GeneralInformation
•Readtheinstructionscarefully.Befamiliarwiththe
controlsandtheproperuseoftheequipment.
•Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliarwiththese
instructionstousethelawnmower.Localregulationscan
restricttheageoftheoperator.
•Nevermowwhilepeople,especiallychildrenorpets,are
nearby.
•Theoperatororuserisresponsibleforaccidentsor
hazardsoccurringtootherpeopleortheirproperty.

Preparation
•Whilemowing,alwayswearsubstantialfootwearandlong
trousers.Donotoperatetheequipmentwhenbarefoot
orwearingopensandals.
•Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipmentisto
beused,andremoveallobjectswhichcanbethrownby
themachine.
•Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyinspecttoseethattheblade,
bladebolts,andcutterassemblyarenotwornordamaged.
Replaceawornordamagedbladeandboltsasasetto
preservebalance.
•Tororecommendsthatthemowershouldbesupplied
witharesidualcurrentdevice(RCD)havingatripping
currentofnotmorethan30mA.
•Useonly1.00mm2sizeextensioncordnomorethan30
mlongsuitableforoutdooruse(ifapplicable).
•Regularlyinspectthepowercordsforsignsofdamageor
aging.Replaceimmediatelyifdefective.
•Donotusethemowerifanypowercordisdamagedor
worn.
•Donotconnectadamagedextensioncordtothemains
supplyortouchadamagedcordbeforeitisdisconnected
fromthemainssupply.Adamagedcordcanleadto
contactwithliveparts.
Handling
•Mowonlyindaylightoringoodarticiallight.
•Avoidoperatingtheequipmentinwetgrass,where
feasible.
•Alwaysbesureofyourfootingonslopes.
•Walk;neverrun.
•Forwheeledrotarymowers,mowacrossthefaceof
slopes,neverupanddown.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenchangingdirectionon
slopes.
•Donotmowexcessivelysteepslopes.
•Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpullingthelawn
mowertowardyou.
•Switchoffthemowerwhentransportingitfromone
cuttingareatoanother.Stopthebladewheneveryou
movethemoweroffthelawn.
•Neveroperatethelawnmowerwithdefectiveguardsor
withoutmountedsafetydevices(forexample,deectors
and/orgrasscatchers)inplace.
•Switchonthemotorcarefullyaccordingtoinstructions
andwithfeetwellawayfromtheblade.
•Donottiltthelawnmowerwhenswitchingonthemotor,
exceptifthelawnmowerhastobetiltedforstarting.In
thiscase,donottiltitmorethanabsolutelynecessaryand
liftonlythepartwhichisawayfromtheoperator.Always
ensurethatbothhandsareintheoperatingposition
beforereturningtheappliancetotheground.
•Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.
Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
•Neverpickuporcarryalawnmowerwhilethemotoris
running.
•Pulltheplugfromthesocket:
–wheneveryouleavethelawnmower;
–beforeclearingablockageorremovingmaterialfrom
thechute;
–beforechecking,cleaning,orworkingonthelawn
mower;
–afterstrikingaforeignobject.Inspectthelawn
mowerfordamageandmakerepairsbeforerestarting
andoperatingthelawnmower;
–ifthelawnmowerstartstovibrateabnormally(check
immediately).
•Iftheextensioncordbecomesdamagedduringuse,stop
themower,removeplugfromthemainssupply,and
replacethedamagedextensioncord.
•Donottouchthebladesbeforethemachineis
disconnectedfromthemainssupplyandthebladeshave
cometoacompletestop.
•Keeptheextensioncordawayfromtheblades.The
bladescancausedamagetotheextensioncordandlead
tocontactwithliveparts.

Followingthesuggestedmowingpatternwillreducetherisk
ofrunningoverthecordwiththemower,andthecordwill
notsustainunnecessarywear.Donotallowthepowercord
towraparoundtrees,shrubs,orotherobstacles.
Beginbymowingneartheelectricalpowersource.Mowback
andforth,graduallymowingawayfromthepowersource

tostall.Theymayalsobeslipperytowalkonandcould
causeyoutoslipandfall.
•Whilecuttingsingleswaths,ensureanoverlapofabout
4cm.
•Whencuttingverytallgrass,youmaywanttorstmow
atthehighestheight-of-cutsettingandaslowerwalking
speed;thenmowagainatalowersettingforbestlawn

adouble-insulatedappliancerequiresextremecareand
knowledgeofthesystem,andshouldbedoneonlybythe

Dealer.Replacementpartsforadouble-insulatedappliance
mustbeidenticaltothepartstheyreplace.Adouble-insulated

Aftereachuse,cleanthemowerhousing.
Beforecleaning,stopthemotor,waitforallmovingpartsto

Important:Donotcleanthemowerwithwater.
Moisturecangettrappedinthemowerandmaycause
corrosionofinternalparts.

Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearordamage,
andreplaceawornordamagedblade.

Important:Checkthebalanceofthebladebyputtingit
onabladebalancer.Youcanpurchaseaninexpensive
balanceratahardwarestore.Abalancedbladestaysina
horizontalposition;anunbalancedbladesettlestothe
heavyside.Ifthebladeisnotbalanced,lemoremetal
offthecuttingedgeontheheavyendoftheblade.
InstallingtheBlade
Installasharp,balancedbladeandthebladebolt.Thesail
partoftheblademustpointtowardthetopofthemower
housingtoensurecorrectinstallation.Tightenthebladebolt
to20N-m.
ServicingtheOn/OffandBlade
BrakeSystem
Themotorandbladearedesignedtostopwithin3seconds
afteryoureleasethecontrolbar.Ensurethatthecontrolbar
functionsproperlyeachtimebeforeyouoperatethemower.
Ifthebladedoesnotstopwithin3secondsorthereisa
grindingorscraping,metal-to-metalnoisewhenyourelease
thecontrolbar,contactanAuthorizedToroServiceDealer.
Thissamerecommendationappliesifyouobserveheavy
vibrationswhenusingthemower.
