Power Requirements
Tools with double insulation and reinforced insulation are built
with a polarized plug (one prong is wider than the other) This plug fits in any
polarized outlet and can only be connected one way. If the plug does not fit
completely into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it is not fitting, call a qualified
electrician or install a polarized outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way. Double
insulation eliminates the need of a three-prong grounded power plug or a
grounded electric system.
When using an extension cable, verify the gauge is enough for the power that your product needs.
A lower gauge cable will cause voltage drop in the line, resulting in power loss and overheating. The following table
shows the right size to use depending on cable’s length and the ampere capability shown in the tool’s nameplate.
When in doubt use the next higher gauge.

Work area
Keep your work area clean, and well lit.
Cluttered and dark areas may cause accidents.
Never use the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Sparks generated by power tools may ignite the flammable material.
Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating
the tool.
Distractions may cause loosing control.
Electrical Safety
The tool plug must match the power outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with
grounded power tools.
Modified plugs and different power outlets increase the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, electric ranges and refrigerators.
The risk of electric shock increases if your body is grounded.
Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering into the tool increases the risk of electric shock.
Do not force the cord. Never use the cord to carry, lift or unplug
the tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable
for outdoor use.
Using an adequate outdoor extension cord reduces the risk of electric shock.
If operating the tool in a damp location cannot be avoided, use
a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected supply.
Using a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense
when operating a tool. Do not use a power tool while you are
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of distraction while operating the tool may result in personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye
protection.
Protective equipment such as safety glasses, anti-dust mask, non-skid shoes,
hard hats and hearing protection used in the right conditions significantly
reduce personal injury.
Prevent unintentional starting up. Ensure the switch is in the
“OFF” position before connecting into the power source and /
or battery as well as when carrying the tool.
Transporting power tools with the finger on the switch or connecting power
tools with the switch in the “ON” position may cause accidents.
Remove any wrench or vice before turning the power tool on.
Wrenches or vices left attached to rotating parts of the tool may result in personal
injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
This enables a better control on the tool during unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep
hair, clothes and gloves away from the moving parts.
Loose clothes or long hair may get caught in moving parts.
If you have dust extraction and recollection devices connected
onto the tool, inspect their connections and use them correctly.
Using these devices reduce dust-related risks.
Power Tools Use and Care
Do not force the tool. Use the adequate tool for your
application.
The correct tool delivers a better and safer job at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the tool if the switch is not working properly.
Any power tool that cannot be turned ON or OFF is dangerous and should be
repaired before operating.
Disconnect the tool from the power source and / or battery
before making any adjustments, changing accessories or
storing.
These measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the tool.
Store tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons
that are not familiar with the tool or its instructions to
operate the tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Service the tool. Check the mobile parts are not misaligned or
stuck. There should not be broken parts or other conditions that
may affect its operation. Repair any damage before using the
tool.
Most accidents are caused due to poor maintenance to the tools.
Keep the cutting accessories sharp and clean.
Cutting accessories in good working conditions are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
Use the tool, components and accessories in accordance with
these instructions and the projected way to use it for the type of
tool when in adequate working conditions.
Using the tool for applications different from those it was designed for, could
result in a hazardous situation.
Service
Repair the tool in a Authorized Service Center
using only identical spare parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Safety warnings for the use
of drill bit sharpeners
• Never try to use sharpening stones whose
diameter is larger than the corresponding size of the tool.
• Use only sharpening stones or accessories with a hole
corresponding to the tool shaft.
• Never use damaged or malfunctioning
sharpening stones.
Use the appropriate sharpening stone
• Check that the cover is in good
condition and tightly screwed on. Do not use the tool
without the cover.
• Make sure the switch is turned off before
turning on the tool, otherwise the tool will start to operate
unexpectedly, which may cause serious injury.
• Check that the sharpening stone rotates
freely.
• Do not over-tighten the sharpening stone, otherwise it
may break.
Before operating the sharpener
• Do not turn on the tool while the sharpening
stone is in contact with a drill bit.
• If a small part becomes trapped inside the
housing immediately turn the tool off, unplug it from the
power outlet and wait for all moving parts to come to a
complete stop before attempting to remove the trapped part.
While operating the sharpener
• This sharpener works only for 118° drill
bits (It is advisable to check the marking on your drill bit
or the manufacturer's specifications to confirm the angle it
has). Attempting to sharpen bits with any other angle will
result in damage to the bit and sharpening stone.
Indicated Drill Bits
• The stone is for sharpening HSS and
carbon steel drills. Attempting to sharpen bits made of
any other material or with special tips will result in
damage to the bit and the tool.

Drill Bits
• This sharpener works for 118°bits
only. Attempting to sharpen bits with any other angle
will cause damage to the bit and sharpening stone.

WARNING
1. Turn the knob (A) counterclockwise towards the
DOWN direction to set the stone in its lower position.
2. Insert the worn bit into the hole corresponding to its
diameter (B).
Inside each hole there are two guides (B1) so that the
cutting edge of the bit is aligned with the edge of the
stone. Slightly rotate the drill bit inside the hole until it fits
into the guides
3. Install the switch to the ON ( I ) position so that the
stone starts to rotate.
4. Turn the knob clockwise (towards the UP direction)
while holding the bit with your hand, until you hear the
grinding sound.
5. Hold the drill bit firmly while making contact with the
stone for 10 seconds.
6. Remove the bit and turn it 180°.
7. Insert the bit again 10 more seconds to sharpen the
second edge.
• If necessary, repeat the operation until both edges are
sharp.
• Set the switch in the Off position ( ) to stop the stone.
• Turn the knob counterclockwise (towards the DOWN)
position) to set the stone in its lowest position (A).
• Always start the sharpening process with
the stone in it lowest position. Do not operate the
equipment with the stone in its highest position without
any bit inserted in one of the orifices, otherwise the cover
may get damaged.

Maintenance
• Keep the tool free of dust. Never use water or chemical
cleansers to clean the machine. Clean it with compressed
air after each use.
• Always keep the vents clean and free of obstructions to
guarantee the adequate cooling of the motor.
• Inspect regularly all the mounting screws and make sure
are correctly tightened. If any of the screws is loose, tight
immediately.
Disconnect the power cord from the outlet
before making any adjustment, service or maintenance to
the tool. Tool service should only be performed at a
Authorized Service Center. Service
and maintenance by unqualified persons can be
dangerous and may result in personal injury and
invalidate the product warranty.
Cleaning And Care
Change of Grinding Stone
Service
With the passing of time the grinding stone will wear out
or could show fissures affecting the right sharpening.
Change it whenever necessary following these steps:
• Loosen the cover screws and remove it (A).
• Remove the stone assembly (B).
• Unscrew the nut (C) and remove the washer (D) to
release the stone (E).
• Set a new sharpening stone (not included) with the
flat side against the support (F) and set the washer (D)
back.
• Tighten the nut (C).
• Set the support (F) of the stone with precision on top
of the spring (G). The sharpener axis (H) shall match
with the support cavity, otherwise even you succeed to
assemble the cover, when turning ON the sharpener,
the plastic housing will be damaged.
• Screw the cover back in place.

Troubleshooting
If problems persist despite performing the recommended corrective actions,
contact a Authorized Service Center.
• Make sure the equipment is connected.
• Check the operation process in page 7.
• Replace the sharpening stone as indicated in page 8.
• The bit must match the corresponding hole.

Solución de problemas

Si los problemas persisten a pesar de realizar las acciones correctivas recomendadas,
contacte a un Centro de Servicio Autorizado .
• Asegúrese de que el equipo está conectado.
• Revise el proceso de operación de la página 7.
• Reemplace la piedra de afilado como se indica en la
página 8.
• La broca debe coincidir con el orificio correspondiente.
El equipo no
enciende.
Afilado deficiente.
• No hay suministro eléctrico.
• Piedra gastada.
• Mala técnica de afilado.
• La medida de la broca no
corresponde a la medida del
orificio marcado en la carcasa.

Mantenimiento
• Mantenga la herramienta libre de polvo. Nunca utilice
agua o limpiadores químicos para limpiarla. Límpiela con
aire comprimido después de cada uso.
• Siempre mantenga las ventilas limpias y libres de
obstrucciones para garantizar un enfriamiento adecuado
del motor.
• Inspeccione regularmente todos los tornillos de montaje
y asegúrese de que estén apretados correctamente. En
caso de que alguno de los tornillos esté suelto, apriételo
inmediatamente.
Desconecte el cable de alimentación
del tomacorriente antes de hacer cualquier ajuste, servicio o
mantenimiento a la herramienta. El servicio de las herramientas debe ser realizado
únicamente en un Centro de Servicio Autorizado
. El servicio y mantenimiento
realizado por personas no calificadas puede resultar
peligroso y llegar a ocasionar daños personales además
de invalidar la garantía del producto.

ADVERTENCIA
Con el transcurso del tiempo, la piedra de afilar se
desgastará, o podría presentar fisuras afectando el
afilado. Cámbiela cuando sea necesario siguiendo
estos pasos:
• Afloje los tornillos de la cubierta y retírela (A).
• Retire el montaje de la piedra (B).
• Desatornille la tuerca (C) y retire la arandela (D) para
liberar la piedra (E).
• Coloque una nueva piedra de afilar (no incluida) con
el lado plano contra el soporte (F) y coloque la arandela
(D) nuevamente.
• Apriete la tuerca (C).
• Coloque con precisión el soporte (F) de la piedra
sobre el resorte (G). El eje del afilador (H) debe
coincidir con la cavidad del soporte, de lo contrario,
aunque logre ensamblar la tapa, al encender el afilador
se dañará la carcasa plástica.
• Atornille bien la cubierta.

Brocas
• Este afilador funciona
únicamente para brocas de 118°. Intentar afilar brocas
de cualquier otro ángulo provocaría daños en la broca
y en la piedra de afilado.
ADVERTENCIA
B1
1. Gire la perilla (A) en sentido opuesto a las manecillas
del reloj (hacia la dirección DOWN), para colocar la piedra
en su posición más baja.
2. Introduzca la broca gastada en el orificio
correspondiente a su diámetro (B).
Al interior de cada orificio hay dos guías (B1) para que el
borde de corte de la broca quede alineado al canto de la
piedra. Gire ligeramente la broca dentro del orificio hasta
que calce en las guías.
3. Coloque el interruptor en la posición de encendido ( I )
para que la piedra comience a girar.
4. Gire la perilla en sentido de las manecillas del reloj
(hacia la dirección UP) mientras sostiene con la mano la
broca, hasta que escuche el sonido de desbaste.
5. Sostenga firmemente la broca mientras se hace el
contacto con la piedra por 10 segundos.
6. Retire la broca y gírela 180°.
7. Introduzca la broca de nuevo para afilar el segundo
borde de corte por otros 10 segundos.
• De ser necesario repita la operación hasta que ambos
bordes de corte estén afilados.
• Coloque el interruptor en la posición de apagado ( )
para detener la piedra.
• Gire la perilla en sentido opuesto a las manecillas del
reloj (hacia la dirección DOWN), para colocar la piedra en
su posición más baja (A).
• Siempre comience el proceso de
afilado con la piedra en su posición más baja. No opere el
equipo con la piedra en la posición más alta sin una broca
insertada en uno de sus orificios, o de lo contrario la
cubierta puede sufrir daños.

Advertencias de Seguridad
para uso de afiladores de brocas
ESPAÑOL
• Nunca intente utilizar piedras de
afilado cuyo diámetro sea mayor al tamaño correspondien-
te de la herramienta.
• Utilice únicamente piedras de afilado o accesorios con el
orificio correspondiente al eje de la herramienta.
• Nunca utilice piedras de afilado
dañadas o en mal estado.
Utilice la piedra de afilado apropiada
• Revise que la cubierta esté en
buen estado y bien atornillada. No se debe usar la
herramienta sin su cubierta.
• Asegúrese que el interruptor esté
apagado antes de conectar la herramienta, de lo contrario
ésta comenzará a funcionar inesperadamente, pudiendo
provocar lesiones graves.
• Verifique que la piedra de afilado
gire libremente.
• No apriete demasiado la piedra de afilado, de lo
contrario podría romperse.
Antes de operar el afilador
• No encienda la herramienta cuando
la piedra de afilado esté en contacto con alguna broca.
• Si una pieza pequeña queda
atrapada dentro de la carcasa apague inmediatamente la
herramienta, desconéctela del tomacorriente y espere a
que todas sus partes móviles se detengan por completo
antes de intentar retirar la pieza atrapada.

únicamente para brocas de 118° (Se aconseja revisar el
marcado de su broca o las especificaciones del fabricante
para confirmar el ángulo que tiene). Intentar afilar brocas
de cualquier otro ángulo provocaría daños en la broca y
en la piedra de afilado.
