Programming & User Instructions

Software Version A52
The following information reflects the programming instructions and
steps necessary to implement the Security System features of the
G1E Plus Hybrid IP Communication System.
Description of Operation– The G1E Plus System incorporates integrated security
capabilities as a standard feature in all systems. Sensors are used in the G1E Plus
for the purposes detecting changes in their status as it related to door or window
openings. There is one sensor standard and is located on the motherboard of the
G1E Plus System. There are also sensors located in both the Access Control Phone
as well as the Door Phone.
The sensors are generally programmed as normally closed and when a door is
opened an alarm condition is triggered. All telephone sets within the system will ring
for 30 seconds. LCD phones will show an alarm condition and also an indication of
which sensor/door has been opened while the system is armed.
After 30 seconds the system will begin to invoke an Emergency Call Alert to up to 5
outside telephone numbers in a cascading manner. The system will advance from
one number to the next until and response is received in the way of a manually
pressed * key or a polarity reversal answer supervision signal. Each number will ring
for a period of approximately 60 seconds before disconnecting and attempting the
next number. A special user recorded message is played to each telephone number
attempted.

Programming– PRG 2 Save (default)
1. Program The Sensors– Program 39-XX-YY
Where XX= Sensor/Station Number / YY = Item Number
After entering programming Press 39-00-01 Save
Note that 00 is for the sensor on the G1E Plus motherboard. If you require additional
sensors then enter the station number for either the Access Control Phone or the Door
Phone. Be sure to set the First position as 05 for Security Feature and the operation as
normally open or closed. For most applications the sensor will normally be closed.
2. Program Access Passwords– You need to program a password or passwords that
will enable the security alarm and also provide the ability to disable the alarm. There
are two options here. First, identify the station number of the ACP you will be using to
turn the alarm on and off from.
Enter Program 40-ACP-08 In this example we will use station 18 which is assigned to
an ACP.
Enter Program 40-18-08
The password for turning the alarm on and off from the ACP is defined in class of ser-
vice. Program 40 Item 08 is used as a pointer to Program 17 which is the Forced Ac-
count Code Table. If 40-18-08 is set to 00, then ANY valid password defined in the
Forced Account Code Table will be able to toggle the alarm on and off. However if you
set item 08 to a specific Forced Account code entry as shown in the above example
ONLY that account code can be used. In this case it is forced account code 23.

3. Forced Account Codes– As mentioned enter Program 17.
Press Save
Enter the account code that you want to be used to turn on and off the security alarm
from the ACP.
Digit "d" is keyed in by [DND/CN] button and means " Any digit " ("don't care").
Digit "_" is keyed in by [TRF/FL] button and means " No digit ".
Clear all digits by pressing [TRF/FL] to insert a line in place of the original entry.
Move Cursor Right– DSS 4 or VOL UP
Move Cursor Left– DSS 3 or VOL Down
The last two digits dd are for toll class selection – Day and Night. They have no bear-
ing on the ACP functionality.
First d: for Day time Toll Class.
Second d : for Night time Toll Class.
Do not use Redial to clear forced account code / password entries as this will insert
"don't care" which will allow any digit to be used as a password.
Note that if you enter 1234 as the password you will need to dial 1234 #. The # sign is
a delimiter entry for passwords less than the full 8 characters.
4. Program Security Key on Telephone Set– In Program 07 set the DSS key you
would like to use to turn on and off the Security Alarm to FN: 61 from a Digital Keyset.
Helpful Hint- LED RED Steady– The Security Alarm is activated
LED Off– The Security System is not activated

5. Program Emergency Call Alert Telephone Numbers– There are 5 speed dial
locations that are used for dial out telephone numbers when the security alarm takes
place. These speed dial locations are 100 through 104 and are found in Program 09.
You may enter the same telephone number more than once if desired and you want
to be notified multiple times. If you have a monitoring station or a local police depart-
ment telephone number it is suggested that you advise them in advance of what your
Emergency Call Alert Message states and what they should do to respond.
6. Program Non Emergency Call Telephone Number– Speed dial location 105 of-
fers an external number to be called when the system is in the alarm mode and
someone presses the CALL button on the ACP. It is possible for the system to dial an
outside number and allow the dialled party the ability to connect with the ACP and
conduct a conversation and then terminate the telephone call. Leave blank if you do
not want an external telephone number to be dialled when the call button is pressed
and the alarm is active.
Speed Dial Number Notes– While in Program 09 Speed Dial, the MIC/AT Key tog-
gles between the speed dial number, trunk number and speed dial name. In default
the speed dial numbers will access an available line within the trunk group. This can
be identified by TK:00 in the upper right hand corner of the display. If you want to
change it to a specific line press MIC/AT and enter the specific trunk number.
7. Record the Emergency Call Alert Message– Take a moment to think about what
your Emergency Call Alert Message will be and who the recipient will be. It is sug-
gested that you limit the message to around 20 seconds or less so the message can
be repeated during the approximately 1 minute it is played. It is necessary that you
instruct the called party to Press * at the end of your message. This action will stop
the alarm and reset it and will discontinue further notification.
An example may be. This is an Emergency Security Alert for TransTel Communica-
tions. Please send an officer to 1562 Park Lane South Suite 400 as soon as possible.
Press * to confirm you received this message.

cation that you need to check your doors or windows and be sure they are secured
