BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Unboxing
Carefully remove all packaging materials and take the appliance
out of the box.
This product has been manufactured with high quality mate-
rials and components, which can be recycled or reused. Do not
dispose of this product and it’s packaging as unsorted municipal
waste. Use your local framework for collection of electrical and
electronic equipment for return, recycle and recovery to minimize
any effects on the environment or on human health.
What’s in the box: Scent Creator, power cord, basket, quick start guide and
warranty.
Accessories
Scent cartridges, door covers, bottles and other accessories may not be included
and must be purchased separately.
Personalize your Scent Creator with the door cover design that best suits your
style.
Collect as many scent cartridges as you like. The more you have, the more
creative possibilities you will have.
Formula bottles are available in different sizes and come in kits.
Remote Control
The Scent Creator is wirelessly controlled by an app which must be installed in
your smartphone before the appliance can be used. The free app is available for
Android and iOS.

SAFETY INFORMATION
Appliance Safety
• The Scent Creator is intended only for domestic use. As reference, a normal use
would be a monthly production of about 70 ml of fragrance over a period of 10
years. Other uses may void the warranty.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervi-
sion.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of expe-
rience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction con-
cerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Incorrect repairs are dangerous. Repairs may only be carried out by one of our
trained after-sales technicians.
• This appliance is supplied with a power cord suitable for your country. Use only
the supplied power cord. To avoid damage do not walk on it, pinch or twist
it unnecessarily. If it becomes damaged replace it immediately or contact our
Customer Service.
• This appliance is equipped with a fuse for protection. If the fuse blows it must be
replaced with the same type with a 2A rating.
• If the appliance is defective, unplug it from the mains or switch off the circuit
breaker in the fuse box. Contact Customer Service.
• This appliance must be placed in an upright position on a flat level surface. It
relies on gravity to keep some components in place as well as to avoid spilling
liquids.
• Use only original The Alchemist Atelier door covers.
• Do not open the door with a bottle in the holder. Remove the bottle from the
holder before opening or closing the door to prevent it from falling.
• Do not remove the bottle from the holder when the appliance is operating. Wait
until you hear that it has finished working to remove the bottle.
• Do not open the door if you hear the Scent Creator is operating. Wait until you
hear that it has finished working, then open the door.

• When the drawer is out do not push down on it too hard, as it may tip over the
appliance.
• Do not obstruct the ventilation slots in the back of the appliance. Although very
little heat is produced inside, ventilation is required for proper operation.
• There is an optical sensor behind the bottle holder. Keep it clean so that it can
detect the presence or absence of a bottle. This is necessary for proper opera-
tion of the appliance.
There are no user serviceable parts in the appliance. Please refer all repairs to our
Customer Service. For basic troubleshooting go to page 12 in this guide.
Safety of Scents and Fragances
• Use only original The Alchemist Atelier scent cartridges and formula bottles.
• Do not poke into the cartridge openings or otherwise tamper with them. The
Scent Creator keeps a precise count of the amount of scent dispensed and tam-
pering could alter the content and lead to erroneous estimations.
• Check the safety warnings printed on each cartridge regarding
alcohol and other scent ingredients. Make sure you are not allergic
to any of them.
• The formulas produced in the appliance are for external use only.
Apply to wrists and neck for optimum results. Do not swallow.
• Legal information about the ingredients for each formula created
with the app will appear in each formula’s record. See the app for
details.
• When not in use, do not leave a formula bottle in the holder. It could
be accidentally bumped out of the holder, or it could fall if the appli-
ance is moved. Additionally, any formula in the bottle could evaporate.

USING THE SCENT CREATOR
Preparing the Appliance
To begin using the Scent Creator make sure you have scent cartridges, empty
formula bottles and a door cover.
1. Open the door by pushing on both sides of the
bottom half of the door. It will click open, then you
can pull the drawer out all the way.
2. If this is your first use, remove any protective pack-
aging. Remove the cardboard protective cover
from the door and attach your new cover. Magnets
will hold it in place.
3. Insert scent cartridges into empty slots in the
basket. When inserting a cartridge into the basket
make sure it goes in all the way.
4. Push the drawer in and close the door by pushing on both sides of the bottom
half until it clicks shut.
5. Connect the supplied power cord to the socket located at the rear.
6. Plug the power cord into the mains.
7. Turn on the power switch located at the rear. If this is your first use the status
lights will blink indicating that a Bluetooth connection is needed.
Pairing your Smartphone
You will only need to do this once. Your devices will remember the pairing after-
wards.

1. Install the Alchemist Atelier app on your smartphone. Open the app and select the
pairing feature.
2. Make sure the Bluetooth function is activated on your smartphone.
3. When prompted, enter the pairing code that is printed on the label on the door.
Remove the door cover to see the label. The status lights will stop blinking
when the pairing is complete.
4. Put the cover back on the door and close it.

Status Lights
The status lights indicate the status of the Scent Creator and are useful
for knowing what it is doing and if it’s waiting for an action from the
user. The following table explains the meaning of the indications:

Making your Formula
1. Put an empty bottle in the holder. Make sure the
capacity matches the amount of formula you
want to make, otherwise the liquid could overflow.
Always use an empty bottle for each formula. If
there is any left in the bottle and you make more it
could overflow.
2. Play with the app mixing your own formulas or
using popular formulas shared by other users.
Our growing user community is a great source for
inspiration where you can also share your cre-
ations. Follow the instructions in the app.
3. When the bottle has been filled, remove it from the
holder. To mix well your newly made formula don’t
shake it briskly, just tap the bottle with your fingers.
4. Screw the pump onto the bottle as soon as
possible to preserve the formula’s properties. To
avoid cross-contaminating your formulas, you should always use a new pump
for each new formula.
5. Remember to turn off the switch when you have finished.
Collecting Scents and Formulas
Each basket can hold up to 12 cartridges but there
are many more available scents. You can keep scent
collections in different baskets so you will easily have
them ready to produce your favorite formulas. This
way you can simply swap baskets to quickly have
together all the scents you need for a formula.
Put a label on each bottle to identify your formulas.
When travelling or to prevent the pump from being
pushed accidentally, put on our special clamp.

MAINTENANCE
Scent Cartridges
Always keep enough scent cartridges to produce your favorite formulas, replacing
them as they become empty. If all the cartridges in the basket are empty the appli-
ance can’t produce any formula.
You can find all the currently available scents in the app.
Remember to return your used empty cartridges for recycling.
Cleaning
Keep the appliance clean by wiping the visible surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
The area below the bottle holder is the most likely to collect drops or dust.
To clean the door cover more comfortably you may remove it from the door.
The optical sensor behind the bottle holder must be kept clean. Wipe with a clean
damp cloth as needed.
The basket pan should be cleaned with a damp cloth if any scent drops fall on it.
To do so, open the door and remove the basket.
The basket may also be wiped with a clean damp cloth.
If necessary, you may remove a cartridge and wipe it with a clean damp cloth.
Avoid touching any of the openings! Then put it back in the basket.
To reuse bottles, we recommend washing with water and detergent (in dishwasher
or by hand), only when they are empty, and let dry completely before adding a new
formula.
The bottle pump should not be washed, always replace for each new formula.

To avoid damaging the Scent Creator, do not use the following materials for
cleaning:
• abrasive or corrosive cleaning products
• cleaning products with a high alcohol content
• hard scouring pads or sponges
• high pressure water or vapor cleaning machines
• hot cleaning products
