immediately:
Switch off!
Holding the trimmer firmly press the
head against the ground and bring
to a complete stop.
Disconnect the mains supply.
Check the condition of the cutting
head; look for damage, missing
parts and cracks.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION
Assembling Grass Trimmer (see Fig1,
Fig2 and Fig3)
Fig 1 Fig 2
Fig 3
Note: The machine may be fully
assembled, however this instruction
gives you full assembly details.
Insert the upper parts into lower part
firmly until a “click” is heard. Note: the
screw holes should be on the same side.
Guard Fitting
1. Position motor head/axle as shown in
Fig4, with screw fixing hole at the top
centre (remove pre-fitted screw).
2. Position guard with inner side, ie.
moulding facing you as shown in Fig5.
3. Lower the guard over the motor head/
axle (see Fig6) and align slots as shown
in Fig7 (note position of the tab).
4. Align marks on head of the unit and
the guard, turn the guard in a clockwise
direction, see Fig7.
Fig 4
Fig5
Fig 6
Fig 7

8
Warning! Take great care when
doing this as the guard has a very
sharp cutting edge.
5. Keep turning the guard until it locks
into position (the tab will lock into
place), insert screw into screw hole at
top centre and tighten. The guard is now
installed, see Fig.8
Fig 8

Preparing the trimmer for use
1. Cord tension relief: Form a loop with
the power cable and pull it through the
eyelet on the Trimmer’s handle. Place
the power cable around the knob, this
will prevent straining the power cable
during use, see Fig9 & Fig10.
Fig 9 Fig 10
2. Check the length of the nylon cutting
line, pull line to inner edge of outer
guard, if the line is very short, i.e. more
than 50mm away from the edge of
the guard. Push down on centre of the
cutting head and at the same time pull
the line a few centimeters beyond the
guard (see Fig11), when the trimmer
starts the line will automatically be cut
to the correct length.
Fig 11
3. When you need to increase the line
length during use you can simply ‘bump
feed’ the trimmer to restore line to
correct length.
To bump feed, turn on the
trimmer and gently bump the top of the
cutting head on a firm surface, the line
will be automatically extended and cut,
see Fig12.
Fig 12
OPERATING THE TRIMMER
1. To switch on the trimmer, press the
On/Off switch. To stop simply release the
On/Off switch (see Fig13).
2. If you find that the nylon line is
too short follow the instruction as in
preparing the trimmer for use’ section 3
(see Fig11).
Let the trimmer run for a few seconds
without touching the working area, and

9
allow the trimmer to cut the line.
Use the trimmer at an angle of
approximately 20 degrees to the
working area (see Fig14).
Swing the trimmer from side to side
(see Fig15).
3. Do not overload your trimmer, take
small “bites” this will keep machine
operating at high speed and will greatly
improve cutting efficiency, (see Fig16
and Fig17).
4. Use the edge of the guard as a guide
when using near fences walls etc, and
move in a backwards direction (see
Fig18).
TO REPLACE THE CUTTING
LINE
Always unplug the trimmer before
carrying out any maintenance
1. To replace the nylon line, first remove
the spool cover from the spool holder
by pushing down centre of the spool
and at the same time pressing the two
spool cover opening buttons firmly, now
remove the empty spool and replace
with a new pre-wound spool (see Fig19).
Fig 19
2. Insert the line through the “brass”
holes on the spool holder, pull line out.
Push spool inwards against the spring
clip and then push spool cover firmly
downwards until it locks into position
and at the same time pull lines and be
sure that they are released from spool
rail notches. If not, the bumping- feed
will not operate.
Follow the instruction on cutting the
line in “Preparing the trimmer for use”
section 4 before use (see Fig20).

any good garden or DIY center.
To rewind the spool with new line
(See Fig21 - 24)
Insert the line through a hole in the
spool and secure it. (See Fig21)
Fig 21
Snugly and evenly wind the cutting
line onto the spool in the direction of
the arrow on the spool until the line
builds up to the notches in the spool
rim. Do not overfill spool. (See Fig22 &
23)

Repeat to replace the other cutting
line.
Insert the line through the ‘brass’
holes on the spool holder, pull line out.
Push spool inwards against the spring
clip and then push spool cover firmly
downwards until it locks into position.
