3.1 OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
• Ensure that the instructions in this book
arereadandfullyunderstood.
• Nopersonshouldbeallowedtooperate
this machine unless they are fully
acquainted with all the controls and the
safetyprocedures.
• Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliar
with these instructions to use this
machine. Local regulations may restrict
theageoftheoperator.
3.2 SAFETYSIGNS
• It is essential all safety labels are kept
legible, if they are missing or illegible they
must be replaced. If any part of the
machine is replaced and it originally
carried a safety label, a new label must be
affixedto thereplacementpart. New
safetylabelsareobtainablefrom
Ransomesdealers.
3.3 STARTINGTHEENGINE
• Before starting the engine check that the
brakesareapplied,drivesareinneutral,
guards are in position and intact, and
bystandersareclear ofthe machine.
• Do not run the engine in a building without
adequateventilation.
3.4 DRIVINGTHEMACHINE
• Beforemoving themachine,checkto
ensure that all parts are in good working
order,payingparticularattentionto
brakes, tyres, steering and the security of
cuttingblades.
• Replace faulty silencers, mow only in
daylightorgood artificiallight
• AlwaysobservetheHighwayCodebothon
andoff theroads. Keepalert andawareat
all times. Watch out for traffic when
crossingornearroadways.
3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Stoptheblades rotatingbeforecrossing
surfacesother thangrass.
• Rememberthatsomepeoplearedeafor
blind and that children and animals can be
unpredictable.
• Keeptravellingspeedslowenoughforan
emergencystop tobeeffectiveandsafeat
all times, in any conditions.
• Removeoravoidobstructionsinthearea
to be cut, thus reducing the possibility of
injuryto yourselfand/orbystanders.
• Keep in mind that the operator or user is
responsibleforaccidentsorhazards
occurringtootherpeople ortheirproperty.
• Whilemowing, alwayswear substantial
footwearand longtrousers. Do not
operatetheequipmentwhenbarefootor
wearingopensandals.
• Checkthe grasscatcherfrequently for
wearordeterioration. After strikinga
foreignobject. Inspectthelawnmowerfor
damageandmakerepairsbeforerestarting
andoperatingtheequipment.
• Ifthe machinestartstovibrateabnormally,
check immediately.
3.5 TRANSPORTING
• Do not transport with cutting mechanism
rotating.
• Drivethemachinewithdueconsideration
ofroad andsurfaceconditions, inclines
andlocalundulations.
3.6 LEAVINGTHEDRIVINGPOSITION
• Parkthemachineonlevelground.
• Beforeleavingthedrivingposition,stopthe
engineandmake sureallmoving partsare
stationary. Apply brakes and disengage all
drives.Switchengineoff.

thegeneralslope.Avoidgroundconditions
which can cause the machine to slide.
