
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - Please read carefully
General Step by Step Guidelines:
1. Secure the horse in cross ties.
2. Before treatment, brush dirt a ay from the head and throat of the horse.
3. Pre- arm the Hood system on the high setting for a fe minutes before
placing on the horse’s head.
4. Fasten the Hood comfortably on the horse using the Velcro Straps.
5. Use the high setting for first 10 minutes of therapy.
6. After the initial ten minutes, turn the s itch to the lo setting and maintain
this setting until the therapy session is complete.
7. Disinfect the inside of the Hood ith a mild disinfectant after use and allo it
to dry before storing in a clean place.
8. If necessary sponge off the horse’s head after treatment.
Important Safety Instructions
• Never use the Thermotex Hood along ith any type of liniment, salve or
ointment.
• Do not put on the horse and leave unattended. Check hide under the Hood
frequently.
• Do not immerse the Hood cover in ater unless the heat inserts and iring
harness have been removed.
• Do not use pins or other metallic objects to hold the Hood cover in place.
• Never use heat inserts ithout yello cover in place.
• Periodically examine the heat inserts (PVC). Return the Hood for repair if
the heat inserts sho any sign of deterioration.
• Do not fold or bend the heat inserts.
• Do not pull the Hood by the cord or use the cord as a handle.

There are two heat inserts in the Hood
System
One heat insert is positioned on the top of
the forehead, midway between the eyes
and the other heat insert is positioned mid
centre beneath the jaw.
The “hard side” of the heat insert should
be placed inside the Hood co er so that
the hard side is facing toward the horse
when the Hood is in place
Each heat insert plugs into the harness
which runs up through the top of the
system
