U336-1G-SFP:
• Establishes a fiber optic Ethernet connection via the USB-A port on your
laptop, tablet or computer
• Features an open SFP port to connect a user-provided LC SFP transceiver
• Extends 1310 nm LC singlemode transmissions up to 5 kilometers or
1310 nm LC multimode transmissions up to 500 meters from your fiber
network without compromising speed or reliability

• Supports USB 3.0 speeds up to 5 Gbps
U436-1G-SFP:
• Establishes a fiber optic Ethernet connection via the USB-C™ port on
your laptop, tablet or computer
• Features an open SFP port to connect a user-provided LC SFP transceiver
• Extends 1310 nm LC singlemode transmissions up to 5 kilometers or
1310 nm LC Multimode transmissions up to 500 meters from your
fiber network without compromising speed or reliability
• Bus-powered via the USB-C port, so no external power is required
• Supports USB Type C speeds up to 5 Gbps
U436-SMF-1G-LC:
• Establishes a fiber optic Ethernet connection via the USB-C port on your
laptop, tablet or computer
• Built-in 1310 nm LC singlemode transceiver can be used to connect
to a fiber network at distances up to 5 kilometers
• Bus-powered via the USB-C port, so no external power is required
• Supports USB Type C speeds up to 5 Gbps

Note: Before installation, verify your fiber equipment’s wavelength
(1310 nm), mode type (single or multi) and distance (in meters)
matches that of the USB Fiber Transceiver Adapter specifications.
1. Install the applicable driver on your computer or laptop before
connecting the USB fiber transceiver adapter. The driver can be installed
using the included CD or by visiting the model’s Technical Support page
on tripplite.com to download.
2. Once the appropriate driver is successfully installed, connect a user-
supplied LC transceiver that is connected to a fiber network to the open
SFP port on the adapter. If using the U436-SMF-1G-LC, the transceiver
is already built into the unit and a separate transceiver is not needed.
3. If using the U336-1G-SFP, insert the USB-A male connector to a USB-A
port on your computer.
OR
If using the U436-1G-SFP or U436-SMF-1G-LC, insert the USB-C male
connector to the USB-C port on your computer.
4. A blue LED will illuminate to indicate a successful Ethernet connection.
The LED will blink when data is being transferred.

3-Year Limited Warranty
TRIPP LITE warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the
date of initial purchase. TRIPP LITE’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing (at its sole option) any such
defective products. To obtain service under this warranty, you must obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number from
TRIPP LITE or an authorized TRIPP LITE service center. Products must be returned to TRIPP LITE or an authorized TRIPP LITE service
center with transportation charges prepaid and must be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered and proof
of date and place of purchase. This warranty does not apply to equipment which has been damaged by accident, negligence or
misapplication or has been altered or modified in any way.
EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, TRIPP LITE MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Some states do not permit limitation or exclusion of implied
warranties; therefore, the aforesaid limitation(s) or exclusion(s) may not apply to the purchaser.
EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, IN NO EVENT WILL TRIPP LITE BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH
DAMAGE. Specifically, TRIPP LITE is not liable for any costs, such as lost profits or revenue, loss of equipment, loss of use of
equipment, loss of software, loss of data, costs of substitutes, claims by third parties, or otherwise.
