Radio Signal Indicator

Overlook
Broadband indicator of radio signals BIK 01AM
(hereinafter - the product) is designed to detect and
determine the location of different signal sources
(GSM, DECT, BT, WF, WM, etc.), distinguishing
between continuous and pulsed signals, and to
roughly estimate their radiation power. The product
is equipped with a built-in economy LED ashlight.
It is small in size and weight, providing long-term
operation from just one battery.

Operating the Device
Power Voltage Testing and Battery Replacement
At each powering the device check power
supply status (CR2032 lithium battery) which is
displayed on the indicator within 2 seconds. With
a battery fully charged there are 5 LEDs on, and
while discharging their number decreases. Deep
discharge is indicated by a red LED stating that
virbo mode can not be enabled, but in the other
modes the device can operate for ~ 30 hours. To
replace battery, remove the two screws as well
as the cover of the product. Push the battery out
of the retaining clamp and install the new one with
the correct polarity (plus at the top). Turn the power
on and make sure the battery is not discharged,
as shown on the indicator. Turn off the power, put
the cover back on and tighten the two screws. The
product is ready for further use.

Signal Detection Mode
The product provides three display modes when it
detects a signal:
• silent - red LED is ashing: single pulses of
256 ms and pulse repetition cycle of 512ms
when receiving continuous signals and double
pulses with total duration of 256ms and
repetition cycle of 512ms when taking the
pulse signals;
• sound - intermittent signal of 4 kHz;
• vibration - vibration of the product’s case
(Warning! Battery is discharged quickly!).
When powering the mode previously selected is
set. To select a mode, you need to briey (less
than 1 sec) press, release, press again and hold
it. While this every 2 seconds the modes will
switch periodically: silent (switches between green
and red LEDs), sound (intermittent signal of 4
kHz), vibration (intermittent vibration of the case).
Release the button on the desired mode that will be
saved up to the new installation. When receiving a
signal in sound or vibration mode the indication can
be disabled until receiving has been completed by
briey pressing the button.

Searching for Radio Signal Source
To set the mode of searching for radio signal source,
double-click the button briey.
In this case, left green LED will be ashing without
any signal. When the source of signal appears and
as approaching it, the number of LEDs will increase,
with each signal light ashing and then staying on
all the time. Repeated short pressing of the button
switches the product to detection mode.
Evaluation of Radio Signal Strength
Place the product in search mode in 50 cm from the
signal source and according to the digital scale (-10-
40 dB / mW) evaluate radiation power, considering:
-10dBm ..... 100mW,
0 dBm ......... 1 mW,
10dBm ...... 10mW,
20dBm ...... 100mW,
30dBm ....... 1W
40dBm ....... 10W.
If the LED above gure is ashing, the power is
equal to 0.3 of the one marked on the scale (eg, the
LED is ashing above 20dBm - the power is about
30mW).

Use of LED ashlight
To activate ashlight, press and hold the button until
white LED light is on the end of the case and the
subsequent double increase in brightness every 2s.
Release the button at the desired brightness. To
avoid wasting battery capacity it is recommended to
set minimum light intensity. To turn off the ashlight
push the button shortly.

Warranty
The warranty period for the product is 1 year from
the date of sale. Claims under the warranty will not
be accepted in case of:
- No signature and seal on the document;
- Incompleteness of the product;
- Damage to the case, printed circuit board and
elements on it.
- High-power SHF exposure
Issues related to the return and exchange are
resolved in accordance with the Law «On Protection
of Consumers' Rights».
