TerraTec offers firmware updates for products at irregular intervals. New firmware
contains solutions for commonly occurring problems and questions, and sometimes
new functions - so it pays to update. You can read about the changes offered in a
firmware update beforehand in the “Release notes” on the website. We’ll show you
how you can carry out the software update.
To back up the favourites please use the software Favourites Commander which is
available on the TerraTec webside:

A guide how to back up and restore the favourites is included in this download.
Firmware update via web interface
Steps Description
1. BACKING UP THE NETWORK
SETTINGS AND FAVOURITES WITH
“NOXON FAVOURITES
COMMANDER”
Before an update that resets the network settings of your
device (which is only the case for particular updates),
please ensure that you have made a note of the required
access data to use later during the setup! Also back up
your favourites using the “NOXON Favourites Comman-
der” program. Otherwise, the favourites can be lost dur-
ing the update process and have to be set up again.
2. LOAD THE CURRENT
FIRMWARE
Visit the Support pages at http://www.terratec.de to
download the firmware data package for your NOXON.
You have to unpack the data package before use.
3. DETERMINE THE “IP
ADDRESS”OF YOUR NOXON
(THE ADDRESS THAT IDENTIFIES
YOUR DEVICE IN THE NETWORK)
Open your NOXON’s setup menu using the or the
button and select “Device status”. From there, search for
the entry “Software address / IP”.

4. CALL UP THE NOXON’S
OWN WEB INTERFACE
Likewise, you can update the firmware on your device
via NOXON’s own Web interface. On a PC in the same
network, open an Internet browser (such as Internet Ex-
plorer) and enter the IP address you determined in 3
into the address bar. You should now see the NOXON’s
Web interface. The update works under all operating sys-
tems. On Apple computers, we recommend using either
Camino or Firefox for the update. Both are available as a
free download at www.mozilla.org.
5. START FIRMWARE UPDATE Click “Firmware Update”. Your device switches to update
mode within a few seconds.
6. CHOOSE FIRMWARE Click “Browse” and select the appropriate firmware for
your device saved in step 2.
7. START THE UPDATE Click “Upload” to start the firmware check.
8. CONFIRM THE SELECTION Once the firmware has been successfully checked by the
device, a pop-up dialogue asks you to confirm. This be-
gins the actual transfer, which can take up to 3 minutes.

9. DONE!After a successful update, the device restarts automati-
cally. It may be necessary to repeat the network config-
uration of your device now. To do so, follow the steps in
your manual.
10. REIMPORTING THE
FAVOURITES
Optionally: If you have backed up your favourites before
the update, all that’s left to do is to transfer them back to
the NOXON.
