Safety Precautions
The instruction manual and the labels affixed to the products or equipment give important
information for using products safely. It helps prevent damage to properties and hazard to people
who use them or work with them.
Make yourself familiar with the signal words and signs in this page, then read the safety precautions
that follow and always follow the instructions to avoid hazards.
Explanation of signal words
Signal word is a word that designates a degree or level of hazard seriousness.
The words WARNING and CAUTION are used for the products.
WARNING Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which could result in death or serious injury, if you do not follow the instructions.
CAUTION Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which may result
in minor or moderate injury and/or property damage, if you
do not follow the instructions.
Hazard alert shapes and symbols
Following shapes and symbols are used in the safety precaution labels affixed to the products and in
other places including operation manuals for giving safety instructions.
Filled circle means "Mandatory Action" or "Do as indicated."
Required action is shown in the circle or described near the circle.
Circle band with a diagonal slash means "Prohibition" or " You must not do."
Prohibited action is shown in the circle or described near the circle.
Triangle means "Hazard Alerting" or "Be alert against hazard."
The kind of hazard is shown in the triangle or described near the triangle.
Exclamation point with a triangle is a safety alert symbol which indicates a
potential hazard. It is used with a Signal Word.
Square or rectangle means "Information Messages" or "Notice."
Important precautions for system operation
System fault or data loss may occur in the event of power outage whether it is external or
internal of the system. Take precautions in advance to protect the system in order to prevent such
event to take place. Also back up your data regularly to minimize the possible damage by loss of
data as a result of such event.

Power shutdown prohibited

while the system is operating or data is being written.
This can cause an erroneous system operation or damage to data.
Resetting prohibited while

•Do not press the reset switch while the system is
operating or data is being written.
This can cause an erroneous system operation or damage to data.
The reset switch is used to initialize the system.

Program and data protection
Observe the following to prevent damage and loss of program or data:
•Backup the content of hard disk regularly.
•Do not turn off power switch while OS is booted.
•Do not press the reset switch while the system is operating or data is being written.
•Do not apply shock to hard disk drive.
•Use the key switch on the main unit front panel to stop the operation.
•For a system with a report function, you should avoid start/stop operation on the hour.
•Use the key switch on the main unit front panel to stop the operation.
•In a system where a report function is used, start/stop operation should be executed avoiding
every hour on the hour
•To switch between stop/redundant operations when the system is a redundant system, it should
be done after equalization is performed.
Limitation of use
•This product is not developed and manufactured for use in a system where equipment such as the
one directly involved in human life (Note 1) is included. Please do not use this system for those
applications.
•To use this product in a system where equipment such as the one human safety is involved and
affecting the maintenance of public function(Note 2), special consideration (Note 3) regarding the
system’s operation, maintenance and control is required. Contact Toshiba’s sales department.
Note 1 Example of equipment directly involved in human life is as follows:
Medical equipment such as a medical control system for sustaining life or equipment
used for medical operations
Note 2 System including equipment where human safety is involved and affecting the
maintenance of public function is a system such as shown below:
Main control system of an atomic power generating plant, safety protection system for
nuclear facilities and other critical safety systems
Operation control system and air traffic control system of mass transformational system
Note 3 Special consideration is to build a safety system (foolproof design, failsafe design,
redundant system design etc.) by discussing thoroughly with Toshiba’s engineers.

Regarding computer virus
This software does not have a function to check whether the computer is infected or not with a
computer virus.
Safety design with application programs
The OIS standard software offers the following functions for use in applications to build a safe
system:
Signboard label and operation lock to tag faceplates
Running operation level setting
Operation grouping with signal monitoring areas
Operation level grouping with tag mode
Furthermore, depending on the system’s required safety design level, system design to secure
safety in the system’s operation, maintenance and control other than the functions described above
is necessary.

Introduction
This manual describes mainly how to use and operate the SVR Service Control Package, which
is used to build OIS(SVR) (OIS with server functions) of TOSDIC-CIE DS.
To understand the functions of the SVR Service Control Package, read this manual thoroughly
before you use the system.
First, read "Safety Precautions" carefully to use the system safely and correctly. After you read
this manual, keep it in a place where you can find it easily when you need it.

Precautions on Operation
OIS(SVR) has the Historical/Report Database functions. To prevent your data from being lost,
follow the precautions described below.
Shut down the OIS by Shutdown of Windows.
Shutdown may take about 10 minutes to save data. Never turn off the power during
shutdown.
•Do not start up or shut down the OIS on the hour. For redundant configuration, do not
shut down the OIS nor switch redundancy while data is being mirrored.
•Observe the specifications regarding hardware configuration and engineering items.

1. SVR Service Control Package Overview
The SVR Service Control Package adds to OIS-DS the functions equivalent to those of SVR-DS
to make it as OIS(SVR) (OIS with server functions).
OIS(SVR) allows you to build a TOSDIC-CIE DS system without SVR-DS.
The SVR Service Control adds the following functions to OIS-DS.
•Historical/Report Database functions
•Internal Tag/OIS Parameter functions
•Guidance/History Save and Message Printing functions
These functions are equivalent to those of SVR-DS, but the limiting values such as the number of
tags are different
REFERENCE:

This package software operates on the OIS(SVR) hardware.

You need the separate OIS-DS Standard Software for this package software to operate.

This package software cannot be used in a system connected to SVR-DS.

The SVR Service Control Package implements the functions equivalent to those of SVR-DS on
OIS-DS.

1) Historical Database
Collects and saves tag data displayed in the Historical Trend.
2) Report Database
Database specifically for reports created from the Historical Database.
3) History Save
Saves the contents displayed on the History Display screen to the Historical Database.
(2) Tag Functions
1) OIS Parameter Tags
Allows you to tag and manage information such as Controller, OIS, and Polyline
parameters. Whendata part of a parameter tag is changed, this function outputs a message,
or outputs the content to a disk.
2) Internal Tags
Loads data from application programs on the OIS screens or ONS stations and performs
display monitoring as process data.

3) Guidance
Using event condition tasks, this function creates an alarm occurred, alarm displayed, or
alarm unidentified status to notify of the specified guidance tag messages when the
specified tag status changes. It also allows accessing as guidance information.
(3) Monitoring Functions
1) Event Conditions
Switches between 1 and 0 according to the changes in the status of process tags.
2) External Alarms
Outputs to a digital tags when triggered by alarm/guidance/event conditions.
3) Message Printing
Prints process alarms, system alarms, guidance, and OIS operation history to the printer.
(4) Redundancy Control
When OIS(SVR) has redundant configuration, the functions of SVR Service Control
Package has redundant operations with standby redundancy.
The redundancy control function monitors the another redundant station to control the
online/standby state.
(5) Station Timer Synchronization
Monitors and corrects the timer of the TOSDIC-CIE DS system.

Install the SVR Service Control Package software with the OIS Standard software.

Historical Database
The Historical Database is on the OIS(SVR) hard disk. It collects and saves historical trend data,
history messages, report data, and data of user applications running on the ONS station by
historical tag. These types of data are read out by OIS-DS and OIS(SVR).

When the save period expires, historical tag data is deleted from the Historical Database.
Historical tag data can be saved as Archive data on an auxiliary storage. When Archive data is
read out from the auxiliary storage, trend display can be performed as archive data, as for
historical tag data.

Historical Tag
Historical trend data, report messages, and report data are controlled for each historical tag. Up
to 2500 historical tags may be registered in OIS(SVR). For historical tags, the historical tag
name, tag number, atom name, collection cycle, save period are registered. Archive groups are
also registered.
For historical tags used in the Report function, report data processing type is registered.
Report Database
"Reports" performs report calculations of the historical tag data saved in the Historical Database
of OIS(SVR) and save it as Hour, Day, Month, or Year report tag data.
Saved report tag data can be printed out by the report printer of OIS-DS in the daily, monthly, or
annual report format.
The Report Database is on the OIS(SVR) hard disk. It performs report calculations of the
historical tag data collected and saved in the Historical Database and saves it by report tag.
When report data is changed, the other report data calculated from the report data is calculated
again.
Data can be written and read out from the Report Database. The Historical Tag Access Interface
is used for writing and reading.
