Only use the unit as described in these instructions. Any
other use will be deemed as not in accordance with the
instructions and may lead to damage to property or even
persons. The manufacturer accepts no liability for dam-
age caused by use not in accordance with the instruc-
tions.
The unit is intended for private use.
Before operating the unit for the first time please
read the safety notes and operating instructions
carefully. This is the only way to use all functions
safely and reliably.
Keep the operating instructions safe and pass them on to
anyone who may own the unit after you.

Safety notes
Caution icons
You will find the following caution icons used in these
instructions:
Danger High risk!
Failure to observe the warning may result in
severe personal injury or death.
Attention Moderate risk!
Failure to observe the warning may result in
property damage.
Minor risk!
Points which should be observed when hand-
ling the unit.
Safety notes
Danger Risk of electric shock!
Faulty installation of electrical equipment or
mains voltage which is too high can cause
electric shocks.
The device is only suitable for use with a power supply•
voltage of 220 V–240 V ~ / 50Hz/60Hz.
If the unit’s case or mains cable is defective or shows•
other signs of visible damage, disconnect the mains
adapter immediately from the socket and do not oper-
ate the device.
If the device produces smoke, a burning odour or emits•
unusual sounds, immediately disconnect it from the
mains and discontinue use.
The standby button does not disconnect the device•
from the power supply. For this reason, connect it to an
easily accessible socket so that you can quickly discon-
nect it from the power supply in the event of faults.
Never open the unit case.•
Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised
specialist workshop. Only use parts which conform
with the original unit specifications. There are electrical
and mechanical parts in this unit which are essential in
order to avoid exposure to sources of danger.
Do not insert any objects through the vent slots in the•
case.
Only use the unit in indoor areas.•
Do not operate the unit in moist areas and protect it from•
drops of water or splash water.
Also take care not to stand vases or other containers of
liquid on or near the unit in order to avoid liquid getting
into the case. If water or other foreign bodies should
enter the case, disconnect it immediately from the mains
power supply and remove any batteries. Send the unit to
our service address.
Never touch the mains adapter with wet hands.•
Check the unit regularly for damage.•
Danger Danger to children!
Children can become trapped in the packing
film when playing and suffocate.
Do not allow children to play with the unit or the pack-•
ing film. Danger of suffocation.
Ensure that children do not remove small parts from•
the unit or take them off of the unit (e.g. control knobs
or plug adapters). They could swallow the parts and
choke. Never allow children to use electrical devices
without supervision.
Danger Danger to eyes and skin!
If the disc tray is open and the lock is disabled,
an invisible laser beam or visible laser light is
emitted.
Do not look into the beam, even if you are using opti-•
cal instruments.
Danger Danger to hearing!
Loud noise may lead to hearing loss.
Particularly when a subwoofer in “Stand-by/
Auto On” mode is activated by bass impulse and has
been set to maximum volume, very high noise pressure
may be produced. This may also have psychological
consequences as well as cause physical injury. Children
and pets are particularly at risk.
Set your signal source unit volume control to a low•
setting.
When the volume is set high, always keep a certain•
distance from the unit and never place your ear directly
on the speaker.
To avoid damage to health, avoid extended listening at•
high volume.
Danger Danger of chemical burns!
Leaking battery acid may lead to chemical
burns.
Do not allow battery acid to come into contact with•
skin, eyes or mucus membranes. In case of contact
with acid rinse the affected location immediately with
plenty of plain water and if necessary see a doctor.

Danger Danger of injury/damage!
Incorrect location may result in damage.
Never use the unit unmounted in vehicles, in instable•
locations, on wobbly stands or furniture, with attach-
ment fixtures that are too small etc. The unit could
topple over or fall, injuring persons or causing damage
to the unit itself.
Arrange the speakers so that they cannot be knocked•
over accidentally and make sure that the cables do not
pose a trip hazard.
Ensure that any wall mounting is performed in a profes-•
sional manner.
Only use suitable wall brackets for mounting. Check•
the carrying capacity of the walls.
Only set up the device and the speakers on stable,•
level surfaces.
Do not place the unit near sources of heat (e.g. heat-•
ers, ovens, other heat generating equipment such as
amplifiers etc.)
Danger Danger of explosion!
Batteries and rechargeable batteries may
explode if overheated.
Never attempt to recharge normal batteries.•
Do not expose batteries or rechargeable batteries to•
heat and never throw them in open fire.
Attention Fire hazard!
Improper use may lead to damage or fire.
Do not place open flames such as burning candles or•
similar on the unit.
Ensure sufficient ventilation.•
Do not place the unit in direct sunlight.•
Do not cover the ventilation slots with curtains, cloths,•
newspapers or similar. Heat build-up inside the unit
can shorten the lifetime of the unit.
Attention Risk of damage!
Power overload due to lightning strike may
damage or destroy the unit.
If the unit is to be left unsupervised for a long period•
(e.g. during a holiday), or if a thunderstorm is forecast,
disconnect it from the mains power supply.
If the device is subjected to warm temperatures after•
being cold (e.g. after transport), condensation may
occur inside of it. Wait at least 2 hours before you con-
nect and activate it.
Old, used batteries may leak.•
Remove the batteries from the remote control if you do
not use them for a prolonged period of time.

FM antenna
Connect the antenna for receiving FM/VHF stations to
the jack 13 “FM”. This can be a roof/outdoor antenna or
a cable television connection. You will need a coaxial
cable for this.
If an antenna connection is not available at your setup
location, you can use the enclosed dipole FM antenna
햶. Unwind the throw-out aerial, screw the lugs onto
the adapter 햷, push the
adapter into the jack 13
“FM” and adjust the position
of the throw-out aerial until
you have the best reception.
Then fix the antenna in place
with tape or a nail.

Setup and Connecting
Setup location
Select a stable, level base.•
Make sure that the environment is clean and free from•
dust.
Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in•
direct sunlight.
Arrange the connector cables so that they do not pose•
a trip hazard.
Do not place any heavy objects on top of the cables or•
the unit.
There should be approximately 10 cm of space around•
the device to enable adequate air circulation.
Connecting the speakers
To connect the speakers, use high-quality, two-conductor
speaker cable with a diameter of at least 1.5 mm2(AWG
15). You can order cables and banana plugs in our web-
shop (www.teufelaudio.com) in the “Accessories” area.

then push the plug into the visible jack of the connector
terminal.
If you don’t use any banana plugs,
turn the connector terminal 22
counterclockwise to loosen it. Insert
the stripped cable end into the hole
that is now visible. Turn the terminal
clockwise. This will clamp the cable
in place.
Subwoofer
You can connect an active subwoofer to the RCA jack
25 “Sub Out”. Only low frequency audio signals will be
issued at this jack up to an adjustable frequency.
Antennas
Danger Risk associated with lightning strike!
If you are using outdoor or roof antennas, be
absolutely sure that the antenna has lightning
protection.
The connector terminals 22 “Speakers” for the five satel-
lites are located on the back of the DVD receiver:
Front – front speakers, “Left”and “Right”.•
Center – middle speakers.•
Rear – rear speakers, “Left” and “Right”.•
The terminals are each marked red (+) and black (-).
Observe the correct polarity!
Connect the like coloured terminals with each
other. Otherwise the sound quality will suffer.
The wires of the speaker cables are marked with differ-
ent colours or shapes.
Split the speaker cable on both
ends over a length of about 30 mm
and remove approximately 10 mm
of the insulation sheathing. Twist
the cable to ensure that no wires
protrude.
Connecting the cables to the speakers should be de-
scribed in the operating instructions for the speakers.
If you use banana plugs, screw the cord into place on
the plug (see instructions for the banana plug), remove

AM antenna
The enclosed antenna 햵is designed for receiving me-
dium wave stations (AM). You can set up this antenna to
be free standing or screw it onto a cabinet or wall.

Connect the antenna cable with the jacks 14 “AM” on
the back of the DVD receiver. Push down the lever on the
terminal and run the cable end into the above opening.
Releasing the lever will hold the cable in place.
Television/projector
You can connect a television and/or projector to the fol-
lowing outputs:

15 SCART
Analog video signal (RGB, composite (CVBS) and S-
Video) and audio signal (stereo) via a SCART cable. The
SCART connection must be activated via the video menu
(see “Video output”, page 13).
16 Component
Analog component video signal (YPbPr) via a three-line
RCA cable. When connecting, observe the jack colour
coding (green, blue and red). This output also has to be
activated via the video menu (see “Video output”, page
13).
26 S-Video
Analog video signal (S-Video) via a mini-DIN cable (also
referred to as Hosiden cable).
27 Composite
Analog video signal (FBAS) via an RCA cable. A video
cable 햴with two yellow RCA jacks is included with the
CP5100 DR, which you can use to connect a television to
this jack.
28 HDMI Out
Digital video and sound signals via a HDMI cable.
Preferably, you should use the HDMI output 28 to connect
your screen as the signals of the HDMI inputs 1 and 2
are relayed to this output only. If connecting the TV via
one of the other outputs, the HDMI inputs cannot be used.
Inputs for Source devices
The CP 5100 DR offers three inputs for analog sources
(Aux 1 – 3) and two digital HDMI sources. There are also
two optical and two coaxial digital sound inputs availa-
ble that you can freely assign to the source devices using
the setup menu (see page 14).
17 Aux 1
Here, you can connect a source with
an analog component signal (YPbPr)
and analog sound. For this, you will
need a triple RCA cable for video (Y,
Pb und Pr) and a double RCA cable
for the sound (L and R).
18 Aux 2 and 19 Aux 3
Here, you can connect a source with analog video and
sound. The video signal can be transferred as FBAS
(Composite) with a RCA cable or as S-Video with a mini
DIN cable. You will need a double RCA cable for the
audio signal (L and R).

29 HDMI 1 and 2
You can connect a source with
a digital audio and video signal
to each socket. For this, you will
need a HDMI cable.
Please note
You can only use these HDMI inputs if the play-
back device (TV or projector) is also connected
via HDMI.
20 Coaxial 1 + 2
You can connect the coaxial digital audio outputs of two
sources here. For this, you will need a coaxial cable with
RCA plugs for each output. In the menu, you can assign a
digital audio input to each video source (see page 14).
21 Optical 1 + 2
You can connect the optical digital sound outputs of
two sources here. You will need an optical cable with a
Toslink connector. Your source requires either an optical
3.5 mm plug or a Toslink connector as well. In the menu,
you can assign the digital audio connector input to the
various video sources (see page 14).
Connecting to a power supply
Make sure that the mains switch• 23 “Power” on the
back of the device is turned off (“OFF” position).
Connect the mains connector jack• 24 to a mains socket
with the mains cord 햹.
To use the remote control you will need two batteries,
type micro and/or AAA with 1.5 volts (included in the
package).
Inserting batteries
Push the battery compartment•
cover on the back of the remote
control towards the arrow and
remove it.
If necessary, remove the old bat-•
teries (please follow the notes on
page 26).
Insert the batteries in the battery•
compartment as shown in the
figure.
Put the cover back on the com-•
partment and push it into place.
Remote control
Functionality
The remote control transmits infrared control signals. For
proper functioning, you have to point the front of the
remote control towards the DVD receiver. Make sure there
are no obstacles blocking the infrared signal.
Fluorescent and energy saving lamps installed in the di-
rect vicinity may impair the functions of the remote control
or even prevent its functioning.

Basic functions
Activating and deactivating
With the• mains switch 23 “Power” on the back of the
device you can turn your DVD receiver on and off.
Once you have turned it on, the device is in standby
mode.
With the button• 11 “Power” or 60 “ ”, you can switch
your DVD receiver to operational and/or standby
mode. The power LED 12 is blue when the device is
turned on until the display 5is operational.
Selecting a source
Once you have turned on the device, the last source
selected is activated.
With the button• 4“Source” and/or 53 “Source +/–”,
you can switch sources in this order:
DISC (DVD/CD and USB), FM AUTO (radio VHF

With the menu, you can set most functions of your
CP 5100 DR. You control the menu with the remote con-
trol; the menu itself is shown on the connected TV screen.
Important
The menu functions are only available if “DISC”
is selected as source.
Both devices must be turned on and the CP 5100 DR
picture must be visible on the television.
Press the button• 50 “DVD” to select “DISC” as the source.
Press the button• 51 “Setup”. The main menu will ap-
pear on the screen.
Select the desired submenu with the navigation buttons•
40 “▲▼ ” and press the select button 41 “●” or the
navigation button 40 “▶”. A submenu will appear.
You can open other submenus in this way and change
settings.
Press the navigation button• 40 “◀” to return to the
previous menu.
You can exit at any time by pressing the button• 51

Setting the resolution for HD playback. Possible values:

You can also adjust these settings with the special func-
tion button “Resolution” (see “Special function buttons” on
page 16).
“Video Output”
Activating the analog video output:
SCART – Connection to the jack 15 “SCART” in standard
resolution via a SCART cable.
Component I – Connection to the component output 16
“Component” with normal resolution (interlaced compo-
nent).
Component P – Connection to the component output 16
“Component” with higher resolution (progressive compo-
nent).
If in doubt, consult the operating instructions of your
television.
The outputs 26 “S-Video”, 27 “Composite” and 28
“HDMI” are always active.
“Lip Sync”
Digital image-processing in the TV-set requires a certain
amount of time. To keep the image and sound in sync,
televisions delay the sound by a few milliseconds. To en-
sure that the sound of your DVD receiver is also in sync,
you can set the receiver’s audio delay from 0 to 250 ms
here. For this, move the marker on the scale using the
navigation buttons 40 “▲▼ ” and change the value using
the select button 41 “●”. You can also change this setting
with the button 38 “Audio” (see page 16).

Menu “Audio”
If you are using a Teufel speaker set, you can use the
recommended values for some settings. For more informa-
tion, see “Teufel Presets” in this section.
“Speaker Setup”
Set the speaker types. Smaller speakers may not be able
to handle low tones well and tend to distort the audio
signal; if no centre speaker is present, the voices of the
actors will be missing in movies; if no rear speakers are
present, surround sound effects will be missing. If set
properly, the CP 5100 DR is able to make optimal use of
the existing speakers:
Front – Size of the speakers to the left and right of the
screen: Small (small, compact boxes), Large (full-volume
speakers, upright boxes).
Center – Size of the middle speaker: Small, Large, Off –
with Dolby® Virtual Speaker (DVS), the mid-channel is
distributed to the left and right speakers.
Rear – Size of the rear speaker: Small, Large, Off – sur-
round sound is simulated using the existing speakers with
DVS.
Surround – Size of the rear speaker: Small, Large, Off –
surround sound is simulated using the existing speakers
with DVS.
Subwoofer – On or Off – If no subwoofer is connected,
the lowest tones will be emitted as best as possible via
the existing speakers.
Crossover – Sounds are emitted via the subwoofer up to
the frequency set here. The cut-off-frequency can be set in
the range 40 to 200 Hz. Move the marker on the scale
with the navigation buttons 40 “▲▼ ” and change the
value with the select button 41 “●”.
“AV Mapping”
Assigning audio inputs to the video inputs: You want to
connect your PC via HDMI, but your sound card has an
optical audio output? Your DVD-changer has a compo-
nent output for video and a coax audio connection? Your
DVD receiver can handle this: Select the desired video
input and set the desired audio input for this.

“Distance”
If the speakers are located at different distances to the
listening position, surround sound will suffer. To com-
pensate for these run time differences, set the distances
from the listening position to each speaker from 0 to 10
metres. You can move the marker on the scale with the
navigation buttons 40 “▲▼ ” and change the value with
the select button 41 “●”.
“Level”
Volume adjustment and sound test. Here, you can in-
crease or reduce the relative volume for each speaker.
Select the desired speaker and move the marker on the
scale with the navigation buttons 40 “▲▼ ” in the positive
(loud) or negative (soft) range. Apply the value by press-
ing the select button 41 “●”.
You can also change this setting with the special function
button “Level” (see “Special function buttons” on page
16).
With the option “Test Tone”, a noise signal will be emit-
ted from each speaker for approximately 2 seconds that
allows you to verify the settings. The test will end as soon
as you exit the submenu.
“Equalizer”
Adjusting the sound in three frequency ranges: Select the
desired frequency range (treble, mid, bass) and move
the marker on the scale to the positive (up) or negative
(down) range using the navigation buttons 40 “▲▼ ”. You
can apply the value by pressing the select button 41 “●”.
“Teufel Preset 1 + 2”
Presets for current Teufel speakers. Here you can auto-
matically set the recommended values for some Teufel
speaker sets (e. g. speaker size and crossover frequency).
Select your speaker set and apply the values by selecting
“OK”.

Menu “System”
“Language”
Set the language for menus, subtitles and playback.
OSD Menu – Language for the menu functions (German
or English).
Disc Menu – Language for the DVD menus. Multiple
languages are available, provided they are supported by
the DVD.
Audio – Language for DVD playback. Multiple languages
are available, provided they are supported by the DVD.
Subtitle – Language for the subtitles for DVD playback.
Multiple languages are available, provided they are
supported by the DVD. The setting “Off” deactivates
subtitles.
“Parential”
Child lock for DVD playback. Some DVDs are labelled
for certain age groups and will be locked depending on
this setting. Unfortunately, many DVDs are not protected
accordingly; personal copies and DivX movies usually do
not have this protection scheme.
Lock Sys. – This protects the DVD/CD. For this, the four-
digit password (default setting “0000”) must be entered
via the number pad on the remote control and confirmed
with the select button 41 “●”. If the password is entered
incorrectly, the password prompt will appear again.
Unlock Sys. – This deactivates the protection. The pass-
word must be entered.
Rating – Adjusting the protection level. There are eight
levels available. They correspond to the recommenda-
tions of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of Ameri-
ca) for the rating of movies:
2– Intermediate rating
3 – PG (Parental Guidance), young children should be
accompanied by a parent.
4 – PG 13 (Parental Guidance 13), children under 13
years of age should be accompanied by a parent.
5– Intermediate rating
6 – PG-R (Parents Guidance - Restricted), under 17 years
of age only when accompanied by a parent.
7 – NC-17 (No Children 17 and under admitted), viewing
only for ages 18 and up.
8 – Adult, only for adults.
No Limit – No restriction, check deactivated.
After selecting the level the four-digit password (default
setting “0000”) must be entered via the number pad on
the remote control and confirmed with the select button
41 “●”. If the password is entered incorrectly, the pass-
word prompt will appear again.
“Set PWD”
Changing the password: The old password must first be
entered, then the new password must be entered twice.
Then press the select button 41 “●”. If the old password
was entered incorrectly or the two entries of the new
password are different, the password will be queried
again. Make sure to remember the new password! If
necessary, you can reset the DVD receiver to the factory
default settings (see “SW version” below).
“Dimmer”
Setting the brightness of the display 5:
3 (bright), 2, 1 (dark), Off
“Power-on Vol”
Set the volume after activation:
Last (last set volume), 20, 40
“SW version”
You can see the version of the installed software (also
known as “Firmware”) in the upper field. Firmware up-
dating is possible (see page 25).
Reset – This resets the device to the factory default set-
tings.
Important
All menu settings are lost when performing
reset!
Menu “Exit”
You exit the menu when you select this menu item and the
source “DISC” becomes active again.

Button “Audio”
With the button 38 “Audio”, you can set the ambient
sound or the surround mode and the audio delay.
Setting ambient sound
Pushing the button 38 “Audio” briefly switches to the
respectively possible modes:
If only two speakers (front left and right) are active, you
switch the Dolby® Virtual Speaker (DVS) each time you
push the button:
“DVS REF” Normal DVS ambient sound.
“DVS WIDE” Extended DVS ambient sound.
“DVS OFF” Deactivate DVS.
If all speakers are active, two ProLogic and two stereo
settings are available for all dual-channel sources:
“PLII Movie” Dolby® ProLogic II for movies.
“PLII MUSIC” Dolby® ProLogic II for music.
“STEREO 5” Stereo playback on all speakers.
“STEREO 2” Stereo playback only on the front speakers
left and right and the subwoofer.
The surround mode is preset when Dolby Digital or DTS
coded multi-channel tracks are played back; as a result,
this function is blocked.
Setting audio delay
By pushing the button 38 “Audio” for more than two sec-
onds, you can set the value of the audio delay (see menu
function “Lip Sync” on page 13):
The current value in milliseconds (ms) is shown in the•
display panel and on the screen.
With the volume buttons• 37 “Volume +/–”, you can
now set the audio delay within the range from 0 to
240 ms.
The device deactivates the function after three seconds of
button inactivity.
Button “Level”
You can set the sound with the button 45 “Level” and
adjust the volume of the speakers.
Adjusting the sound
By briefly pushing the button 45 “Level”, you access the
three ranges for the sound control in sequence:
Bass low tones (bass tones)
Treble high tones
Middle medium-range tones (language)
With the volume buttons 37 “Volume +/–” you can now
set the selected range from “–10” (decrease) to “+10”
(increase). After three seconds of button inactivity, the
device switches off the function.
Volume adjustment.
You can increase or decrease the relative volume for
each speaker. First push and hold the button 45 “Level”
for more than two seconds until the first speaker channel
is displayed in the display panel and on the top left of the
screen (see below). Tip the button 45 “Level” to select the
desired speaker now:
FRONT L – Front left
CENTER – Center
FRONT R – Front right
REAR L – Rear left
REAR R – Rear right
SUB – Subwoofer
With the volume buttons 37 “Volume +/–” you can now
set the volume within the range from “–10” to “+10”. After
three seconds of button inactivity, the device deactivates
the function.
Button “Resolution”
By tipping the button 46 “Resolution” you can set the
resolution of the television set for HD playback. Possible
values:
HDMI 576P, HDMI 720P, HDMI 1080I, HDMI 1080P.

Compatible DVDs/CDs
Only use commercially-available DVDs/CDs that are•
labeled with the symbols shown at the right.
DVDs/CDs with files in the following formats can be•
played: CD Audio, VCD, SVCD, DVD Video, DivX,
Mpeg4, MP3, AAC and JPEG.
Standard DVDs/CDs with a diameter of 80 and•
120 mm can be used.
It is also generally possible to use recordable DVD/CD.•
However, there may be problems due to too high burn-
ing speed or insufficient quality of the recordable disc.
Unfortunately, the only way to find out is by trying.
CDs that were produced for commercial use might not•
always play.
Handling DVDs/CDs
Every DVD/CD is covered by a resistant plastic layer that
protects it against outside influences. However, you still
have to protect the discs from dirt and scratches.
Your DVD receiver can correct minor damages of the
DVD/CD. Larger scratches or other damages may cause
it to “freeze” or similar errors may result. Please also
follow the guidelines on the CD case for the proper han-
dling of DVDs/CDs!
Inserting a DVD/CD
Attention Risk of damage!
Do not in any case insert multiple DVDs/CDs
on top of one another. Do not insert anything
other than DVDs/CDs.
Press the button• 9“Eject” and/or 31 “ ”. The DVD tray
will be ejected and the source will change to “DISC” at
the same time.
Carefully place the DVD/CD with the printed side up in•
the tray recess.
Press the button• 9“Eject” and/or 31 “ ”. The DVD
tray will close and the CD will be read. The message
“READING” will appear on the display and on the
screen. Some DVDs may start to play automatically
after a few seconds.
The CD and USB playback functions are identical and
are described in the section “Playback functions” on
page 20.
Ejecting a DVD/CD
Stop playback by pressing the button• 9“Eject” and/or
31 “ ”. The DVD tray will eject to the front.
Take the DVD/CD out of the tray.•
Press the button• 9“Eject” and/or 31 “ ”. The CD tray
will close.

Radio playback
Select one of the three radio broadcast bands (see page
12):
FM AUTO – Reception of stereo stations from 87.5 to 108
MHz, RDS mode possible.
FM MONO – Reception of weak stations in mono, RDS
mode possible with limitations.
AM – Reception of mono stations from 522 to 1,629 kHz.
Setting the radio stations
Direct entry of the tuning frequency:
Briefly push the button• 35 “Tune”.
Enter the frequency without any decimal or comma•
using the number buttons 55 “1 ... 0”.
Push the selection button• 42 “●”.
Station scan:
You can change the receiving frequency with the buttons
33 “ ”:
Automatically• : Pressing the button will start the station
scan in the desired direction, which will continue until a
station with sufficient broadcasting power is received.
Manually• : The frequency is gradually increased and/
or decreased every time you tip the button (FM: 0.05
MHz step, AM: 9 kHz step).
The set tuning frequency is shown in the display 5. If the
station is received in stereo, the message “STEREO” will
also appear. If the station broadcasts an RDS signal, then
the message “R•D•S” will appear and the name of the
station will replace the frequency display after a short
time.
Station memory
Your radio can save up to 30 stations for each of the two
radio bands (FM and AM). You can select the saved sta-
tions conveniently with the push of a button.
Presetting stations
Tune in the desired station as described above.•
Press the select button• 42 “●”. The display now shows
an available memory slot by a blinking number, e. g.
“P01”.
You can select the desired memory slot with the•
number pad 55 “1...0”. You can change the tens deci-
mal place with the button 54 “+10”.
Press the select button• 42 “●” again. The message
“SAVE OKAY” will appear briefly in the display.
The station has now been saved. If there is no button
activity for five seconds, the device will switch back to
normal mode.

Saving stations automatically
Push the button 35 “Tune” for approx. six seconds until
the message “APS Start” appears in the display panel.
The radio is now searching for stations with adequate
reception and automatically saves them. Previously saved
stations are deleted in the process.
After the search ends, the station is saved to the memory
slot 01.
Tuning in stations from the memory
You can directly choose stored stations by using the
number pad 55. With the button 54 “10+” you can ac-
cess the memory slots with two-digit numbers.

Your new DVD receiver can read USB memory sticks (USB
1.0 / 2.0 up to 2 gigabytes) and playback any stored
MP3 files or JPEG files.
USB stands for “universal serial bus”. Every modern com-
puter has a USB interface for connecting a keyboard and
mouse. The USB memory stick was originally developed
to replace computer disks and make data transfer more
easy. Meanwhile, these convenient sticks are also used
for digital cameras and music playback devices.
Handling mobile storage devices
USB sticks are sensitive electronic devices and must
therefore be handled with care. If you are not using your
storage device, be absolutely sure to store it in a protec-
tive sleeve or put its cap on.
Important
Do not use any storage devices that exhibit
mechanical damages or which have been im-
mersed in a liquid. Do not subject storage devices to
direct sunlight. Improper handling may result in data
loss! If possible, make backup copies of your music on
your PC.
Inserting the USB stick and playback
Press the button• 9“Eject” and/or 31 “ ”. The DVD tray
will be ejected and the source will change to “DISC” at
the same time.
If necessary, take the DVD/CD out of the tray. Place the•
DVD/CD back in its jewel case.
Insert the USB stick in the jack• 30 “USB”. The stick will
only fit in one position.
Press the button• 9“Eject” and/or 31 “ ”. The DVD tray
will close and the USB stick will be read. The mes-
sages “READING” and “NO DISC” will appear in the
display and on the screen.
The file browser will appear on the screen shortly after-•
wards (see “File selection” in the next section).
The playback functions for CD and USB are identical
and are described in the section “Playback functions” on
page 20.
USB mode
