Features
• As a convenience aid, the unit provides you
with a light when you need it, in such dark
places as stairways, basements and car park
entrances. No need to search for the
lightswitch.
• It uses a built-in passive infra-red (PIR)
sensor that instantly detects moving body
heat and activates the built-in light when
someone moves within the detection area.
• It lights instantly and remains on as long as
there is a moving heat source in the area. The
light will switch off 20 seconds after the last
detection is made.
• A light sensor is incorporated to prevent
operation during daylight hours.
• Energy saving – you will never forget to turn
this light off because in auto your light is
only on when you need it.

Battery installation
The unit operates on 6V DC,
supplied by 4 AA alkaline
batteries.
Remove battery compartment
cover by pressing down on the
arrow and sliding outwards.
Insert batteries into the battery
compartment with correct
polarity as indicated and slide
cover shut.
Bulb replacement
A spare bulb is included in the pack.
Using a cross head screwdriver remove
the lamp diffuser screw. Pull the diffuser
outwards at the top and then lift it clear of the
lamp body.
Unscrew the lamp (anti-clockwise) and
remove it.
Make sure the new bulb is screwed tightly into
the holder (finger pressure only), then replace
the diffuser and fixing screw.

Detection area
Position the unit so that potential paths taken by
people cut across the beams as shown below and
not directly at them.
The unit should be fitted about 1 to 1.5 metres above the
ground. It should not be mounted near or pointing at air
conditioning vents, near heating flues or above radiators,
or aimed at the road where passing cars may activate it.
Please note this PIR light will only operate in darkness
and therefore can only be tested in a darkened room.
Note: the light detection pattern may vary with climatic
conditions. Sporadic activation is also possible due to
large electrical supply fluctuations or poor electrical
connections in the premises.

Operation
1 Set the switch to ON. The lamp should light up.
2 Set the switch to Auto. The lamp will function if:
1. It is after dusk. 2. There is a moving heat
source in the area (body heat).
1 Warm-up Period:
The lamp will light for around 40 seconds while the
PIR sensor stabilises. It will then turn off waiting for
the first detection.
2 First Entry:
The lamp will light when a moving heat source enters
the detection area. It remains on as long as there is a
moving heat source present.
3 Switch-off Delay:
When the heat source leaves the detection area the unit
will automatically shut off after 20 seconds.
5 Second Entry:
The lamp will light again when a moving heat source
enters the detection area. It remains on as long as a
heat source is moving, turning off 20 seconds after the
last detection.
4 Reset:
The unit is immediately ready to detect again.
