Radio with alarm function and iPod interface
iTeufel Radio v2
iPod is a trade name of Apple Inc. that is
registered in the USA and other countries.
The iPod described in these instructions is
not included in the product contents.
“Made for iPod” means that an electronic device was specially designed
for connecting to an iPod and that it meets all Apple performance
standards. Apple is not responsible for the functioning of this device,
compliance with safety standards and compliance with legal provisions.

Warranty conditions
2 year warranty for amplifiers and electronic equipment
from date of purchase covers materials and workmanship,
excludes damage caused by improper use or electrical
or mechanical overload. Proof of warranty is the original
of our invoice. This warranty applies solely to loudspeak-
ers, amplifiers and electronics purchased from Teufel by
an end user for private use. The warranty is not valid for
loudspeakers, amplifiers and electronics, which pass to
an end user via a third party merchant. In the case of a
private re-sale of Teufel products, the warranty may be
transferred to the purchaser as long as the original proof
of purchase is also passed on to the purchaser.
Returns
Teufel provides the right to exchange or return within
eight weeks with refund of the purchase price paid.

If you need to return your goods please do not act with-
out first speaking to Lautsprecher Teufel.
We can only process or accept your returns if you give
us prior notification by telephone and discuss how to

Proper use
Only use the unit as described in these instructions. Any
other use will be deemed as not in accordance with the
instructions and may lead to damage to property or even
persons. The manufacturer accepts no liability for dam-
age caused by use not in accordance with the instruc-
tions.
The unit is intended for private use.
Before operating the unit for the first time please
read the safety notes and operating instructions
carefully. This is the only way to use all functions
safely and reliably.
Keep the operating instructions safe and pass them on to
anyone who may own the unit after you.

Danger Risk of electric shock!
Faulty electrical installation or excess mains
voltage may result in an electric shock.
The device’s mains adapter is only suitable for mains•
voltage of 220 V – 240V ~/50Hz.
If the unit’s case or mains cable is defective or shows•
other signs of visible damage, disconnect the mains
adapter immediately from the socket and do not oper-
ate the device.
If the unit emits smoke or smells of burning or other•
unusual odours, disconnect it immediately from the
power supply and do not operate it.
The standby button does not disconnect the unit from•
the power supply. Plug the unit into an easily acces-
sible socket so that it can be quickly disconnected in
case of a fault.
Never open the unit case.•
Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised
specialist workshop. Only use parts which conform
with the original unit specifications. There are electrical
and mechanical parts in this unit which are essential in
order to avoid exposure to sources of danger.
Do not insert any object through the vent slots in the•
case.
Only use the unit in indoor areas.•
Do not operate the unit in moist areas and protect it from•
drops of water or splash water.
Also take care not to stand vases or other containers of
liquid on or near the unit in order to avoid liquid getting
into the case. If water or other foreign bodies should
enter the case, disconnect it immediately from the mains
power supply and remove any batteries. Send the unit to
our service address.
Never touch the mains adapter with wet hands.•
Check the unit regularly for damage.•
Danger Danger to children!
Children can become trapped in the packing
film when playing and suffocate.
Do not allow children to play with the unit or the pack-•
ing film. Danger of suffocation.
Ensure that children do not remove small parts or pull•
them off of the device (e. g. remote control batteries,
buttons or plug adapters). They could swallow the
parts and choke.
If a battery is swallowed, take the child to a doctor
immediately.
Never allow children to operate electrical devices•
unsupervised.
Danger Danger to hearing!
Loud noise may lead to hearing loss.
There is a potential risk of very high noise pres-
sure especially when activating a device that is set to full
volume. This may have psychological consequences and
also cause physical injury. Children and pets are particu-
larly at risk.
Set your signal source unit volume control to a low•
setting.
When the volume is set high, always keep a certain•
distance from the unit and never place your ear directly
on the speaker.
To avoid damage to health, avoid extended listening at•
high volume.
Danger Danger of chemical burns!
Leaking battery acid may lead to chemical
burns.
Do not allow battery acid to come into contact with•
skin, eyes or mucus membranes. In case of contact
with acid rinse the affected location immediately with
plenty of plain water and if necessary see a doctor.
Danger Danger of explosion!
Lithium batteries can explode if handled im-
properly.
Never attempt to recharge lithium batteries.•
Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type.•
Do not heat or short circuit batteries or rechargeable•
batteries and do not dispose them of by burning.
Do not leave batteries or rechargeable batteries in
direct sunlight.

Danger Danger of injury/damage!
Incorrect location may result in damage.
Do not use the device in vehicles without having it•
secured, in unstable locations, on wobbly tripods or
furniture, on underdimensioned brackets etc. The de-
vice could tip or fall down and cause injury to persons
or be damaged itself.
Arrange the device so that it cannot be knocked over•
accidentally and make sure that the cables do not pose
a trip hazard.
Do not place the unit near sources of heat (e. g. heat-•
ers, ovens, other heat generating equipment such as
amplifiers etc.)
Attention Fire hazard!
Improper use may lead to damage or fire.
Do not place open flames such as burning candles or•
similar on the unit.
Ensure sufficient ventilation.•
Do not place the unit in direct sunlight.•
Do not cover the ventilation slots with curtains, cloths,•
newspapers or similar. Heat build-up inside the unit
can shorten the lifetime of the unit.
Attention Risk of damage!
Power overload due to lightning strike may
damage or destroy the unit.
If the unit is to be left unsupervised for a long period•
(e. g. during a holiday), or if a thunderstorm is fore-
cast, disconnect it from the mains power supply.
Leaked batteries may damage the remote control.•
In case of prolonged absence remove the batteries•
from the remote control.

Setup and connection
Setup location
Select a stable, level base.•
Make sure that the environment is clean and free from•
dust.
Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in•
direct sunlight.
Arrange the connector cables so that they do not pose•
a trip hazard.
Do not place any heavy objects on top of the cables or•
the unit.
Inserting batteries
You can insert two mignon/AA batteries in the battery
compartment 11 on the back of the device; they supply
the clock reserve power in the event of a power failure.
These batteries are not
included.
Press the bar on the1.
battery compartment in
the direction of the arrow
(“Open”), lift up the cover
and remove it.
Insert two batteries2.
(mignon/AA) in the battery compartment as shown in
the figure.
Put the cover back on the battery compartment and3.
push it closed.
Audio input
You can connect almost any audio source to the mini-jack
15 “Aux In” on the back of the device. This includes com-
puters, MP3 players (with/without a docking station), vid-
eo game systems, televisions etc. The source device only
needs an output with line level. These kinds of outputs are
configured as stereo RCA jacks or as 3.5 mm mini jacks.
With a corresponding connector cable, you can connect
these devices to the jack 15 “Aux In”. You can purchase
these cables in our webshop (www.teufelaudio.com) in
the “Accessories” area.
Antenna
Danger Risk associated with lightning strike!
If you are using outdoor or roof antennas, be
absolutely sure that the antenna has lightning
protection.
Connect the antenna for receiving FM stations to the jack
10 “FM”. This can be a roof/outdoor antenna or a cable
television connection. You will need a coaxial cable for
this.
If an antenna connection is not avail-
able at your setup location, you can
use the enclosed throw-out aerial .
Unwind the throw-out aerial, insert the
plug into the jack 10 “FM” and adjust
the position of the throw-out aerial
until you have the best possible recep-
tion. Then fix the antenna in place
with tape.
Audio output
The audio signal is issued at the mini jack 14 “Rec Out”.
You can connect an audio recording device (e. g. cas-
sette recorder) here.
Connecting to a power supply
Plug inserts for Germany (Euro plugs) and Great Britain
are included with the mains adapter . By depressing
the locking mechanism (see arrow), you can pull off the
insert.

A 3-volt button cell, type CR2025 is used to power the
remote control.
Upon delivery, this button cell is already in the remote
control and is secured by a plastic strip. The strip is vis-
ible on the back of the remote control. Just carefully pull it
out. The remote control is now ready for use.
Changing the batteries
Hold the remote control with the bottom facing up1. .
Press the bar on the battery2.
compartment to the middle
(A) and pull out the compart-
ment (B).
Take out the empty batteries3.
(please observe the notes on
page 16).
Insert the new battery in the bracket. In the process,4.
the “+” symbol must be visible on the battery and
bracket.
Put the bracket back into the unit and push the com-5.
partment until it locks into place.

Remote control
Functionality
The remote control transmits
infrared control signals. For this,
it is necessary that you point the
remote control towards the iTeufel
Radio v2. Make sure no objects
are in the way of the infrared
signal.
Fluorescent lamps installed in
the direct vicinity may affect the
functions of the remote control or
even impair them.
The integrated clock always displays the current time in
the display field 2. There are two alarms, a sleep function
(up to 90 minutes) and a snooze function (five times every
seven minutes).
Setting the time
Briefly press the button1. 3or 26 “Set” once. “CLOCK”
will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly push the volume control2. 6“Volume” once or the
button 25 “Enter”.
“TIME SET” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly press the volume control3. 6 “Volume” again or
the button 25 “Enter”.
The time will appear in the display field and the minutes
will blink.
Set the minutes with the buttons4. 4“Tune +” and 5
“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune +/–”.
Briefly press the volume control5. 6 “Volume” again or
the button 25 “Enter”. Now the hours will blink in the
display field.
You can also set the hours with the buttons6. 4“Tune +”
and 5“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune +/–”.
Briefly press the volume control7. 6“Volume” again or
the button 25 “Enter”. The time has now been set.

This allows you to switch the time format between 24 and
12 hour time (with am/pm):
Briefly press the button1. 3and/or 26 “Set” once.
“CLOCK” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly push the volume control2. 6“Volume” once or the
button 25 “Enter”. “TIME SET” will blink in the display
field 2.
Briefly press the button3. 4“Tune +” and/or 32 “Tune +”
once. “FORMAT” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly press the volume control4. 6“Volume” or the
button 25 “Enter”. The current setting “12” or “24” will
appear in the display field.
Select the desired setting using the buttons5. 4“Tune +”
and/or 32 “Tune +”.
Briefly press the volume control6. 6“Volume” again or
the button 25 “Enter”.
The time format has now been set.7.
Setting the alarm
You can set two alarms (“ALARM 1” and “ALARM 2”) that
can be also used at the same time. For every alarm, you
can set whether you want to be woken up by an alarm
tone or an audio source.
If you have set an alarm, a corresponding message ap-
pears in the display field ( “ALARM 1” and/or “ALARM 2”).
Briefly press the button1. 3and/or 26 “Set” once. The
notice “CLOCK” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly press the button2. 5“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune –”.
The notice “ALARM” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly push the volume control3. 6“Volume” once or the
button 25 “Enter”. “ALARM 1” will blink in the display
field 2.
By briefly pressing the button4. 4“Tune +” and/or 32
“Tune +” you can switch between ALARM 1 and 2.
Briefly press the volume control5. 6 “Volume” or the but-
ton 25 “Enter”. The current setting “ON” (on) or “OFF”
(off) will appear in the display field.
Select the desired setting with the buttons6. 4“Tune +”
and/or 32 “Tune +”.
Briefly press the volume control7. 6“Volume” or the but-
ton 25 “Enter” again.
If you have turned off the alarm (“OFF”), the setting proc-
ess has ended.
If you have turned on the alarm (“ON”), you can now set
the wake-up time:
The wake-up time appears in the display field and the
minutes will blink.
Set the minutes with the buttons8. 4“Tune +” and 5
“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune +/–”.
Briefly press the volume control9. 6 “Volume” again or
the button 25 “Enter”. Now the hours will blink in the
display field.
You can also set the hours with the buttons10. 4“Tune +”
and 5“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune +/–”.
Briefly press the volume control11. 6“Volume” again or
the button 25 “Enter”. The notice “BEEP” will appear
at the bottom of the display field.
Using the buttons12. 4“Tune +” and 5“Tune –” and/or
32 “Tune +/–” you select how you want to be woken
up:
BEEP – Alarm tone
FM – Radio
AUX – External audio source
IPOD – iPod
To complete the process, briefly press the volume13.
control 6“Volume” or the button 25 “Enter”.
The wake-up time has now been set.
Important!
If you have selected FM, AUX or IPOD for the
alarm, the corresponding device must already
be ready for playback meaning the station has been
set, the external device is activated, the iPod is in the
dock. Otherwise nothing will happen at the wake-up
time and you will oversleep!

Quickly activating/deactivating the alarm
You can quickly activate and deactivate the alarms with
the buttons 28 “ALARM 1/2” on the remote control:
Press the corresponding button• 28 “ALARM 1” or
“ALARM 2”. The wake-up time that has been set ap-
pears in the display field and the alarm status “ON” is
also shown above.
If you want to activate the alarm, briefly press the vol-•
ume control 6“Volume” or the button 25 “Enter”. The
alarm has now been set and is active.
Otherwise press the corresponding button• 28 “AL ARM
1” or “ALARM 2” again. The alarm status “OFF” ap-
pears in the display field above the alarm time.
If you want to deactivate the alarm, briefly press the•
volume control 6“Volume” or the button 25 “Enter”.
The alarm has now been turned off and is inactive.
Otherwise, press the corresponding button• 28 “AL ARM
1” or “ALARM 2” again, thereby ending the process.
With the above steps, the device will automatically abort
the process if there is no button activity for five seconds.
Snooze
The wake-up time has been reached, the alarm tone or
music wakes you up. “Just one more minute..” No prob-
lem: Press the button 17 “Mute/Snooze” and the iTeufel
Radio v2 will remain silent for seven minutes. You can do
so up to five times, afterwards the device gives up and
lets you sleep in peace..
Sleep function
With this function, the iTeufel Radio v2 turns off after a
preset time.
Start the selected playback.1.
Press the button2. 23 “Sleep”. The status “SLEEP” will
appear in the display field 2and behind it “00” blinks
in the display field.
With the buttons3. 4“Tune +” and 5“Tune –” and/or 32
“Tune +/–” you can set the desired deactivation time in
15-minute increments. The maximum setting is 90 min-
utes, the setting “00” deactivates the sleep function.
To complete the process, briefly press the volume con-4.
trol 6“Volume” or the button 25 “Enter”.
The sleep function has now been started.
Important!
If you set the music volume too low when going
to bed and have also selected music as your
alarm tone, the volume may be too low! If this is the
case, opt for the alarm tone (“BEEP”).
Display field
You can set the brightness of the display field as follows:
Briefly press the button1. 3and/or 26 “Set” once. The
message “CLOCK” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly press the button2. 5“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune –”
three times. “DISPLAY” will blink in the display field 2.
Briefly press the volume control3. 6“Volume” or the
button 25 “Enter” once. The message in the display
field 2will change to “DISPLAY BACKLITE” (display
field lighting) and the current setting will blink in the
background.
Set the desired brightness using the buttons4. 4“Tune
+” and 5“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune +/–”. Potential set-
tings are 1 (dark) to 5 (bright) or “AU” for automatic.
With “AU”, the brightness automatically adjusts to the
room lighting.
To complete the process, briefly press the volume5.
control 6“Volume” or the button 25 “Enter” again. The
display field brightness has now been set.

Mute / Snooze

Basic functions
Activating and deactivating
By holding down the volume control• 6“Volume” (for
approximately one second) or by pressing the button
18 “ ”, you switch your iTeufel Radio v2 to operating
and/or standby mode.
Selecting a source
After activation, the last audio source selected is acti-
vated.
With the button• 1“Source” and/or the buttons 19 “Ra-
dio”, 20 “Aux” and 21 “iPod”, you change the source.
The selected source is shown in the display field 2.
Adjusting the volume
Increasing the volume: Turn the control• 6“Volume”
clockwise and/or press the button 30 “ ”.
Decreasing the volume: Turn the control• 1“Volume”
counter-clockwise and/or press the button 30 “ ”.
The selected volume is shown in the display field 2in the
range 01 (low) to 32 (high).
Mute
With the button• 17 and/or 27 “Mute/Snooze” you can
turn off the sound. The message “– –”
will appear in the display field 2instead of the volume.
Turning the sound back on: Press the button• 17 and/or
27 “Mute/Snooze” again or change the volume.
Adjusting the bass
Turn the control 9“Bass +/–” in order to increase or
decrease the bass volume.
Earphone mode
You can connect stereo earphones to the jack 13
“Phones” – the speakers are automatically deactivated in
the process.

Radio playback
Select the source “Radio” (see previous page). The iTeufel
Radio v2 can receive mono and stereo stations in the
range from 87.5 to 108 MHz.
For stations with an RDS signal the name of the station is
shown in the display field.
Setting the radio stations
Set the receiving frequency with the buttons 4“Tune +”
and 5“Tune –” and/or 32 “Tune +/–”.
The frequency is increased and/or reduced by one in-•
crement (0.05 MHz) each time the button is depressed.
Hold down the button to continually increase and/or•
decrease the frequency.
Station scanning
Briefly pressing the volume control 6“Volume” starts
station scanning until a station with sufficient transmitting
power is found.
Station memory
Your radio can save up to 10 stations. You can con-
veniently select the stored stations later with the remote
control.
Saving stations
Set the desired station as described above.•
Press down the station button• 22 “1 .. 10” with the
desired memory slot number for approximately three
seconds. The message “M” will appear in the display
field 2and the selected memory slot number will blink
for a short time.
Briefly press the station button again.•
The station has now been stored.
Selecting stations from the memory
You can select the stored stations directly using the station
buttons 22 “1 .. 10”.

Inserting an iPod
Insert the iPod adapter• in the iPod dock 16 on the
top of the iTeufel Radio v2. Push the adapter into the
dock until it locks into place.
Carefully set the iPod on the plug contact in the dock.•
The iPod is now ready for playback and its storage
battery is being charged by the iTeufel Radio v2.
Important!
With the iPod Touch, you will have
to launch the application “iPod”.
It is normally located in the dock area of the
home screen.
iPod playback
With the button• 1“Source” and/or 21 “iPod” select
“IPOD” as a source.
You can now control the iPod directly using the iTeufel
Radio v2 remote control:

Care and cleaning
Clean your iTeufel Radio v2 regularly with a soft, damp
microfibre cloth. In the process, be absolutely sure to
observe the following notes:
Danger Risk of electric shock!
In contact with live parts, water can lead to
electric shock or short circuit.
Ensure that no liquid penetrates the unit.•
Before cleaning, disconnect the mains adapter.•
Attention Risk of damage!
Using the wrong cleaning materials may dam-
age the delicate surface of the case.
If possible use only plain water with no cleaning prod-•
ucts. In case of stubborn marks, a mild soap solution
may be used.
In no circumstances should caustic cleaning products,•
white spirit, thinners, petrol or similar be used for
cleaning.
Troubleshooting
The following instructions should help you to solve problems. If this doesn‘t work, please contact our hotline (see page 3).
Mind the warranty instructions.
Problem Possible cause Solution
The device doesn’t work,
the display is dark.
No power supply. Check that the mains adapter is seated
properly.
Check that the socket is functioning properly
by connection another device to it.
The speakers produce no
sound.
Wrong source selected. Select the correct audio source.
“Mute” is activated. Press the button 27 “Snooze/Mute“ or in-
crease the volume.
Earphones are connected. Pull the earphones out of the jack. The speak-
ers are deactivated when earphones are
connected.
Poor reception. Try to improve the reception by adjusting the direction of the antenna.
Find the optimal setting for the station using buttons 4and 5and/or 32 “Tune +/–”.
iPod does not play. iPod was not inserted properly. Check whether the dock adapter and the
iPod have been inserted properly.
iPod malfunction. Take the iPod out of the dock and check
whether the iPod works with earphones. You
will find notes on resetting the iPod in the
instructions for your iPod or on the website
www.apple.com.
