selected, and additional heating and humidification can be
connected to the power sockets on the rear panel. The loads on the outputs can be 230V equipment.
Each power socket performs on-off switching, no dimmed output available.

Light or heat sources that can be placed in sockets should be selected according to the needs of our pet
living in the terrarium, taking into account its power and type of light. The operating time of each light
source depends on the animal's needs and the type chosen. Please consult the breeder or the seller
before use. Any wrong light source cannot meet the animal's related needs, and in extreme cases the
animal may die!
Attention! Never use a load with a higher power rating (bulb, heater, humidifier)!
Temperature control requires a sensor to be connected to the sensor plug socket.

Temperature accuracy: ±0.5 °C
Temperature resolution: 0.1 °C

It is advisable to take into account the animal's frequent location and to select the appropriate socket and
light source accordingly. Please pay close attention to ensure that the light and heat source enter the
terrarium! UV light through glass loses its effectiveness. Place the lamp fixture over a metal mesh or
densely perforated metal plate. Contact the terrarium manufacturer, the animal breeder or the seller if
necessary. The metal mesh or densely perforated plate also prevents the animal from contacting the
lamp.

Loads with maximum power:
● E27 socket on the left, up to 80 W
● E27 socket on the right, up to 10 W (LED bulb)
● G5 socket, up to 24 W (550mm T5 or T5HO fluorescent lamp)
● heater socket of the rear panel up to 400 W
● humidifier socket of the rear panel up to 400 W
When installing the loads, consider the day and night location of the animal. To do this, consult your
terrarium maker, breeder or seller. When setting up the terrarium, also consider the animal's needs and
the physical design of the lamp fixture. A lamp emitting in the wrong place or direction loses its
effectiveness. Observe the effective distance specified by the manufacturer of the light or heat source.

Installation steps
● Insert the light sources of your choice into the appropriate socket. Take care of the maximum
allowed power level!
● The T5 fluorescent lamp is very fragile, handle with care!
installation of T5 fluorescent lamp
removal of T5 fluorescent lamp
● Place the prepared lamp fixture on top of the terrarium so that the light sources are down. Pay
attention to the position of the lamp fixture on the metal mesh or perforated metal plate on the top
of the terrarium. Light and heat must enter through it the terrarium!
● Fluorescent tubes are hazardous waste! Please do not dispose of in municipal waste, but in
designated waste disposal sites.
● If necessary, check the position of the silicone rubber at the bottom of the lamp fixture. This
ensures that the equipment is properly adhered to the glass parts of the terrarium.
● Connect the mains power cord and turn it on.
● If you want to use the heating function, connect a heater (heating cable, heater rock, heater plate)
to the heating output and place the sensor at the point of the terrarium where you want to
measure the temperature and humidity. Connect the sensor plug to the socket on the rear of the
lamp fixture. To achieve the set temperature only the heater output is actuated by the controller, it
does not affect the light or heat source connected to the timed sockets!
● Make sure that no water (splashing, dripping) reaches the sensor!
● Do not expose the sensor to direct heat radiation!
● Do not expose the sensor to direct UV radiation!
● If the temperature and humidity are not displayed, please contact us. Without the sensor, the
controller can perform timer tasks (E27 left, E27 right, T5 and humidifier sockets).
● In the menu system, set the desired on / off times, temperature and humidification frequency for
each socket. For information on menu options, see Menu system.
● The humidifier output only works between Sunrise
time and Sunset
time.
● Check the temperature in the terrarium several times a day to prevent harm to the animal. If the
area is too hot, adjust the heating settings in the menu system and / or use a lower power heat or
light source.
● Remember to adjust the settings to the needs of the animal in the terrarium. Check with your
dealer or breeder.

Menu system
The controller we have developed can be configured in the menu system. This makes it very flexible to
meet the needs of animals kept in various terrariums. The settings work with daily repetition. They do not
need to be re-set in the event of a power failure. All the controller settings can be accessed with the
rotary button.
1 display
2 rotary button
Functions of the rotary button:
● clockwise turn increase or change a value
● counter-clockwise turn decrease or change a value
● push OK or next
Using the rotary button and menu system is intuitive. After a few trials you can easily discover and
manage it. The display shows animated icons for outputs in operation. The menu settings can be refined
empirically.
