Situation Important Information
Exceeding the maximum fuel level in the fuel tank could cause the following
to occur:
• Failure of the evaporative-emission-control (EEC) system (i.e., the
charcoal canister in the tank cap)
• Fuel leaking from the cap vent when the machine is tipped
Corrective Action When filling the fuel tank, do not add fuel beyond the full-tank level; referto
Service Instructions (Page 2).
Safety Awareness Follow reasonable and customary safety precautions.

Service Instructions
Preparing the Machine 1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Shut off the engine.
Filling the Fuel Tank 1. Clean around the fuel-tank cap and remove the cap from the tank.
2. Add the recommended fuel to the full level (i.e., to the bottom of the
fuel gauge) in the fuel tank.
Important: Do not fill the tank above this level.

3. Install the fuel-tank cap and wipe up any spilled fuel.
