Installaon steps:
1. Choose a locaon to place the hour meter where the pick-up wire will reach to the ignion
coil wire. Make sure there is at least 6 inches extra to wrap the pick-up wire around the
ignion coil wire. DO NOT MOUNT THE METER WHERE THE SURFACE EXCEEDS 125°F
2. Loop the pick-up wire through the two holes on the hour meter (see gure 1).
3. If you choose to mount the hour meter with the screws, use a 7/64” drill bit to drill the holes
(see gure 2). DO NOT DRILL INTO GAS TANK, FRAME, or ENGINE CASE. *mounng bracket
sold separately*
4. Starng from the hour meter (aer it is mounted), secure the wire with zip es down to the
ignion coil to ensure it does not get pinched or caught on moving parts while the machine is
in operaon.
5. Wrap the pick-up wire around the ignion coil wire 5-10 mes and secure it with a zip e (see
gure 3). If your engine has a pencil/sck type ignion coil, wrap the pick-up wire around the
dust boot of the coil where it is secured to the spark plug (see gure 4). Test the installaon
by starng the engine and checking the hour meter display. The hourglass icon on the display
will be blinking if installed correctly.
