Noise level

NOTE: Take care of small parts that are removed during assembly
or when making adjustments. Keep them secure to avoid loss.
The sound values have been determined according to noise test code given
in EN 50434, using the basic standards ISO 3744 and ISO 11094.
Wear hearing protection, especially when sound pressure is over 80 dB(A).
The noise figures quoted are emission levels and are not necessarily safe
working levels. Factors that influence the actual level of exposure of
work-force include the characteristics of the work room, the other sources of
noise, etc. i.e. the number of machines and other adjacent processes, and the
length of time for which an operator is exposed to the noise. Also the
permissible exposure level can vary from country. This information, however,
will enable the user of the machine to make a better evaluation of the hazard
and risk.

Assembly
NOTE: The product is heavy, ask another person for assistance if
required.
Unpack all parts and lay them on a flat, stable surface.
Remove all packing materials and shipping devices if applicable.
Make sure the delivery contents are complete and free of any damage. If
you find that parts are missing or show damage do not use the product but
contact your dealer. Using an incomplete or damaged product represents a
hazard to people and property.

This shredder TTB683SHR is designated with a rated power input of 2500 Watts
(S6:40%)
This product is designed for cutting of fibrous and woody garden waste for
composting.
This product is not intended for shredding pieces of metal, rocks, bottles, cans,
etc. or soft waste such as kitchen rubbish.
For safety reasons it is essential to read the entire instruction manual before first
operation and to observe all the instructions therein.
This product is intended for private domestic use only, not for any commercial
trade use. It must not be used for any purposes other than those described.

Set the forward/reverse switch (13) to forward mode “ ”;
Always adjust the clearance between the cutting plate(4c) and
cutting blades (4b) before using the product!
For an effective operation, adjust the blade clearance regularly.
NOTE: Repetitions of forward and reverse operations may be
required to shred a large object.
The cutting plate(4c) is set from 0 to 0.5 mm closed to the cutting blades(4b); this
distance should be kept to achieve effective operation.
Switch the product on.
Turn the cutting plate adjustment knob (5) slowly in a clockwise direction until
a scraping noise is heard (metal plate making contact with the cutter head).
Fine aluminium shavings will fall from the discharge chute (Figs. 7, 8).
As soon as the scraping noise is heard, rotate the adjustment knob
anti-clockwise 1/4 of a turn. Ensure that the metal plate is not making contact
with the cutter head.
Avoid unnecessary wear on the cutting plate by not over-adjusting.
After adjusting, make shredding tests to check if the best effect is achieved.

WARNING! Never attempt to open the guard (4a) of blade
compartment (4) by yourself!
If the blockage occurs on the blades in the lower part of the motor unit, contact
an authorised service centre or a similarly qualified person to have it checked
and repaired.
Switch the product off immediately if you are disturbed while working by
other people entering the working area. Always let the product come to
complete stop before averting.
Do not overwork yourself. Take regular breaks to ensure you can
concentrate on the work and have full control over the product.
Inspect the material to be shredded before starting. Remove any objects or
debris that could be thrown, jammed or become entangled in the blades.
Remove any soil from root balls. Foreign bodies like stones, glass, metals,
fabricsor plastics must not enter the feeding funnel, these could damage
the blades.
Always place the product on firm, level ground. During operation, do not tilt
or move the product.
Allow the cutting means to reach full speed before feeding the material into
the feeding funnel.
Do not fill soft waste such as kitchen rubbish into the feeding funnel, but
compost them.
Long material extending out from the product could lash out when being
drawn in by the blades. Keep at safe distance.
Only insert as much material so that the feeding funnel will not be blocked
up.
Keep hold of branches while feeding them into the product until they are
automatically drawn in.
Soft materials (e.g. leaves, stems) may block the opening of feeding funnel.
Use plunger to push them onto the cutting means if necessary.
Always feed the material, especially the branches, into the larger opening
of the feeding funnel.
Keep to the working speed of the product and do not overload it.
Keep a few dry branches for the end, as they will help clean the product.
Only switch the product off when all of the shredding material has passed
through the discharge chute. Otherwise, the discharge chute may jam the
next time you switch the product on.
Ensure the shredded material can fall freely from the discharge chute.
To make finer compost the shredded material can be shredded for a
second time.
Do not allow the shredded material to build up to a level where it blocks the
discharge chute. If the material builds up too far, it could reach the cutting
blades and be thrown out of the feeding funnel.
Organic material contains a large amount of water and sap that can stick to
the product. To avoid this, the material should be left for a few days to dry
out. Large branches however are best shredded when they are fresh.
If the cutting means stalls during operation, stop the product immediately
and disconnect the product from the power supply before investigating the
cause.
