12. Grounding or Polarization - This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a

feature.Ifyouareunabletoinserttheplugfullyintotheoutlet,tryreversingtheplug.Iftheplugshouldstillfailto

plug.
Alternate Warnings - This product may be equipped with a three-wire grounding-type plug, a plug having a

13. Power-Cord Protection - Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or
pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience

14. Protective Attachment Plug - The product is equipped with an attachment plug having overload protection.
This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If
replacement of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by

15. OutdoorAntennaGrounding-Ifanoutsideantennaisconnectedtothereceiver,besuretheantennasystem
isgroundedso as to provide some protection againstvoltagesurgesand built-up static charges. Article 810of
theNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70, provides information with regard to proper groundingofthemast
and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna-discharge unit, size of grounding
conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the
groundingelectrode.Seefigure:
16. Lightning - For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and
unusedforlongperiodsoftime,unplugit fromthewalloutletanddisconnecttheantennaorcablesystem.This
willpreventdamagetotheproductduetolightningandpower-linesurges.
17. PowerLines-Anoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbelocatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlinesorother
electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside
antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact
withthemmightbefatal.
18. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can

Your SMG-301 Compact Disc + Graphics Karaoke Center will provide you with many years of
funand entertainment.Itcanlet youbethe“star”asyousingalongwith yourfavoriterecordings
andhearyourvoicewiththemusicthroughthesystem’sspeakers.
ThisKaraokeCenteriseasytouse,yetfulloffeatureswithacompactdesign.Justafewsimple
instructionsandyouwillbecomeanexpert.Beforeyouuseyourunit,pleaseglancethroughthis
manual to familiarize yourself with all the features available and the sections of the manual that

Auto Voice Control- lets you replace the original singer's voice with your own voice when any
prerecorded, multiplex karaoke disc or tape is played. To activate, just rotate Mic Volume to a
comfortable listening level, and Auto Voice Control for the best balance between playback and
microphonelevels.
Balance Control - lets you adjust the balance between the prerecorded original singer's voice
andthemusicifyouuseamultiplexkaraokedisc.
EchoControl-letsyouaddanechotoenrichyourvoiceforaconcerthalleffect.
MultipleKaraokemusiccenter-itplaysaudioCompactDiscs,CD+Graphicsdiscs.

In order to display song lyrics from CDG also to appear on TV screen, you must connect the
included video cable (yellow colored RCA single-plug) to the Video Output jack on the back of
yourSMG-301unit.Thenconnecttheotherendofthevideoplug(yellow)totheVideoInputjack
of the television. If your television does not have the required Video Input, you will need an RF
Modulator(RadioFrequencyModulator),whichconnectsthroughyourTVantennaorcableline
andservesasVideoInput.
CONNECTINGANAUDIOCOMPONENTFORINPUT
To connect another audio source (such as a Tuner, an AV Receiver or a VCR) so you can sing
along with its music, simply connect the Audio Output jacks (Red & White RCAjacks) to the
SingingMachine’sAUXINR&Ljacks.

Please have the sample CDG demo disc provided with your Singing Machine playing in the
Singing Machine when you are making these connections so you will see the lyrics on the
screenassoonasyouhavethesetupcompletedcorrectly.
You must specify the source you wish to view when you are connecting the video out from the
Singing Machine to either a TV or a VCR. Every TV and VCR manufacturer accomplishes the
set-up a little differently. Even though every TV and VCR is a little different, the general idea is
thesame-ifyouhavetwosourcesofvideosignal(cableorantennaandSingingMachine),you
havetospecifywhichoneisdisplayedonthescreen.
If you have never used the video input RCA jack on your TV/VCR you should consult your
TV/VCR user guide. If you don’t have the manual for your TV or VCR, we suggest calling the
customer service department for your manufacturer. They will be able to tell you very quickly
howtoconfigureyourTVorVCRtodisplaythevideoconnection.
ThethreemostcommonwaystosetuptheTV/VCRare:
1) A ‘Video’ button may be on the TV/VCR or on the remote control. Pressing ‘Video’ may
displaytheinputfromyourSingingMachine.
2) Try looking for a ‘Video’ channel between the regular channels on your TV/VCR. Do this by
setting the channel on the TV/VCR to channel 2 then pressing the ‘Down’ channel button to
seeif thereis a‘Video In’ or ‘Line In’ between the lowest channel and the highest channel on
yoursystem.
3) Theconfigurationmay also be located intheset-up menu on the TV/VCR.Lookfor a section
on ‘Input Selection’ where you might be able to choose the input source i.e. ‘Cable/Ant.’,
‘Video1’,‘LineIn’or‘VideoIn’.

A DC jack is provided for external DC power for use in a car, boat or RV. Please be sure that
inside of the jack is connected to ⊕12Vside and the outside of jack is connected to , negative
side battery. 12 volts fuse protected lighter style plug extension cord with adapter is
recommended.
