Theinstructionsbelow(orsimilar)areintendedforrackmountinstallationenvironments:
1. ElevatedOperatingAmbientTemperature:ifinstalledinaclosedormulti‐unitrackassembly,theoperatingambient
temperatureoftherackenvironmentmayexceedroomambient.Installtheequipmentinanenvironment
compatiblewiththemaximumambienttemperature(Tma)specified.
2. ReducedAirFlow:installtheequipmentinaracksothattheamountofairflowrequiredforsafeoperationisnot
compromised.
3. MechanicalLoading:Mounttheequipmentintheracksothatahazardousconditiondoesnotoccurduetouneven
mechanicalloading(weightdistribution/rackbalance).
4. CircuitOverloading:giveconsiderationtotheconnectionoftheequipmenttothesupplycircuitandtheeffectthat
overloadingofthecircuitsmighthaveonovercurrentprotectionandsupplywiring.Considerallequipment
nameplateratingswhenaddressingthisconcern.
5. ReliableEarthing:maintainreliableearthingofrack‐mountedequipment;payparticularattentiontosupply
connectionsotherthandirectconnectionstothebranchcircuit(e.g.,useofpowerstrips).
