INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Removeunitfromenclosurebypushingtheinsidetab
(locatedneartheoutsidehasp)totheright.Swingunit
toleftandremove.
2. Five combination 1/2” and 3/4” knockouts are pro-
videdonthisenclosure.Removethe1/2”(inner)knock-
outbyinsertingascrewdriverintheslotprovidedand
pound screwdriver handle with a hammer. Remove
knockout with pliers and smooth hole edges with the
leandknifeifnecessary.Whenthe3/4”outerknock-
outisrequired,placescrewdriveringrooveandpound
screwdriverhandlewithhammer.Removelooseknock-
outwithpliersandsmoothholeedgeswithleorknife
ifnecessary.
Disconnectpoweratmainpanelpriortoinstallingorservic-
ingthistimeswitchortheequipmentconnectedtoit.Con-
nectinaccordancewithnationalandlocalelectricalcodes.
Installation by a liscensed electrical contractor is recom-
mended.
3. Whenattachingconduittoenclosure,exercisecareto
alignandsupportconduitinordertopreventunneces-
sarystressonenclosure.
4. Reinstall unit by reversing Step 1 above and connect
wiresaccordingtowiringdiagramoninsidecaselabel.
GROUNDING
NationalElectricalCoderequiresthatgroundingmustbe
continuousandinproperelectricalcontactinallground-
ingconductors,metallicconduitsandgroundingterminals.
Whenusingmetalconduits,installthepropersizeap-
provedgroundingbushings.Theminimumsizecopper
groundingconductorsmustbe#10AWGifthecircuit
breakerorfuseis30or40amps,#12AWGif20amps,
and#14AWGif15amps.
NOTE: Donotusetopentryforwiring.
WE SUGGEST YOU MAKE COPIES OF THE SCHEDULE
SHEETS LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THIS BOOKLET AND
COMPLETE THEM PRIOR TO SETTING THE UNIT.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING THE UNIT
Connectunittomainpowersourcepriortoenteringtheset-
tings.Whenpoweringuptheunitforthersttime,allow1-2
minutestocharge the supercapandthedisplaywill show
12HOUR.
PressHOURtochangeto24hour(militaryformat)orpress
ENTERtoset12hour(AM/PMformat).
NOTES:
1. DuringtheRUNmode,theHour,Minuets,Seconds,Day
oftheweekandashingcolonswillbedisplayed.
2. Theunitwillnotgointorunmodeunlesstheclockand
dateareset.Inanyothermode,ifnoentriesaremade
for5minutes,theunitwillautomaticallygotorunmode.
3. Unitwill display “PF”(PowerFailure) intheabscence
ofACpower.Aminimumof8hoursisrequiredtofully
chargethesupercap.
4. Whenpreviouslyprogrammedunitcomesbackfroma
powerfailure,itwill“lookback”andupdatethesched-
ule,executingthelastscheduledevent.Ifasignalsetting
wasscheduled,afterpowerfailuretheunitwillexecute
thelastscheduledsignal.Settingscanbemanuallyup-
datedbypressingtheEVENTkeyintherunmode.
AfterpressingENTERtheunitwilldisplay:

2.1 TO MODIFY DATE
Press MODE until the display shows DATE. Press MONTH,
DATE and YEAR to modify present settings and then press
ENTER.
3.0 DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Aftersettingormodifyingthedate,thedisplaywillshow:
a. Forstandard USAdaylight savings(DST), pressMODE
andgotostep4.0.
b. FordatesotherthanstandardUSAdates,pressMONTH
andgotostep3.1.
c. Ifdaylightsavingstime(DST)isNOTrequired,pressDEL
andthedisplaywillshow:
PressENTERthengotostep4.0.
3.1 MODIFY STANDARD DAYLIGHT SAVINGS DATES
NOTE:Thersttwodigitsrepresentthemonthandthesec-
ondsetofdigitsrepresentstheweekinthemonth.Choices
for the week are 01 (1st), 02 (2nd), 03 (3rd) or L (Last)
weekofthemonth.ThedefaultdayisSunday(SU).Oncethe
modieddateisset,theunitwillautomaticallycalculatethe
correctstartdatesinthefuture.
NowpresstheMONTHandDATEbuttonstomodifythestart-
ingDSTsettings.PressingDAYchangesthedefaultday.EX-
AMPLE: A screen showing “04:01 SU S” represents April
(04),therstweek(01),Sunday(SU),andtheStart(S)of
daylightsavingstime.
PressENTERtosaveandthedisplaywillshow:
NowpresstheMONTHandDATEbuttonstomodifytheend-
ingDSTsettings.PressingDAYchangesthedefaultday.EX-
AMPLE:Ascreenshowing“10:LSUE”representsOctober
(10),theLastweek(L),Sunday(SU),andtheEnd(E)ofday-
lightsavingstime.

4. When any two or more seasons overlap, the higher
numberedseasonhaspriority.

CHANNEL

NOTE:
a. Usetheprocedure abovetosetthe signaldurationfor
signal2ortosetthesignaldurationforotherchannels
ifdesired.
b. Eachchannelcanhavetwoindependentdurations(sig1
andsig2).
7.0 SCHEDULE SET MODE

Press MODE until “SCH01” appears. Press ENTER until a
blank schedule appears then press SELCT to select the de-
siredchannel.PressHOUR,MIN,andEVENTtosetdesired
ONtime.PressSELCTtoselectdesireddays,holidayand/or
seasonsandthenpressENTER.
ASTRO OFF:SetastronomicOFFpersection8.0and8.1.
9.0 REVIEW, MODIFY AND DELETE
PressMODEtoadvancetoanyofthefollowingMODES:
1. CLOCKMODE:PressHOURandMINtomodifyexisting
settings.PressENTER.
2. DATEMODE:PressMONTH,DATE,andYEARtomodify
existingsettings.PressENTER.DAYisautomaticallyad-
justed.
3. DSTDaylightSavingTime:ToreviewpressENTER.Press
MONTH, DATE, and DAY to modify existing settings.
PressENTER.
4. SEASON MODE: Press ENTER to advance to desired
season.PressMONTHandDATEtomodify,andDELto
delete.PressENTERtoconrm.
5. HOLIDAY MODE: Press ENTER to advance to desired
Holidy.PressMONTHandDATEtomodify, DELtode-
lete.PressENTER.
6. SIGNAL MODE: Press ENTER to advance to desired
channel.PressSIG/SECtomodify,DELtodelete.Press
ENTER.
7. SCHEDULEMODE:PressENTERtoadvancetodesired
channel.PressHOUR,MIN,EVENT(SIG1/SIG2)tomod-
ifytimesettings.PressSELCTandDAYtomodifydays,
holidayand/orseasons,DELtodelete.PressENTERaf-
tereachmodication.
8. ASTROMODE:PressSELCTtoselectdesiredchannel.
Press LAT to change latitude. Press ENTER. Press DAY
andSELCT to addordelete daysinthesunset mode.
PressENTER.PressHOURand/orMINtochangeoffset
timeforsunset.PressEVENTtochangeoffsetfrom+to
--.PressENTERandfollowthesameprocedureaboveto
modifyorreviewsunrisesettings.
9. RUNMODE:Time,dayandsecondsaredisplayed.If
todayisaprogrammedholiday,andH(Holiday)will
bedisplayedsteady.Iftodayfallswithinaprogrammed
seasonthatseason#willbedisplayed.
10.0 OVERRIDE
OVRDE1toOVRDE4(overridekeys)areeffectiveonlyinthe
run mode.IfachannelisscheduledforON/OFF(non-signal
timer),thenthechannelwillchangethepresentloadstatus
untilthenextscheduledevent.CH#willashwhentheload
isoverriddenfromscheduledevent.
NOTE: Ifachannelisasignaltimer,thentheloadwillturn
oneachtime theoverridekeyis pressed forthelengthof
SIG1duration.CH#willashwhiletheloadison.While
thesignalisinprogress,itcanbeterminatedbyusingthe
overridekey.
EVENT(intheRUNmode)keyisusedtoupdatetheloadsta-
tus.Itwillexecutethelastscheduledeventforallchannels.
ThedisplaywillonlyshowthelastscheduledeventforCH1.
To viesw the last scheduled event for other channels, sim-
plypresstheEVENTkeyagain.Ifthereisnoschedulepro-
grammedforaspecicchannel,thedisplaywillshow--:--

SETTINGS ARE ACTIVE. DOING SO WILL TURN OFF ANY
CONNECTED LOADS.
Followstepsbelow:
-Takeunitoutofenclosure
-Locatethecopyswitch(redswitchlabeledBP01).
-PuttheswitchontheONposition.
-Placeunitbackinenclosure.
-Connectpowercord.
-Putbackinsulatorthatcoverstheterminalblock.Make
surenoterminalsareexposedtotheoperator.
-ApplyACpowertotheunit.
-Insertthepininthesmallpinhole(locatedintheupper
righthandcorner)toresettheunit.
-Theunitwilldisplaythemodel#andtherevision#,fol-
lowedby:
NOTE: MakesureMemoryModulewithprogramisinserted
intheunit.
Thiswillpreparetheunittoreadschedulesettingsfromthe
insertedMemoryModule.PressEVENT,displaywillshow:

-Removeunitfromenclosure.
-LocatethecopyswitchandsetittoOFF(redswitchla-
beledBP01).
-Putunitbackinenclosure.
-Putbackinsulatorthatcoverstheterminalblock.
-Makesurenoterminalsareexposedtotheoperator.
-ApplyACpowertounit.
-Insertthepininthesmallpinhole(locatedintheupper
righthandcorner)toresettheunit.
-Setthetimeanddate.
CAUTION: DONOTREMOVEMEMORYMODULEWHILE
UNIT IS ACTIVE. THE UNIT MUST BE RESET; TIME AND
DATE MUST BE RE-ENTERED TO MAKE SCHEDULE SET-
TIGNSEFFECTIVEONTHEMEMORYMODULE.
NOTE: AFTER MAKING ANY CHANGES TO THE PRO-
GRAM,PRESSMODETOGOTORUNMODEANDTHEN
PRESSEVENTTOUPDATETHELOADSTATUS.
