Introduction
With the huge amounts of waste plastic bottles in our oceans and landll, compounded by the news
that the long-term use of cleaning chemicals can have an impact on your health, now means we need a
sustainable way for the world to clean.
Toucan Eco Worktop makes one litre of multipurpose disinfectant cleaner that kills up to 99.999% of
germs from just water, salt and an electrochemical reaction. It’s eco-friendly, eective and safe, and
replaces most chemical cleaners and the single use plastic bottles they are supplied in.
To make, simply ll the container with tap water, normal salt, then activate, which takes ve minutes.
Then spray, wipe or mop any surface, including glass and fabrics. For stains, spray and leave to soak.
Can be used as a deodoriser.
Certied to EN 1276 and 13697, EU Biocide, food safe and non-toxic, the solution contains 99.9%
water, hypochlorous acid and sodium hypochlorite at a gentle pH.
The kit includes the one litre jug, activation unit, measuring spoon, stirring rod, atomiser spray bottle,
adapter and plug, user instructions, and a bottle of salt to get you started.

The bottle is designed to atomise the solution into a mist-like spray for maximum coverage, and
includes a kinetic continuous spray action.

How it works
Activation Chemistry Shelf life
The solution is
electrochemically
activated by applying a
small, electrical current
using a specialised
electrolysis cell.
This recombines the
naturally occurring
elements of hydrogen,
oxygen and chloride into
hypochlorous acid (HOCl),
an eective disinfectant,
and sodium, oxygen and
chloride into sodium
hypochlorite (NaOCl), at a
concentration and mild
pH level that acts as a
gentle cleaning agent.
After 7 days the solution
reverts to slightly salty
water. You simply make
more!

Fill the jug with tap water to the 1 litre mark - it needs to be 1
litre to make the correct concentration. The water should be
between 5 to 35⁰C, and do not use puried water.
Place the jug on its base. The base will beep once and white
button remains lit. Activate the solution by pressing the button
once. The base light will ash and beep, the jug will light up blue
and bubbles appear as electrolysis begins.
Add 2g of table salt - that’s a at measure using the measuring
spoon provided. No more or less as this aects the electrolysis.
If too much salt is added, rinse out the jug and start again. Do
not use rock salt.
After 5 minutes the base beeps, blue jug and white button lights
stay on, and solution stops bubbling. It’s now ready to use and
pour into the bottle. After 3 minutes you can activate again,
indicated by a beep and lights switching o. This prevents the
device from overheating.

Stir the solution at least 8 times in the centre of the jug to
fully dissolve the salt. The salt acts as an electrolyte and if it
accumulates on the electrode the product will not work. Place
the lid on the jug, and wipe any water away from the electrodes
on the bottom of the jug.
Connect the adapter to the base unit, plug into a wall socket
and turn the power on at the wall. The base will beep and lights
ash twice.
Use the solution to safely spray, wipe or mop any surface clean
and germ free. It can also be used as a deodoriser by killing the
germs that creates the smell.
Please follow these steps otherwise your unit may
shutdown for 3 minutes to reset.
After use, rinse the jug in cold water, carefully wipe inside
and leave to dry. Do not touch the electrode guard.
Always use the adapter and plug supplied.
Do not remove the jug from the base until activated, as
this may damage the unit.
Do not dilute or mix with chemicals.
After 7 days pour the solution away and simply make
some more.

Simply make, spray, wipe or mop.
The solution will disinfect all hard surfaces and fabrics, killing up to
99.999% of germs.
And with a gentle pH of between 7.8 and 8.5 it’s a non-aggressive cleaner
too, leaving a smear-free nish on glossy surfaces without any chemical
residue.
Use it anywhere. There’s no need for one cleaner for the bathroom and
another for the kitchen – and use it liberally as it’s virtually free.
It’s ready to use - so don’t dilute it or mix it with chemicals as it’s made at
the perfect concentration.
It’s great for daily cleaning, and can be used as part of a deep clean for
disinfecting areas, but it’s not a heavy degreaser or descaler.
No special equipment is needed – use whatever cloths, bottles and mops
you normally use, again and again as we’re into reusing not wasting! But
for best results use microbre.
Once you’ve run out – or after seven days when the solution reverts to
slightly salty water – you simply make more.
Think of it as a multipurpose disinfectant
cleaner.

For wiping – spray the surface, even spray the cloth, then rub to remove all solution.
For fabric – spray and leave to soak before removing with a clean cloth or brush. Repeat
until clean.
For mopping – it’s great for pre-soaked microbre or spray mopping. And it’s ne to spray
alongside a bucket of hot water if that’s what you’re used to.
It’s also great as a deodoriser – it’s not designed to mask smells as it’s pretty much
fragrance free, but does kill the bacteria that causes the smell. And, as it’s hypoallergenic,
you can happily spray away.

1-year warranty
We warrant the device against defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary commercial and consumer use
from the date of the original purchase. During this warranty period, if a defect arises in the device and you follow the
instructions for returning the device, we will at our option to the extent permitted by law, either repair the device
using either new or refurbished parts, replace the device with a new or refurbished device that is the equivalent to
the device that is to be replaced, or refund to you all or part of the purchase price of the device.
This limited warranty also applies, to the extent permitted by law, to any repair, replacement part or replacement
device for the remainder of the original warranty period or for ninety days, whichever period is longer. All replaced
parts and devices for which a refund is given shall become our property.
This limited warranty applies only to the hardware components of the device that are not subject to accident, misuse,
neglect, re, or other external causes, alterations or repair. The device will not be warranted if the user instructions
are not followed resulting in:
• Corrosion or overheating of the electronics or terminals due to not cleaning and drying before use.
• Overheating of electronics and terminals due to repeated activations without allowing for the cooling-o period as
specied in the user manuals.
• Damage caused by using dirty or unltered water.
Warranty period
The products are warranted for a period of 1-year commencing from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is
required to claim warranty on the products. This does not aect your statutory rights.
Return of damaged units under warranty terms
Returns within 1-month of purchase should be the complete system in the original packaging. Returns after 1-month
and within 1-year should include the base unit, jug, lid, electrical adapter and plug. Returns of incomplete systems
will not be warranted.
For damaged or failed devices under warranty, return to either the Centrego authorised distributor you purchased the
device from, or Centrego Ltd, Unit N4, Marshall Way, Commerce Park, Frome, Somerset, BA11 2FB, UK.
When returning a failed unit, please provide the date of original purchase, name of company you purchased the
device from, reason for device failure, and name, address and email of the owner.

Safety instructions
The solution is very safe, however, there are some points you should bear in mind.
Do not spray into your eyes, drink, and keep out of reach of children.
Use the right amount of water and salt - and only ordinary salt, not rock salt. Do not add more salt
as this device will automatically stop working to prevent damage. And make sure the salt is
dissolved before activating.
Only produce as much solution as is needed as it has a short shelf life and will revert to salty
water after seven days.
Use water temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
Do not use puried, ground or polluted water.
Do not keep the electrolysed water in a drinking bottle or keep it in the fridge in case it's mistaken
for drinking water.
After each activation make sure the device is allowed 3 minutes to cool down between uses,
otherwise the electronics and terminals may overheat.
Store the unit at room temperature or in a cool place, and remove any moisture within the device
if it’s stored for long periods of time.
Do not use any chemicals or detergents, separate the guard that protects the electrode or wipe
with excessive force. Do not disassemble the device.

Troubleshooting
Trouble Checkpoint Remedy
Light won't turn on. Is the adapter and plug
properly connected?
Reconnect adapter and plug,
and switch on at mains.
No bubbles rising during
activation.
Did you add the salt?
Check the jug is placed
correctly on the base unit.
Add the salt, check the base
and try again.
The unit will not activate when
the start button is pressed after
previous activation cycle.
Did the previous activation
process nish and have you
waited 3 minutes?
When the activation process
is complete the device will
not run for the next 3 minutes
for safety reasons. Excessive
operation also causes safety
turn o. Please remove the plug
from socket outlet and cool
down for about 20 minutes.
Upon pressing the start button,
there is just a beep, the LED
is immediately turned o and
device won't work.
Did you add too much salt? If too much salt is used, or
not dissolved completely, the
device will not run for safety
reasons. Please rell with fresh
water, add the correct amount
of salt and stir thoroughly.
Spray doesn't work. Is the spray nozzle blocked?
Is the inner straw connected
properly?
Pull the trigger, hold for 5
seconds and release quickly.
Repeat 2-3 times. Make sure
the straw is connected properly
by pulling out and retting.
