Se l’unità è priva dell’involucro protettivo originale è neces-
sario applicare una protezione stagna che eviti il deteriora-
mento degli alberi e dei componenti di gomma nel caso in
cui il tempo di installazione superi I 15 giorni.
Prima di installare I riduttori assicurarsi che:
 I dati riportati in targhetta corrispondano al prodotto che
è stato ordinato;
 Le superfici di accoppiamento e gli alberi siano accurata-
mente puliti e privi di ammaccature;
 Le superfici su cui verrà installato il riduttore siano per-
fettamente piane e sufficientemente rigide;
 L’albero macchina e quello del riduttore siano corretta-
mente allineati
 Siano stati installati sistemi di limitazione della coppia se
si prevedono urti o blocchi della macchina durante il fun-
zionamento;
 Siano state predisposte le necessarie protezioni antinfor-
tunistiche agli organi rotanti;
 Siano state create delle opportune coperture a protezi-
one dagli agenti atmosferici se l’installazione è effettuata
ed è soggetta alle intemperie;
 L’ambiente di lavoro non sia corrosivo ( a meno che tale
specifica non sia stata dichiarata in fase di ordine al fine
di predisporre il riduttore per questo utilizzo );
 Eventuali pignoni o pulegge montati sugli alberi di uscita
o entrata del riduttore siano calettati correttamente in
modo da non generare carichi radiali e/o assiali superi-
ori a quelli ammissibili.
 Su tutti gli accoppiamenti sia stato applicato un ade-
guato protettivo antiossidante per prevenire eventuali
ossidazioni da contatto.
 Tutte le viti di fissaggio siano state serrate corretta-
mente.
 Per il CMG052 e il CMG053 verificare la corretta quan-
tità di lubrificante in funzione della posizione di montag-
gio.
If the unit lacks its original factory shrink pack wrapping it is
necessary to apply a protective and waterproofing product
to avoid deterioration of shafts and rubber parts in case in-
stallation time exceeds 15 days.
When installing the gearbox always make sure that:
 The specifications stamped on the rating plate match
those indicated for the unit actually ordered;
 The mating surfaces and the shafts are thoroughly clean
and free of dents;
 The surfaces where the gearbox are to be mounted on
are flat and strong enough;
 The machine drive shaft and the gearbox shaft are per-
fectly aligned;
 The required torque limiters have been installed if the
machine is likely to produce shocks or blockages during
operations;
 The rotary parts have been provided with the required
safety guards;
 Adequate waterproof covering has been provided if the
machine is to be installed outside;
 The working environment is not exposed to corrosive
agents ( unless this has been indicated specifically in the
order so that the gearbox can be adequately set up );
 The pinions or pulleys on the gearbox input/output shafts
are properly fitted in order to not produce radial and/or
axial loads that exceed the maximum allowable limits;
 All the couplings have been treated with adequate rust
preventative in order to avoid oxidation caused by con-
tact;
 All the mounting screws have been securely tightened;
 Check the lubricant quantity depending on the mounting
position of helical gearboxes sizes 052 and 053.

Tutti i riduttori della serie CMG sono forniti complete di lubrifi-
cante sintetico viscosità 320 a lunga durata e non necessi-
tano di manutenzione. I riduttori dalla taglia 00 alla 04 pos-
sono essere installati in qualunque posizione di montaggio.
Campo di temperature standard:
 - 35°C — + 50°C dalla taglia 00 alla 05
 In caso di temperature ambiente < -35°C o > +50°C è ne-
cessario utilizzare guarnizioni e lubrificante speciali.
 In caso di temperature ambiente < -15 è necessario di-
mezzare i carichi radiali in uscita della taglia 05.
All unit sizes of our CMG range are supplied complete with
a long life synthetic lubricant, viscosity 320 and do not re-
quire maintenance. Units from size 00 to 04 can be in-
stalled in any mounting position.
Operating range:
 - 35°C — + 50°C for size 00 to 05
 In the case of ambient temperature < -35°C or > +50°C
is necessary to use special oil seals and lubricant.
 In the case of ambient temperature < -15°C is neces-
sary to halve the output radial loads of size 05.

Avviamento
La messa in funzione deve avvenire in modo graduale, evi-
tando di applicare immediatamente il carico massimo richie-
sto dalla macchina, per evitare e correggere eventuali ano-
malie presenti a causa di un’errata applicazione. Il rodaggio
non è condizione essenziale per un buon funzionamento del
riduttore, in quanto le moderne tecniche di costruzione degli
ingranaggi e delle fusioni, l’elevata pulizia degli organi interni
e le ottime caratteristiche dei lubrificanti impiegati garantisco-
no una sicura protezione dei componenti interni anche nelle
prime fasi di lavoro.
Manutenzione
L’elevato grado di finitura degli organi interni garantisce un
corretto funzionamento con una
minima manutenzione. In generale valgono le seguenti rego-
le: controllo periodico della pulizia esterna dei gruppi, soprat-
tutto nelle zone maggiormente interessate al raffreddamento;
controllo periodico delle eventuali perdite di lubrificante, so-
prattutto nelle zone degli anelli di tenuta.
Per i gruppi lubrificati a vita, privi di qualsiasi tappo per l’olio,
non è necessaria alcuna manutenzione straordinaria, salvo
quanto riportato ai punti precedenti.
Montaggio del motore sulla flangia
IEC B5/B14
Controllare che le tolleranze dell’albero e della flangia del
motore siano corrispondenti almeno ad una classe di qualità
“normale”. Pulire accuratamente l’albero, il piano ed il cen-
traggio della flangia da sporco o tracce di vernice. Non forza-
re l’albero motore nel cavo di entrata del riduttore. Nel caso
non sia possibile controllare la tolleranza della linguetta
sull’albero motore ed assicurarsi che sia alloggiata corretta-
mente nella sua sede. Applicare un velo di antiossidante in
modo da prevenire l’ossidazione da contatto. Utilizzare moto-
ri di buona qualità per garantire il corretto funzionamento e-
sente da vibrazioni o rumorosità. Prima di montare il riduttore
sulla macchina verificare che l’albero di uscita ruoti nel verso
giusto.
Starting up
The unit should be started up gradually: do not immediately
apply the maximum load the machine is able to take; look for
and correct any malfunction that may be caused by incorrect
mounting. Running-in is not essential for the reduction unit to
run properly since modern construction techniques for the
gears and castings, the extreme cleanliness of the internal
parts, and the excellent qualities of the lubricants used, gua-
rantee the proper mechanical functioning from the first opera-
tion.
Servicing
The high quality finish of the internal parts ensures that the
unit will work correctly with only a minimum amount of servi-
cing. Generally speaking, the following rules should be follo-
wed: periodically check that the exterior of the assembly is
clean, especially in the cooling areas; periodically check to
see if there are any leaks, especially in the areas around the
sealing. Units that are lubricated for life and thus do not have
any oil plugs do not require any special maintenance except
as stated above.
Mounting the motor on the IEC B5/
B14 flange
Check that the tolerance of the motor shaft and the motor
flange comply with at least one ‘normal’ class of quality. Ca-
refully clean off any trace of dirt or paint from the shaft, the
centering diameter and the face of the flange. Do not force
the electric motor shaft into the gearbox motor sleeve. If this
is not possible, check the tolerance of the motor key and en-
sure that it is correctly fitted. Apply antioxidative protection to
the shaft in order to prevent fretting corrosion. Good quality
motors should be used in order to ensure that the unit works
correctly, without vibrations or noise. Before mounting the
unit on the machine, check that the main shaft of the reduc-
tion unit rotates in the right direction.

Problemi durante il funzionamento
Se durante le fasi di avviamento o le prime ore di funziona-
mento sorgessero problemi di vario genere contattare il servi-
zio di assistenza post vendita presso Transtecno.
Nella tabella sono elencati una serie di problemi con la descri-
zione dei possibili rimedi. E’ comunque evidente che quanto
sotto descritto è puramente indicativo e viene riportato a titolo
informativo in quanto tutti i gruppi che escono dallo stabilimen-
to Transtecno sono collaudati e verificati.
E’ utile evidenziare che qualsiasi manomissione del gruppo
senza l’autorizzazione di Transtecno fa decadere la garanzia e
spesso rende ignote le cause che hanno determinato un difet-
to o un malfunzionamento.
Troubleshooting
If any problems should arise when starting the unit or
during its first few hours of operation, contact the after
sales service dept. of Transtecno. The table shows a se-
ries of problems with a description of possible solutions.
It should be kept in mind however that the information
given is for reference only, as all the drives manufactured
by Transtecno are thoroughly tested and checked before
they leave the factory.
Please note that tampering with the assembly without
prior authorization from Transtecno immediately invalida-
tes the warranty and often makes it impossible to ascer-
tain the causes of a defect or malfunction.
