essenal that this manual be read by the contractor before installing and commissioning the system, as well as by

outlined in other secons must also be observed.

Qualification and Training of Personnel
The personnel employed for installaon, operaon, inspecon, and maintenance, must be suitably qualied for
this work. The areas of responsibility, competence and supervision of the personnel must be precisely dened
by the owner. Personnel who do not have the required know-how must be trained and instructed. In addion,
the owner of the system must ensure that the relevant personnel are fully familiar with and have understood the
contents of this manual. Should training be required please contact your Turtle Tough distributor

Installation, Maintenance and Inspection
The owner must ensure that all maintenance, inspecon and installaon work is undertaken by
authorised and duly qualied personnel who have also studied this manual.
• Sensors must always by isolated before starng any work.
• Please be aware that the connected sensor(s) and the associated analyser may be controlling
chemical dosing and as such shung down the unit without due regard to the systems it is
controlling can lead to chemical release.
Impermissible Modes of Operation
Usage other than as described in this manual will lead to the immediate cancellaon of the warranty
and any other manufacturer’s liability.

Chemicals
Should the sensor(s) be in contact with hazardous chemicals, great care must be taken when handling
them.

Congratulaons on purchasing a Turtle Tough TT-MA-DSS Display Module. Turtle Tough sensors are handmade
with care and precision, combining state-of-the-art technology and materials to deliver superior performance
under extreme condions. The TT-MA-DSS Display Module has been specically developed to achieve the
opmum performance from your Turtle Tough Digital Sensor.
This instrucon manual provides informaon for the correct installaon and use of a Turtle Tough TT-MA-DSS
Display Module to ensure you get the maximum life and performance.
Through our experience in the world’s toughest applicaons, we have developed systems that have been
opmised for high hydrouoric acid, saturated sodium, high sulphide, organic solvents, high temperature and
slurry/viscous applicaons. Our applicaon-specic sensors include industrial, wastewater, acid etching, Nickel,
Gold, Titanium Dioxide, Food and Beverage and Pharmaceucal.

Main Features

The TT-MA-DSS supports all of the common liquid analycal electrochemical measurements parameters of pH,
ORP, dissolved oxygen (D.O.), ion-selecve (ISE) and conducvity. Scanning feature nds node address of sensor
with the parameters automacally loaded for measurement type allowing for a single universal transmier to be
stocked for any potenal electrochemical measurement of interest at facility thereby reducing both inventory and
training costs.

TT-MA-DSS interfaces smart digital DSS MODBUS RTU sensors via 100% digital communicaons for signal
integrity even in noisy areas. Integral smart sensor board provides temperature compensaon & stores calibraons.
Total cable lengths to 300 meters for conducvity & 1,000 meters for pH, ORP, ISE & DO sensors with waterproof
snap connector.

TT-MA-DSS provides scalable, proporonal reversible 4-20mA or 0-20mA analogue current loop output for any
mang connected sensor input. Minimum scaling down to 2% of the full range input of sensor allowing for a very
high-resoluon signal to be sent to the mang analogue input device. Analogue output is galvanically isolated
from input with a 3KV rated optocoupler.
