General safety

or knowledge.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded)

power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Work area safety

a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite

accidents

b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in

the presence of ﬂammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create

sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.

Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical safety

a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in

any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded)

power tools. Unmodiﬁed plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of

electric shock.

b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as

pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of

electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a

power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or

unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp

edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk

of electric shock.

e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord

suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces

the risk of electric shock.

f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a

residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces

the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when

operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired

or under the inﬂuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of

inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal

injury.

b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.

Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard

hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce

personal injuries.

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-

position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack,

picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your ﬁnger

on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites

accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool

on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool

may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This

enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your

hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes,

jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and

collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.

Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

Power Tool Use & Care

a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your

application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the

rate for which it was designed.

b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.

Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous

and must be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack

from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing

accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures

reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow

persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to

operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of

untrained users.

e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving

parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the

power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired

before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power

tools.

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools

with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with

these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and

the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different

from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

Battery tools use and care

a) Recharge only with charger speciﬁed by the manufacturer. A charger

that is sutiable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of ﬁre when

used with another battery pack.

b) Use power tools only with speciﬁcally designated battery packs.

Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and ﬁre

c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal

objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small

metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to

another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause a burns or a

ﬁre.

Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery;

avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, ﬂush with water. If

liquid contact eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected

from the battery may cause irritation or burns

WARNING: When used in Australia or New Zealand, it is recommended that

this tool is ALWAYS supplied via Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rated

residual current of 30mA or less.

Service

a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualiﬁed repair person using

only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the

power tool is maintained.

operated screwdrivers

For safety relating to protective clothing/equipment and general health hazards

relating to power tools; refer to General and Electrical Safety sections in this

manual

Important: It is imperative to follow all national safety regulations concerning

installation, operation and maintenance

• Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an

operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring.

Cutting accessory and/or fasteners contacting a “live” wire may make

exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and give the operator an

electric shock. Do not allow anyone under the age of 18 years to use this

tool, and ensure that operators are qualiﬁed and familiar with the operating

and safety instructions

• If batteries are to be charged outdoors, ensure that the power supply and

charger are protected against weather/moisture

• When using the drill, use safety equipment including safety glasses or

shield, ear defenders, and protective clothing including safety gloves. Wear

a dust mask if the drilling operation creates dust

• Use metal and voltage detectors to locate concealed electric, water or gas

lines. Avoid touching live components or conductors

• Ensure that the lighting is adequate

• Ensure that the drill bit is securely ﬁxed in the chuck. Insecure drill bits can

be ejected from the machine causing a hazard

• Ensure that the drill bit is in contact with the workpiece prior to starting up

the tool

• Before drilling, check that there is sufﬁcient clearance for the drill bit under

the workpiece

• Do not put pressure on the tool, to do so would shorten its service life

• Drill bits get hot during operation, allow to cool prior to handling them

• Never use your hands to remove sawdust, chips or waste close by the bit

• If you are interrupted when operating the drill, complete the process and

switch off before looking up

• Where possible, use clamps or a vice to hold your work

• Examine the chuck regularly for signs of wear or damage. Have damaged

parts repaired by a qualiﬁed service centre

• Always wait until the drill has come to a complete stop before putting it

down

• Periodically check all nuts, bolts and other ﬁxings and tighten where

necessary

Battery charger safety

Use the battery charger correctly

• Refer to the section of this manual relating to use of the battery charger

before attempting to charge the battery.

• Do not attempt to use the charger with any batteries other than those

supplied. Keep your battery charger clean; foreign objects or dirt may

cause a short or block air vents. Failure to follow these instructions may

cause overheating or ﬁre

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its

service agent or similarly qualiﬁed persons in order to avoid a hazard

• Examine the battery charger regularly for damage, especially the cord, plug

and enclosure. If the battery charger is damaged, it must not be used until

it has been repaired

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the

appliance

Warning: Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries

Use batteries correctly

• Only charge batteries using the charger provided. Only use batteries

provided with this power tool, or others recommended by the supplier.

Keep batteries clean; foreign objects or dirt may cause a short. Allow

batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or heavy use. Failure to

follow these instructions may cause overheating or ﬁre.

• When not in use batteries should be stored at room temperature (approx.

Battery and charger safety features

The battery and charger are ﬁtted with a number of safety features which may

be triggered during charging or operation:

• Over-charge protection: Charger automatically switches off when

the battery has reached full charge capacity, protecting the internal

components of the battery

• Over-discharge protection: Prevents the battery from discharging beyond

the recommended lowest safety voltage

• Over-heat protection: Sensor switches off if the battery becomes too

hot during operation. This can happen if the tool is overloaded or being

used for extended periods of time. Up to 30 minutes cooling time may be

required depending on the ambient temperature

• Overload protection: Battery temporarily stops if it is overloaded or the

maximum current draw is exceeded, protecting the internal components.

The battery will resume normal operation when the current draw returns to

a normal safe level. This may take a few seconds

• Short circuit protection: The battery will stop working immediately if a short

circuit occurs, this prevents damage to the battery or tool

Intended use

• The Triton T12AD is a versatile angle drill for accessing recessed and

awkwardly located screw heads, fasteners or drilling locations. This drill

is optimally conﬁgured for screw-driving applications. It is not intended

to be used with attachments that are purposely designed for high-torque

impact drivers or high-current mains-operated drills. These attachments

may include holesaws, core drills or attachments designed for automotive

use. Do not modify this tool to enable it to be used for purposes it is not

designed for. If these instructions are followed and the tool is not abused

or misused, it should provide many years of service.

Unpacking your tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its

features and functions

• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any

parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting

to use this tool

Before use

• The supplied battery pack has been shipped in a low-charge condition.

Charge the battery pack before use

Battery charger operation

• The battery charger and battery pack may become warm while charging.

This is normal and does not indicate a problem

• Use the battery charger at normal room temperatures whenever possible.

To prevent overheating, do not cover the

• battery charger and do not charge the battery in direct sunlight or near

sources of heat

If the battery pack does not charge properly:

• Check current at power outlet by plugging in a lamp or other appliance

• If charging problems persist, have the Angle Drill, Battery and Battery

Charger checked by an electrician or a power tool technician

Charging a battery

1. Depress the Battery Release Grips (3) and remove the Battery Pack (4)

from the tool

2. Insert the Battery Pack into the Battery Charger (9). Do not use excessive

force when inserting the Battery Pack. If it does not slide into place easily,

it is not being inserted correctly

3. Initially only the green LED may ﬂash as it evaluates the status of the

Battery Pack. When charging the red LED will illuminate and the green LED

will be OFF

4. When the Battery Pack is fully charged the red LED will be OFF and the

green LED will illuminate

5. The Battery Charger will constantly monitor the condition of the Battery

when charging

6. Remove the Battery Pack as soon as possible when completely charged

7. Disconnect the Battery Charger from the power supply and store in a clean,

dry environment out of the reach of children

• Normal battery charging time is approximately 1 hour for a recently fully

discharged battery at normal temperature. Charging times will vary outside

these conditions

• You do not need to fully discharge the Battery Pack before recharging but

you should not attempt to recharge a Battery that is already fully charged

• You can interrupt charging at any point to use the Battery Pack. Under

normal conditions the Battery Charger charges at a higher rate but reduces

the charging rate as the Battery Pack becomes fully charged. An 80%

charge is achieved after 1/2hr of charging

3.0Ah High Capacity Battery pack (optional accessory)

• A high capacity Battery Pack is available that provides double the capacity.

It also allows the angle drill to stand vertically which may be advantageous

for some uses. Please note the full charging time will be approximately 2

hours for the high capacity battery

Note: If the lights on the Battery Charger fail to illuminate according to the

chart above or indicate a fault condition:

• Check the Battery Pack is ﬁrmly seated in the Battery Charger

• Check all connections and that mains power is switched on

Initial charge

• The initial charge will vary depending on the existing charge in the Battery.

Allow the Battery to reach full charge as indicated on the Battery Charger

• After discharging, recharge the Battery Pack completely, as indicated by

the LED on the Battery Charger, for the next 4 to 5 uses. This will ensure

that the Battery Pack is performing to its highest capacity

• Subsequent full charges will take approximately 1 hour, however

the Battery can be recharged when the Battery Pack is only partially

discharged

Re-charging the battery pack

• After use, a li-ion battery must be allowed to cool down before charging

• If a hot battery is inserted into the charger both LEDs will illuminate.

The Battery Charger will begin to charge when the Battery has cooled

sufﬁciently (this may take several minutes)

Installing the battery pack

• The Battery Pack should ﬁt easily into the Battery Charger. If the Battery is

difﬁcult to ﬁt, check the condition of the Battery and contacts

Battery pack- length of service

• The length of service from each charging cycle will depend on the type of

workload. The Battery Charger and Battery Pack for this drill have been

designed to provide a long trouble-free working life. The Battery Charger

intelligently monitors the condition of the Battery and selects the ideal

charging rate for the condition of the Battery. It protects the Battery from

over-charging or charging at too high a rate. However, like all batteries,

performance will be reduced over time

To maximise battery life:

• Store and charge the Battery in a cool area. Temperatures above or below

normal room temperature will reduce battery life

• Never store li-ion batteries in a discharged condition. Recharge them

immediately after they are discharged. For storing long term, store fully

charged

• All batteries gradually lose their charge, even li-ion batteries, but the

discharge rate is very low. If the drill is stored for long periods of

time without use, recharge the battery every three to four months and

disconnect the battery from the power tool before it is stored. This practice

will prevent the li-ion battery being damaged when stored

Fitting drill bits and accessories

WARNING: Always remove the Battery Pack from the drill before attaching,

adjusting or removing accessories.

WARNING: Do not attempt to tighten drill bits (or any other accessory) by

gripping the front part of the Chuck (8) and switching the tool on. This can lead

to personal injury and can cause damage to the Chuck.

WARNING: Never ﬁt any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the

no-load speed of the machine.

1. Open the Chuck Jaws (7) by rotating the Chuck (8) anti-clockwise (with the

Chuck facing the operator)

2. Place the drill bit or accessory into the Chuck correctly centralised

3. Tighten the Chuck Jaws by rotating the Chuck clockwise

4. When the drill bit or accessory is securely fastened, carefully run the

machine to test that it is running centrally, smoothly and evenly. If the bit is

‘wobbling’ or not running centrally, release the Chuck, check the accessory

for damage, correct its position, retighten and test again

Operation

Direction control

WARNING: NEVER change the direction of rotation while the tool is running.

• The direction of rotation can be set using the Forward/Reverse Switch (2)

• For anti-clockwise rotation, holding the drill in a normal operating position,

push the switch to the right

• For clockwise rotation, push the switch to the left

Note: When the Forward/Reverse Switch is in the central position, the drill

is locked and cannot be switched on. Use this setting as a safety feature to

prevent the drill from being switched on accidentally.

Switching on/off

WARNING: Always wear adequate personal protection equipment when setting

up and operating this machine.

1. To start the drill, squeeze the Trigger (5)

Note: If the Trigger cannot be pressed down, check that the Forward/Reverse

Switch (2) is not set to its middle position, which locks the device (see

“Direction control”).

2. The speed of the drill is controlled by the movement of the Trigger: the

further the Trigger is pressed down, the faster the drill will run

3. Release the Trigger to stop the machine

Note: The built-in Work Light (6) will illuminate the work area each time the

trigger is pressed.

Screwdriver use

Note: Use a universal bit holder when working with screwdriver bits. Only

mount screwdriver bits directly into the Chuck (8) if it is essential to access a

screw head. Use a bit holder at all other times.

1. Use a screwdriver bit that matches the size of the screw head

2. Apply controlled hand pressure to the drill body when driving screws into

the workpiece or removing screws so the screwdriver bit does not slip off

the screw head. It is advisable to practise this so the operator understands

the correct level of pressure required to keep the bit successfully in the

screw head

3. Applying more pressure to the Trigger (5) will increase the rotation speed.

This must be done under control to maintain the screwdriver bit in the

screw head. The screw head and screwdriver bit can be damaged if the

drill is run too fast

• If the screw is short or has a coarse thread, drive screws in slowly and be

ready to release the Trigger when the screw is fully inserted

• If the screw is long or with a ﬁne thread, drive screws in fast most of the

way then switch to a slow speed when close to full insertion

• Use a faster speed that allows for controlled action when removing screws

• Do not continue to hold the Trigger down after a screw has been fully

inserted. Be ready to release the Trigger to prevent damage to the screw

head and screwdriver bit. This will also prevent the motor from stalling.

• If the motor does stall, the drill’s over-current or over-temperature

protection will operate, preventing use of the tool for a few minutes.This is

normal and not a fault with the drill

• Conﬁgure the tool in a way suitable for its intended use before operating.

The drill may need an extended length bit holder for recessed or awkward

locations

• Always ensure that the Trigger can be operated easily and is not restricted

by being too close to a surface

• Always hold the drill with two hands where possible, especially when more

pressure on the body of the drill is required to keep the screwdriver bit in

the screw head

• If the built-in Work Light (6) does not provide sufﬁcient light or if the light is

blocked, use additional lighting to ensure the work area is always well lit

• Do not cover the Motor Vents (1) with your hands while operating the tool

• Practise using the drill to minimise damage to workpieces, screw heads

and screwdriver bits

Driving Nuts and Bolts

Removing: Loosen the nut or bolt with a wrench, then use the angle drill with

a drive adaptor and socket to remove

Fitting: Use the angle drill to drive the nut or bolt close to where it needs to be

tightened then tighten with a wrench

WARNING: Attempting to use the drill for very high torque requirements of

loosening or tightening a nut or bolt will damage it

WARNING: When using the angle drill in an engine bay or similar environment

ensure the tool is not damaged by hot parts or liquids that may enter the Motor

Vents (1). If there is a risk that removing a bolt or nut will release liquid, stop

operating the drill before the bolt or nut can be removed and complete the

unscrewing and removing by hand

Drilling

WARNING: There are Motor Vents (1) on both sides of the drill as well as

additional minor vents. These allow heat from the motor to escape the body

of the tool and must not become blocked in use. If blocked, the angle drill

may shut down while the over-temperature protection operates. Due to their

design and use in conﬁned areas, angle drills can be more exposed to dust,

wood chippings and swarf which can cause damage if they block or enter the

motor vents.

There is an additional risk of permanent damage if swarf, created when drilling

metal, enters the drill.

Always clean the area where drilling is taking place, especially conﬁned areas.

Use a vacuum to clean up dust, wood chippings and swarf.

Drilling wood

WARNING: DO NOT inhale wood dust. Wear adequate breathing protection.

Some wood dusts may be toxic.

• Ensure that drill bits are suitable for wood, and are within the maximum

capacity of this drill (see “Speciﬁcations”)

• There are many types of drill bit suitable for wood. Make sure you use the

right type for your intended task

• After drilling use a countersink drill bit if you intend to use ﬂat-headed

screws. Do not just drive the head of screw under the surface which can

damage the wood

• To prevent splitting of the wood on the reverse side when drilling

completely through a piece of wood, clamp a piece of scrap wood over the

area where the drill bit will exit

• In conﬁned areas start with a smaller pilot drill and then use the correct

size drill bit

• In areas with poor visibility, use a drill stop fastened to the drill bit to reach

the required depth

• Researching information about the properties and grain of natural woods

and wood-based composite materials can help to achieve better results

when drilling. Such information is beyond the scope of this manual

Troubleshooting

Drilling metal

• Ensure that drill bits are suitable for the grade of metal and are within the

maximum capacity of the machine (see “Speciﬁcations”)

• Mark the intended hole position using a hammer and centre punch to

ensure accuracy

WARNING: The drill bit and the workpiece will become very hot when drilling

metal. DO NOT touch the bit and never allow it to come into contact with

combustible materials when hot. Always use a suitable lubricant or cutting

ﬂuid, and drill at appropriate speeds.

• Apply only moderate pressure to the drill bit, ensuring efﬁcient cutting and

prolonged drill bit life

• Use a countersink bit to remove sharp burrs from the hole, preventing cuts

and other kinds of injury

• While drilling ensure swarf material does not enter the Motor Vents (1) of

the drill

• A range of T12 accessories, including T12B 1.5Ah battery pack, T12HCB

3Ah battery pack and T12BC battery charger are available from your

• This tool is manufactured using class leading components and makes

Cleaning

• Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts

to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of

your machine with a soft brush or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry,

compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes

Storage

• Store this tool and its accessories after use in its case, in a dry, secure

place out of the reach of children

Disposal

Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are

no longer functional and are not viable for repair.

• Do not dispose of power tools, batteries or other waste electrical and

electronic equipment (WEEE), with household waste

• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct

WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij

Algemene veiligheid voor

elektrisch gereedschap

WAARSCHUWING: Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften.

Het niet opvolgen van alle voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan

resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.

WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen

met een verminderde mentale of fysieke bekwaamheid of een gebrek aan

ervaring.

Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.

De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen

heeft betrekking op uw elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is

aangesloten (met een snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).

Veiligheid in de werkruimte

a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting.

Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot ongelukken.

b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen,

bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid van ontvlambare vloeistoffen,

gassen of stof. Elektrisch gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of

dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.

c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch

gereedschap bedient. Door aﬂeiding kunt u de controle over het

gereedschap verliezen.

Elektrische veiligheid

a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het

stopcontact. Pas de stekker niet aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers

bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde

stekkers en passende stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een

elektrische schok.

b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen,

radiatoren, fornuizen en koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische

schok neemt toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.

c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch

gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.

d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch

gereedschap te dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het

stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie,

scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigd of in de knoop

geraakt snoeren verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.

e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan

gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik

buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik

buitenshuis om het risico op een elektrische schok te verminderen.

f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken

in een vochtige omgeving, gebruik dan een energiebron met een

aardlek beveiliging (Residual Currency Device). Het gebruik van een

RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.

Persoonlijke veiligheid

a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch

gereedschap bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch gereedschap niet

wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol

of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch

gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.

b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een

veiligheidsbril. Passende bescherming voor de omstandigheden,

zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende veiligheidsschoenen een helm of

gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.

c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart.

Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand staat voordat u

de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het dragen van elektrisch

gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten op de

stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan

tot ongelukken leiden.

d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische

gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of stelsleutel die zich op een

draaiend onderdeel van het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden

tot letsel.

e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer

controle over het elektrische gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.

f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of

sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van

bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende

haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.

g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden

meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze.

Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stof gerelateerde

ongelukken verminderen.

Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap

a) Laad de accu enkel met de bijgeleverde oplader op. Een oplader,

geschikt voor de ene accu, creëert mogelijk een brandgevaar wanneer

gebruikt met een andere accu

b) Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap enkel met speciﬁek bestemde

accu’s. Het gebruik van andere accu’s resulteert mogelijk in brand en

serieus persoonlijk letsel

c) Wanneer een accu niet gebruik is, houdt u deze uit de buurt van

metalen objecten als paperclips, munten, sleutels, spijkers, etc., die

de polen met elkaar kunnen verbinden. Het kortsluiten van de accu

resulteert mogelijk in brand

d) Bij misbruik lekt vloeistof mogelijk uit de accu ; voorkom contact.

Wanneer u de vloeistof per ongeluk aanraakt, spoelt u onmiddellijk

met water. Wanneer de vloeistof in de ogen terecht komt tracht u

medische hulp. Accuvloeistof veroorzaakt mogelijk brandplekken en

irritatie

WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Australië of Nieuw-Zeeland

gebruikt wordt, met een lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van een

aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen

Onderhoud

a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een

gekwaliﬁceerde vakman en gebruik alleen identieke

vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van het

elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.

Accuschroefmachine veiligheid

Voor de veiligheid met betrekking tot beschermende kleding en algemene

gezondheidsgevaren verwijst u naar ‘Algemene elektrische veiligheid’ boven

in de handleiding

Belangrijk: Het is noodzakelijk alle nationale veiligheidsregels met betrekking

tot installatie, gebruik en onderhoud op te volgen

• Houdt elektrische machine te allen tijde bij de geïsoleerde grip vast. Wanneer

accessoires in contact komen met stroomdraden, komen de metalen

onderdelen van de machine mogelijk onder stroom te staan wat kan

resulteren in elektrische schok

• Laat personen jonger dan 18 jaar de boorhamer niet gebruiken. Tevens

horen alle gebruikers met de gebruik- en veiligheidsinstructies bekend

te zijn

• Wanneer de accu buiten opgeladen wordt hoort deze, samen met de

stroombron, beschermd te zijn tegen weer/vocht

• Bij het gebruik van de boorhamer is de volgende veiligheidsuitrusting

verplicht: veiligheidsbril, gehoorbescherming, handschoenen en wanneer

het boren stof produceert draagt u een stofmasker

• Gebruik metaal- en spanningszoekers voor het vinden van verborgen

water- , gas- en/of elektrische leidingen. Vermijdt het contact met

componenten die onder spanning staan

• Zorg voor een goede verlichting

• Zorg ervoor dat beitel of boor bits stevig in de boorhouder vast zitten. Losse

bits kunnen losschieten en ongelukken veroorzaken

• Breng het bit in contact met het werkstuk voordat u de machine start

• Controleer voordat u begint met boren of er genoeg vrije ruimte is onder

het werkstuk

• Oefen geen druk op de boorhamer uit waar dit de levensduur verslechterd

• Boor bits worden tijdens gebruik erg heet. Laat ze na gebruik afkoelen.

• Verwijder zaagsel of vuil dicht bij het boor bit niet met uw handen

• Wanneer u tijdens het gebruik van de boorhamer gestoord wordt, maakt u

het werk af en schakelt u de machine uit voordat u opkijkt

• Maak wanneer mogelijk gebruik van klemmen of bankschroeven voor het

vastzetten van het werkstuk

• Controleer de boorhouder regelmatig op tekenen van slijtage en/of schade.

Beschadigde onderdelen horen door een gekwaliﬁceerd persoon vervangen

te worden

• Wacht met het neerleggen van de boor totdat deze volledig tot stilstand

is gekomen

• Controleer bouten, moeren en andere bevestigingsmiddelen regelmatig en

draai deze wanneer nodig vast

• Bij het uitvoeren van een taak waarbij het accessoire in contact kan

komen met verborgen stroomdraden, houdt u elektrische machines bij de

geïsoleerde handvaten vast. Wanneer het accessoire in contact komt met

een stroomdraad komen metalen onderdelen van de machine mogelijk

onder stroom te staan, wat mogelijk resulteert in elektrische schok

Acculader veiligheid

Juist gebruik van de oplader

• Raadpleeg het deel in deze handleiding wat betrekking heeft op het

gebruik van de oplader, voor het opladen van de accu.

• Gebruik de oplader niet in combinatie met een accu, anders dan die

verstrekt bij de machine. Houd de oplader schoon; stof en/of vuil kan

leiden tot kortsluiting en een geblokkeerde ventilatie wat kan resulteren in

oververhitting en/of brand

• Wanneer het stroomsnoer beschadigt is, laat u deze door de fabrikant

vervangen om gevaren te voorkomen

• Controleer de oplader regelmatig op schade, vooral het stroomsnoer en de

stekker. Wanneer de oplader beschadigd is dient u deze te repareren voor

verder gebruik

Waarschuwing: Herlaad geen niet-oplaadbare accu’s

Juist gebruik van de accu

• Laad de accu alleen op met de oplader verstrekt bij de machine. Gebruik

enkel de bijgeleverde accu, of accu’s aangeraden door de leverancier. Houd

uw accu schoon; stof en/of vuil kan leiden tot kortsluiting. Laat de accu,

na het opladen of na lang gebruik, 15 minuten afkoelen. Het falen van het

opvolgen van deze instructies kan leiden tot oververhitting en/of brand.

• Wanneer accu’s niet in gebruik zijn bergt u deze op een droge plek, met

een kamertemperatuur van ± 20 ˚C op. Zorg ervoor dat de accu’s, wanneer

opgeborgen, niet kunnen zorgen voor een kortsluiting.

WAARSCHUWING: Li-ion batterijen, wanneer onjuist gebruikt, opgeborgen of

opgeladen, zijn een brand- en explosiegevaar

• Houdt de accu uit de buurt van kinderen

• Laad Li-ion accu’s enkel op met de oplader, inbegrepen bij het product of

speciaal ontworpen voor uw product

• Gebruik enkel Li-ion accu’s inbegrepen bij uw product of speciaal

ontworpen voor compatibiliteit

• Laat accu’s na het opladen of na zwaar gebruik 15 minuten afkoelen om

oververhitting en brand te voorkomen

• Wanneer niet in gebruik dienen accu’s op kamertemperatuur (ongeveer

20°C) opgeborgen te worden

• Zorg ervoor dat de accu, wanneer opgeborgen, geen kortsluiting kan

veroorzaken. Houdt accu’s schoon; vreemde voorwerpen kunnen

kortsluiting veroorzaken. Houdt accu’s uit de buurt van metalen

voorwerpen als paperclips, muntjes, sleutels, etc.

• Bij verkeerd gebruik kan vloeistof uit de accu lekken. De vloeistof

veroorzaakt mogelijk huidirritatie brandwonden. Wanneer de vloeistof

in contact komt met de huid spoelt u uw huid onmiddellijk met water.

Wanneer de vloeistof in de ogen terecht komt zoekt u onmiddellijk

medische hulp

• Open, demonteer, breek, verwarm (boven 60°C) en verbrand accu’s niet.

Gooi accu’s niet in het vuur

Accu en oplader veiligheidskenmerken

De accu en de oplader zijn voorzien van een aantal veiligheidskenmerken

welke tijdens opladen of gebruik getriggerd kunnen worden

• Overlading bescherming: De oplader schakelt automatisch uit wanneer

de accu volledig is opgeladen om zo de interne delen van de accu te

beschermen tegen beschadigen

• Ontlading bescherming: Beschermt de accu tegen ontlading verder dan het

aangeraden laagste spanningspunt

• Oververhittingsbescherming: Een ingebouwde sensor schakelt de machine

uit wanneer de accu te heet wordt. Dit kan gebeuren wanneer de belasting

te groot is en wanneer de machine voor langere periode gebruikt wordt.

Afhankelijk van de temperatuur heeft de accu mogelijk een koelperiode van

30 minuten nodig.

• Overbelasting bescherming: De accu stopt tijdelijk wanneer deze wordt

overbelast of wanneer de maximale spanning wordt overschreden om zo

de interne onderdelen te beschermen tegen beschadiging. De accu zal de

werking hervatten wanneer de spanning terug op een veilig niveau komt.

Dit duurt mogelijk een aantal seconden.

• Kortsluiting bescherming: De accu stopt onmiddellijk wanneer kortsluiting

plaats vindt. Dit voorkomt beschadiging aan de accu en de machine.

WAARSCHUWIN voor Australië en Nieuw-Zeeland

WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Australië of Nieuw-Zeeland

gebruikt wordt, met een lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van een

aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen

Gebruiksdoel

• De Triton T12AD is een veelzijdige hoekboormachine, voor het gebruik

op onhandig geplaatste schroefkoppen, bevestigingsmiddelen

en boorplaatsen. De machine is optimaal geconﬁgureerd voor

schroefapplicaties. Gebruik de machine niet met accessoires als

gatenzagen en kernboren, die ontworpen zijn voor schroefapplicaties

met hoge koppel. Pas de machine niet aan voor doeleinden waarvoor de

machine niet bestemd is. Wanneer de instructies opgevolgd worden en de

machine niet misbruikt wordt, voorziet deze vele jaren gebruiksplezier.

Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap

• Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg dat u met alle

kenmerken en functies vertrouwd raakt

• Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede staat verkeren. Als

er onderdelen ontbreken of beschadigd zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen

worden voor u dit toestel / gereedschap gebruikt

Voor gebruik

• De machine wordt verscheept met laag geladen accu’s. Laad de accu’s

voor gebruik volledig op

Oplaad operatie

• De accu en oplader worden tijdens het opladen mogelijk warm. Dit is

normaal en duidt niet op problemen

• Gebruik de oplader op normale kamertemperaturen. Om oververhitting te

voorkomen bedekt u de oplader niet en houdt u de oplader buiten direct

zonlicht

Wanneer de accu niet normaal laadt:

• Controleer de spanning van het stopcontact door het aansluiten van

bijvoorbeeld een lamp

• Wanneer het probleem aanhoudt, laat u de schroefmachine door een

elektricien of technici nakijken

Het opladen van een accu

1. Druk de accu verlosschakels (3) in en haal de accu (4) van de

schroefmachine

2. Plaats de accu in de oplader (9). Deze horen soepel samen te klikken

3. Het groene lampje brand mogelijk om zo het laadniveau weer te geven.

Tijdens het opladen brand het rode lampje en dooft het groene lampje.

• De normale oplaadtijd van een accu op normale temperatuur is ongeveer 1

uur. Oplaadtijden verschillen

• Het is niet nodig de accu volledig te ontladen voordat deze opgeladen kan

worden. Een volle accu hoort niet verder geladen te worden

• Het laden van de accu kan op elk moment onderbroken worden. Aan het

eind van de laadcyclus laadt de accu minder snel op. Een 80% laadniveau

wordt in ongeveer een half uur bereikt

3,0 Ah hi-cap accu (optioneel accessoire)

Een hi-cap accu met het dubbele vermogen is verkrijgbaar. Deze accu dient

tevens als standaard voor de hoekboormachine. De volledige laadtijd van deze

accu bedraagt ongeveer 120 min.

LET OP: Wanneer de lichtjes op de oplader onjuist functioneren als hierboven

beschreven:

• Controleer of de accu juist in de oplader is geplaatst

• Controleer alle aansluiten

Aanvankelijk opladen

• De aanvankelijke oplaadtijd varieert afhankelijk van het laadniveau van de

accu. Laad de accu volledig op

• Voor de eerste 4-5 maal ontlaadt u de accu volledig voordat u deze

oplaadt. Dit maximaliseert de accuprestatie

• Opvolgende ladingen duren ongeveer 1 uur

Het herladen van de accu

• Een li-ion accu heeft na gebruik tijd nodig om af te koelen voor deze

opgeladen kan worden Wanneer een hete accu op de oplader geplaatst

wordt zullen beide lichtjes branden. Wanneer de oplader is afgekoeld laadt

de accu op (dit kan enkele minuten duren)

Het installeren van de accu

• De accu hoort gemakkelijk in de oplader te klikken. Zo niet controleert u de

accu en de aansluiting

Accu gebruiksduur

• De gebruiksduur van de accu na elke laadcyclus hangt af van de werklast.

Deze accu en oplader zijn ontworpen voor het geven van maximale,

probleemloze levensduur. De oplader houdt de status van de accu constant

in de gaten en selecteert de optimale ladingssnelheid. De accu wordt

beschermd tegen overlading. Zoals elke andere accu zal ook deze accu

uiteindelijk verslijten

Het maximaliseren van de levensduur

• Laad en berg uw accu in een koele ruimte op. Temperaturen boven

normale kamertemperatuur reduceren de levensduur van de accu

• Berg de accu nooit op wanneer deze volledig ontladen is. Laad accu’s

wanneer volledig ontladen gelijk weer op

• Alle accu’s verliezen geleidelijk hun lading. Hoe hoger de opberg

temperatuur des te sneller ontladen accu’s. Wanneer uw schroef voor

langere tijd opgeborgen wordt zonder gebruikt te worden, hoort u de

accu elke 3-4 maanden op te laden. Zo wordt de levensduur van de accu

verlengd

Het bevestigen van boor bits en accessoires

WAARSCHUWING: Neem de accu uit de machine voordat u accessoires

bevestigt, verstelt of ontkoppeld

WAARSCHUWING: Vergrendel accessoires niet doormiddel van het vastpakken

van de boorhouder (8) en het inschakelen van de machine. Dit resulteert

mogelijk in persoonlijk letsel en boorhouder beschadiging

WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik geen accessoires met een onbelaste snelheid,

lager dan de onbelaste snelheid van de machine

1. Open de boorhouder kaken (7) door de boorhouder (8) linksom te draaien

(boorhouder richting de gebruiker)

2. Plaats het boor bit/accessoire recht, in het midden van de boorhouder

3. Om de kaken te sluiten, draait u de boorhouder rechtsom

4. Controleer nadat het boor bit stevig vastgezet is, of het

gecentreerd is door de machine in te schakelen en op een lage snelheid te

laten draaien. Het boor bit moet zuiver draaien zonder te “slingeren”. Indien

het boor bit niet gecentreerd is, draait u de boorhouder los en plaatst u het

bit opnieuw in de boorhouder. Draai de boorhouder vervolgens weer vast is

aanbevolen.

Gebruik

Rotatierichtingscontrole

WAARSCHUWING: Verander de rotatierichting niet wanneer de machine is

ingeschakeld

• De rotatierichting kan veranderd worden met behulp van de rotatierichting

schakelaar (2)

• Voor een linkse rotatie duwt u de schakelaar naar rechts

• Voor een rechtse rotatie duwt u de schakelaar naar links

Let op: Wanneer de schakelaar in het midden staat is de boor vergrendeld.

Gebruik deze stand als veiligheidsfunctie om accidentele inschakeling van de

machine te voorkomen

Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine

WAARSCHUWING: Draag de vereiste beschermende uitrusting bij het gebruik

van de machine

1. Om de machine te starten knijpt u de trekker schakelaar (5) in

1. Gebruik een schroevendraaier bit, passend bij de maat van de schroefkop

2. Oefen een gecontroleerde druk op de machine uit zodat het bit niet in

de schroefkop slipt en de schroefkop beschadigd. Het is aanbevolen te

oefenen, zodat de gebruiker vertrouwd raakt met de uit te oefenen druk bij

het in- en uitdraaien van schroeven

3. Knijp de trekker schakelaar (5) in voor een snellere rotatie. Bij een te hoge

rotatiesnelheid raken het schroef bit en de schroefkop mogelijk beschadigd

• Bij het indraaien van een kleine schroef met een grove schroefdraad,

houdt u de rotatiesnelheid laag. Laat de trekker schakelaar los wanneer de

schroef volledig is ingedraaid

• Bij het indraaien van een lange schroef met een ﬁjne schroefdraad, houdt u

de rotatiesnelheid hoog totdat de schroef bijna volledig is ingedraaid

• Bij het uitdraaien van schroeven houdt u een hoge rotatiesnelheid aan

• Wanneer een schroef volledig is ingedraaid laat u de trekker schakelaar los

zodat u het schroef bit en de schroefkop niet beschadigd en de motor niet

afslaat

• Als de motor afslaat, schakelt de stroom- of temperatuurbescherming

in waardoor de machine voor een aantal minuten niet ingeschakeld kan

worden

• De machine vereist mogelijk een bit houder voor het gebruik op lastige

plekken

• Zorg ervoor dat de trekker schakelaar te allen tijde gemakkelijk bediend

kan worden en niet wordt beperkt

• Houdt de machine wanneer mogelijk te allen tijde met beide handen vast,

zeker bij het uitoefen van grote druk om het schroef bit in de schroefkop te

houden

• Wanneer het werkstuk niet genoeg verlicht wordt door het werklicht, of

wanneer het werklicht geblokkeerd wordt, gebruikt u een extra lichtbron

• De ventilatiegaten (1) mogen niet bedekt worden

• Oefen het gebruik van de machine om schade aan het werkstuk, schroeven

en bits te minimaliseren

Het los- en vastdraaien van bouten en moeren

Het verwijderen van bouten: Ontgrendel de bout met behulp van een

WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor hoge koppel doeleinden

WAARSCHUWING: Ben voorzichtig bij het gebruik van de machine in motors of

gelijksoortige plekken. Hete onderdelen en/of vloeistoffen kunnen de machine

beschadigen. Wanneer het verwijderen van een bout of moer kan resulteren in

het vrijgeven van vloeistof, stopt u de machine. Draai de bout of moer met de

hand verder los

Boren

WAARSCHUWING: De machine is voorzien van ventilatiegaten (1) aan beide

zijden van de behuizing. De hitte van de motor kan zo ontsnappen en mag

niet geblokkeerd worden. De machine schakelt mogelijk vanzelf uit door

de inschakeling van de oververhittingsbescherming. Dankzij het ontwerp

en gebruiksdoel in op nauwe plekken word de machine meer blootgesteld

aan zaagsel en stof, wat resulteert in beschadiging wanneer deze de

ventilatiegaten binnendringen.

Een tweede beschadigingsrisico is de ingang van metaaldeeltjes.

Maak het werkgebied schoon. Gebruik een stofzuiger voor het verwijderen van

stof, zaagsel en boordeeltjes.

Het boren in hout

WAARSCHUWING: Inhaleer zaagsel niet. Draag de geschikte

ademhalingsbescherming. Sommige houtzaagselsoorten zijn mogelijk giftig

• Zorg ervoor dat de boor bits geschikt zijn voor hout en binnen de maximale

capaciteit van de machine vallen (Zie: speciﬁcaties)

• •Er zijn vele boor bit typen, geschikt voor het boren in hout. Zorg ervoor dat

u het juiste type boor bit gebruikt voor het uit te voeren werk

• Bij het gebruik van schroeven met een platte kop, gebruikt u na het boren

u een verzinkboor. Forceer de schroef niet in het werk, dit kan het hout

beschadigen

• Om het splijten van het hout te voorkomen, klemt u een stuk afvalhout op

het werkstuk waar de boor uit het werkstuk komt

• Op nauwe plekken begint u met een kleinere centreerboor waarna u de

juiste boor maat gebruikt

• Op moeilijk zichtbare plekken gebruikt u een dieptestop op de boor voor

het bereiken van de gewenste boordiepte

• Het onderzoeken van het hout type helpt bij het verkrijgen van de beste

resultaten

Het boren van metaal

• Zorg ervoor dat de boor bits geschikt zijn voor het te boren metaal en

binnen de maximale capaciteit van de machine vallen (Zie: speciﬁcaties)

• Markeer de positie van het te boren gat met gebruik van een hamer en

een priem

WAARSCHUWING: Het boor bit en het werkstuk worden tijdens het boren erg

warm. Raak het boor bit niet aan en het bit mag niet in contact komen met

onbrandbare materialen. Gebruik een geschikt smeer- of koelmiddel en boor

op een geschikte snelheid

• Oefen een lichte druk op de machine uit voor efﬁciënt boren en langdurig

bit gebruik

• Gebruik een verzinkboor om scherpe randen van het gat te verwijderen

• Zorg ervoor dat boor stof de ventilatiegaten (1) van de machine niet binnen

gaat

Accessoires

• Verschillende T12 accessoires, als de T12B 1,5 Ah accu, T12HCB 3 Ah accu

en T12FC240 oplader zijn verkrijgbaar via uw Triton handelaar. Alle Triton

T12 machines gebruiken dezelfde accu’s en opladers. Het aanschaffen

van meerder accu’s en opladers vergroot uw mogelijkheden bij grote

doe-het-zelf projecten

Onderhoud

• De machine bestaat uit hoogwaardige componenten en maakt gebruik van

een intelligente stroomkring, wat de machine onderdelen beschermt. Bij

normaal gebruik dient de machine lang mee te gaan

Schoonmaak

• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof kunnen de interne

onderdelen snel doen slijten en zo de levensduur van de machine

verminderen. Maak de behuizing van de machine met een zachte borstel of

een droge doek schoon. Blaas wanneer mogelijk droge perslucht door de

ventilatiegaten van de machine.

Opberging

• Berg de machine en accessoires op een droge en veilige plaats, buiten het

bereik van kinderen op

Verwijdering

Bij de verwijdering van elektrische machines neemt u de nationale

voorschriften in acht.

• Elektrische apparaten en accu’s mogen niet met uw huishoudelijk afval

worden weggegooid

• Neem contact op met uw gemeente voor informatie betreffende de

verwijdering van elektrisch gereedschap en accu’s

Sécurité sur la zone de travail

a) Maintenir une zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Des zones

encombrées et mal éclairées sont sources d’accidents.

b) Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des environnements

explosifs, tels qu’à proximité de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières

inﬂammables. Les appareils électriques produisent des étincelles

susceptibles d’enﬂammer la poussière ou les vapeurs présentes.

c) Eloigner les enfants et les passants pendant l’utilisation d’un

appareil électrique. Ceux-ci peuvent provoquer une perte d’attention et

faire perdre la maîtrise de l’appareil.

Sécurité électrique

a) La prise d’un appareil électrique doit être adaptée à la prise du

secteur. Ne jamais modiﬁer la prise en aucune façon. Ne jamais

utiliser d’adaptateur sur la prise électrique d’appareil mis à la terre.

Des prises non modiﬁées, adaptées aux boîtiers de prise de courant,

réduiront le risque de décharge électrique.

b) Eviter le contact corporel avec les surfaces mises à la terre telles

que tuyaux, radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risque de

décharge électrique est plus important si le corps est mis à la terre.

c) Ne pas exposer l’appareil électrique à la pluie ou à l’humidité.

L’inﬁltration d’eau dans un appareil électrique accroît le risque de

décharge électrique.

d) Ne pas maltraiter le cordon électrique. Ne jamais utiliser le cordon

électrique pour porter, tirer ou débrancher l’appareil. Protéger le cordon

électrique de la chaleur, du contact avec l’essence, des bords tranchants

et pièces rotatives. Un cordon électrique endommagé ou entortillé accroît le

risque de décharge électrique.

e) Lors d’une utilisation de l’appareil électrique en extérieur, se servir

d’une rallonge appropriée à une utilisation en extérieur. Cela réduit le

risque de décharge électrique.

f) Si une utilisation de l’appareil électrique dans un environnement

humide ne peut être évitée, utiliser une alimentation protégée par un

disjoncteur différentiel. L’utilisation d’un disjoncteur différentiel réduit le

risque de décharge électrique.

Sécurité des personnes

a) Rester vigilent et faire preuve de bon sens lors de la manipulation

de l’appareil. Ne pas utiliser un appareil électrique lorsque l’on

se trouve dans un état de fatigue, ou sous l’inﬂuence de drogues,

d’alcool ou de médicaments. Un moment d’inattention pendant

l’utilisation d’un outil électrique peut se traduire par des blessures graves.

b) Porter un équipement de protection approprié. Toujours porter une

protection oculaire. Le port de masque à poussières, chaussures de

sécurité antidérapantes, casque de sécurité et protections antibruit

adaptés aux différentes conditions de travail réduit le risque de blessures

corporelles.

c) Eviter tout démarrage accidentel ou intempestif. S’assurer que

l’interrupteur marche-arrêt soit en position d’arrêt avant de

brancher l’appareil sur l’alimentation secteur ou d’installer la

batterie, de prendre l’appareil ou de le transporter. Porter un appareil

électrique tout en maintenant le doigt posé sur l’interrupteur ou brancher

un appareil électrique dont l’interrupteur est sur la position de marche est

source d’accidents.

d) Enlever toute clé et tout instrument de réglage avant de mettre

l’appareil électrique en marche. Une clé ou un instrument de réglage

laissé ﬁxé à un élément en rotation de l’appareil électrique peut entraîner

des blessures physiques.

e) Ne pas essayer d’atteindre une zone hors de portée. Se tenir toujours

en position stable permettant de conserver l’équilibre. Cela permet de

mieux contrôler l’appareil électrique dans des situations inattendues.

f) Porter des vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter de vêtements amples

ou des bijoux pendants. Eloigner cheveux, vêtements et gants des

pièces en mouvement. Les vêtements amples, les bijoux pendants et

cheveux longs peuvent être happés par les pièces en rotation.

g) Si l’appareil est pourvu de dispositifs destinés au raccord

d’équipements d’extraction et de récupération de la poussière/sciure,

s’assurer qu’ils soient bien ﬁxés et utilisés correctement. L’utilisation de

ces dispositifs peut réduire les risques dus à la poussière.

Utilisation et entretien des appareils électriques

a) Ne pas forcer sur l’appareil électrique. Utiliser l’appareil électrique

approprié au travail à effectuer. Un appareil électrique adapté et

employé au rythme pour lequel il a été conçu permettra de réaliser un

travail de meilleure qualité et dans de meilleures conditions de sécurité.

b) Ne pas utiliser un appareil électrique dont l’interrupteur marche-

arrêt est hors service. Tout appareil électrique dont la commande ne

s’effectue plus par l’interrupteur marche-arrêt est dangereux et doit être

réparé.

c) Débrancher l’appareil électrique ou démonter sa batterie avant

d’effectuer tout réglage ou changement d’accessoire et avant de le

ranger. De telles mesures préventives réduiront les risques de démarrage

accidentel.

d) Ranger les appareils électriques inutilisés hors de portée des

enfants et ne pas permettre l’utilisation de cet appareil aux

personnes non habituées à son maniement ou n’ayant pas lu les

présentes instructions. Les appareils électriques sont dangereux dans

les mains d’utilisateurs inexpérimentés.

e) Veiller à l’entretien des appareils électriques. Vériﬁer que les

éléments rotatifs soient bien alignés et non grippés. S’assurer de

l’absence de pièces cassées ou endommagées susceptibles de

nuire au bon fonctionnement de l’appareil. Si l’appareil électrique

est endommagé, le faire réparer avant toute utilisation. De nombreux

accidents sont dus à l’utilisation d’appareils électriques mal entretenus.

f) Veiller à ce que les outils de coupe soient tenus affûtés et propres. Des

outils de coupe bien entretenus, aux tranchants bien affûtés, sont moins

susceptibles de se gripper et sont plus faciles à contrôler.

g) Utiliser l’appareil électrique, les accessoires et outils à monter

conformément à ces instructions, en tenant compte des conditions

de travail et de la tâche à réaliser. Toute utilisation d’un appareil

électrique autre que celle pour laquelle il a été conçu peut entraîner des

situations à risque.

Utilisation et entretien des outils à batterie

a) Ne rechargez qu’avec le chargeur indiqué par le fabricant. Un

chargeur qui est adapté à un type de batterie pourrait causer un

incendie lorsqu’il est utilisé avec une autre batterie.

b) N’utilisez les outils électriques qu’avec les batteries désignées

spéciﬁquement. L’utilisation de toute autre batterie peut créer un

risque de blessures et d’incendie.

c) Lorsque la batterie n’est pas en utilisation, gardez-la éloignée de

tout objet métallique tel que trombone, pièce, clé, clou, vis et tout

autre petit objet métallique qui pourrait créer une connexion d’une

borne à l’autre. Court-circuiter les bornes de la batterie peut causer

des brulures ou un incendie.

En cas d’usage abusif, du liquide peut être éjecté de la batterie ;

évitez le contact. Si vous entrez accidentellement en contact avec

ce liquide, lavez à grande eau. Si le liquide entre en contact avec vos

yeux, sollicitez de l’aide médicale. Le liquide éjecté par la batterie

peut causer des irritations de la peau ou des brulures.

ATTENTION : Lorsque utilisé en Australie ou en Nouvelle Zélande, il est

recommandé que cet appareil soit toujours alimenté via un disjoncteur

différentiel ayant un courant résiduel de 30 mA ou moins.
