Congratulaons!
You’ve taken the rst step toward the TV Ears television experience. The TV Ears TV is a
32” Hi-Denion LCD television with a built in transmier to wirelessly send audio to the
included TV Ears headset. TV Ears TV comes with a color-coded big buon TV Ears Remote
that can program up to 30 of your favorite channels and will work with cable or satellite
set top boxes. TV Ears TV even shuts o when you fall asleep! Instead of programming
a built in shut o mer the TV Ears TV shuts o aer four hours of inacvity; perfect for
when you have le the house or fallen asleep. TV Ears proprietary Voice Clarifying Circuitry
makes dicult to hear words and dialogue “jump out” making television dialogue easier to
understand.

product shall not be treated as household waste. Please dispose of this equipment at your

for used electrical and electronic product. By ensuring the correct disposal of this product,

would void the user’s authority to operate this device.

1. Read these instrucons completely.
2. Keep these instrucons for future reference.
3. Heed all warnings.
4. Follow all instrucons.
5. Do not use this apparatus near water - Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing
and no objects lled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. Do not use
immediately aer moving from a low temperature to high temperature environment, as this
causes condensaon, which may result in re, electric shock, or other hazards.
6. Venlaon - Do not block any venlaon openings on the back of the TV. Install in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instrucons.
7. Heat sources - Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
apparatus (including ampliers) that produce heat. Do not install your TV close to smoke.
8. Grounding or Polarizaon - Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has
two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your
safety. If the provided plug does not t into your outlet, purchase the correct adapter or consult
an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
9. Power Cord Protecon - Protect the power cord from being walked on or pitched parcularly at
plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
NOTE: Where the main plug or appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect
device shall remain readily operable.
10. Aachments - Only use aachments / accessories specied by the manufacturer. Do not use
aachments not recommended by the manufacturer. Use of improper aachments can result in
accidents.
11. Stand - Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specied by the manufacturer
or sold with the apparatus. When mounng the product on a wall, be sure to follow the
manufacturer’s instrucons. Use only the mounng hardware recommended by the
manufacturer.
12. Move Carefully - When a cart is used, use with cauon when moving the cart/apparatus
combinaon to avoid injury from p-over. Never aempt to move the TV unless the power cord
has been disconnected.

13. Lightning - Unplug the apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for a long period of
me. This will prevent damage to the equipment due to lightning and power-line surges.
14. Servicing - Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as the power-supply cord or plug is damaged,
liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed
to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
NOTE: Taking this apparatus to a non-authorized service professional will void your warranty.
15. Replacement Parts - When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has
used replacement parts specied by the manufacturer or have the same characteriscs as the
original part. Unauthorized substuons may result in re, electric shock, or other hazards. Any
parts used not authorized by the manufacturer will void your warranty.
16. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or convenience receptacles on other
equipment as this can result in a risk of re or electric shock.
17. Entering of Objects and Liquids - Never insert an object into the product through vents or
openings. High voltage ows in the product and inserng an object can cause electric shock and/
or short internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.
18. Damage Requiring Service - If any of the following condions occurs, unplug the power
cord from the power outlet, and refer to a qualied service professional under the following
condions:
19. Safety Checks – Upon compleon of service or repair work, request the service technician to
perform safety checks to ensure that the product is in proper operang condion.

Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operang instrucons as an
improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage,

6. When the product exhibits a disnct change in performance – this indicates a
need for service.

Safety Instrucons
20. Wall or Ceiling Mounng – When mounng the product on a wall or ceiling, be sure to install the
product according to the method recommended by the manufacturer. Only use wall or ceiling
mounngs approved for holding specied TV size.
21. Power Source – This product is intended to be supplied by a listed power supply indicated on
the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult the
product dealer or local power company. When the unit has to be used with another power
supply voltage, the power cable must be changed. The socket outlet should be installed near the
equipment and easily accessible. Use only the power cord designated by our dealer to ensure
safety and EMC.
When connecng other products such as VCRs and personal computers, you should turn o the
power of the unit for protecon against electronic shock.
22. Panel Protecon – The LCD panel used in this product is made of glass. Therefore, it can break
when the product is dropped or impacted upon by other objects. Be careful not to be injured by
broken glass pieces in case the LCD panel breaks.
Headset Warnings: Do not remove baeries from the headset. Headset baeries are not customer
replaceable.
Headset Warning: TV Ears speakers, located in the ear p ends of the headset, emit a minimal
magnec eld. When used as indicated, TV Ears headsets should not cause magnec interference
with pacemakers or internal debrillators. The magnec eld strength of the speakers is less than 1
Gauss when within 1 inch (3 cm) of the pacemaker or internal debrillator. It is recommended that
the user keep the ear ps at least an inch away from any pacemaker or internal debrillator.
We have not had any customers indicate a problem using TV Ears in the presence of a pacemaker
or internal debrillator. We recommend not placing the ear p ends of the headsets (where the
speakers are) on your chest or directly in the vicinity of a pacemaker or debrillator. If you have
concerns, we recommend you contact your physician.

External Television Antenna Grounding
If an outside antenna, satellite dish or cable system is to be connected to the TV, make sure that the
antenna or cable system is electrically grounded to provide some protecon against voltage surges
and stac charges.
Arcle 810 of the Naonal Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPSA 70, provides informaon with regard to the
proper grounding of the mast and supporng structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna
discharge unit, size of the grounding conductors, locaon of antenna discharge unit, connecon to
grounding electrodes, and requirements of the grounding electrodes.
Lightning Protecon
For added protecon of the TV during a lightning storm of when it is le unaended or unused for
long periods of me, unplug the TV from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or Cable system.
Power Lines
Do not locate the antenna near overhead lights or power circuits or where it could fall into such
power lines or circuits.
Advisory of the Digital TV (DTV) Transion
The naonwide switch to digital television broadcasng was completed on June 12, 2009. Your
TV Ears HDTV is capable of receiving Digital Broadcasts and no Digital Converter Box is required.

1 | Front Panel Controls
Power TV Light - The light under the TV Ears name lights GREEN when powered on and RED
when powered o.
Remote Control Sensor - This sensor is used to receive commands from the remote controls.
2 | Top Panel Controls
POWER – Switch the HDTV on by pressing the buon once. Press the buon again to turn the
HDTV o.
MENU – Will bring the main menu on the screen.
CH +/- – Use these buons to step up or down the TV channels. When the On Screen Display
(OSD ) is acve, these buons funcon as up and down controls in the OSD menus.
VOL +/- – Use these buons to increase or decrease the speakers’ volume. When the OSD is
acve, these buons funcon as le and right controls in the OSD menus.
INPUT – Switch between sources.

Rear Inputs
HDMI Use HDMI ports with a HDMI cable to get the best picture quality.
Component Connect a video cable to the Y, Pb, & Pr ports and an audio cable to the Y-L & Y-R
ports.
Composite Connect a standard RCA cable to the Video, L & R ports.
S-Video Connect an S-video cable to the S-video port and an audio to the L & R ports.
Audio Connect to an antenna or digital cable for digital TV.

Navigates the on-screen menus and adjusts the system sengs to your
preference.
EXIT:
Clears all on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.
MENU:
Brings up the main menu to the screen.
TV:
Switches to TV source.
CCD:
Closed Caponed buon. Only works with TV input.
ZOOM:
Switches the picture size between wide cinema, normal & zoom.
FAV:
To use favorites mode, use the TV ears remote.

2 | Remote Control Setup
1. Remove the baery cover.
2. Insert AAA size baeries into the baery compartment of the remote. When inserng
the baeries, make sure that you match the (+) and (-) symbols on the baeries with the
(+) and (-) symbols inside the baery compartment.
3. Put the baery cover back on.
To prevent baery leakage which may result in bodily injury or damage to the remote:
• Install all baeries correctly and as marked on the remote control.
• Do not mix baeries (OLD and NEW or CARBON and ALKALINE, etc.).
• Remove baeries when the remote is not going to be used for a long me.
• Properly dispose of baeries in accordance with local laws and regulaons.

Headset Overview
| Baery and Pairing Light
The TV Ears headset has an LED light on the front that will illuminate when it is charging.
The light will go o aer the baery is fully charged and turn on again when the baery is
running low.
When the light rst goes on (indicang baery is low), the headset will have
approximately 30 minutes le of power.
Under normal condions, a fully charged baery should last about ve and a half hours or
more.
It should take no more than four hours to recharge a fully drained baery.
The headset will operate while it is plugged into an outlet.
| Using the TV EARS Headset
Turning on the headset | Turn the headset on. Aer it is turned on, the TV screen will say
“TV Ears Connected”.
Turning o the headset | Turn the headset o. Aer it is turned o, the TV screen will say
“TV Ears Disconnected”.
Walked too far away from TV | The headset will lose sound and the TV will say “ TV Ears
Disconnected”. (Depending on environment, the distance may vary.)
Walked back in range of TV signal | The headset will regain sound and the TV will say
“TV Ears Connected”.

Pairing Headset
If the headset is not paired, aempt to pair headset using instrucons below. The
headset should come paired out of the box & should pair when charged.
Step 1 | With the remote labeled “TV•EARS TV” press MENU.
Step 2 | Scroll down unl SETTINGS is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 3 | Scroll down unl TV Ears is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 4 | Scroll down unl PASSWORD is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 5 | Enter password (3277) and press ENTER.
Step 6 | Scroll down unl PAIR is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 7 | Turn on the headset.
Step 8 | A pop up will appear on your screen that says “TV Ears pairing…press
menu to exit”.
Step 9 | Once pairing is complete your TV will say “TV Ears Pair Success…”.

Wall Mounng
| Wall Mounng your TV Ears TV
Your TV Ears TV can be mounted on the wall. If you choose to mount your TV•EARS TV on
the wall, follow the instrucons below.
1. If the base has been aached, remove the base:
• Turn o TV and disconnect all cables from your TV•EARS TV.
• Place your TV•EARS TV face down on a so, at surface to prevent damaging
the screen.
• Remove the six (6) screws holding the stand neck to your TV•EARS TV.
2. Mount your TV•EARS TV to the wall.
• Read the instrucons that came with the specic mount to properly hang your
TV•EARS TV.
• Aach your TV•EARS TV to a wall mount (sold separately) using the mounng
holes in the back panel of your TV•EARS TV, in accordance with the TV mount
instrucons.
| Replace Stand on TV
1. Remove TV Ears TV from wall.
2. Place the TV Ears TV face down on a so, at surface to prevent damage to the screen.
3. Insert stand in TV.
4. Screw in the six (6) screws where designated to do so.

1. Plug the power cord into the port labeled AC IN on the back of the TV.
2. Plug the opposite end of the power cord into a standard electrical outlet or surge
protector.
| Antenna Connecon
1. Install antenna according to manufacturer’s instrucons.
2. Connect the antenna to the 75-ohm antenna plug labled RF IN on the back of the
TV.
3. In the source list, select TV.

1. Connect the video cable (yellow plug) to the video port of the device.
2. Connect the audio cables (white & red) to the le and right audio jacks of the
device.
3. Connect the video cable of the port labeled Video on the back of the TV.
4. Connect the audio cables to the ports labeled L & R on the back of the TV.
5. In the source list, select Composite.

1. Connect the S-Video plug to the S-Video port of the device.
2. Connect the audio cables (white & red) to the le and right audio jacks of the
device.
3. Connect the opposite end of the S-video plug to the port labeled S-Video on the
back of the TV.
4. Connect the audio cables to the ports labeled L & R on the back of the TV.
5. In the source list, select S-Video.

| Component Connecon
1. Connect the component cables (green, blue, & red) to the video ports (Y, Pb & Pr)
on the device.
2. Connect the audio cables (white & red) to the le and right audio jacks of the
device.
3. Connect the component cable to the ports labeled Y, Pb, & Pr (1 or 2) on the back
of the TV.
4. Connect the audio cables to the ports TV labeled L & R on the back of the TV.
5. In the source list, select Component (1 or 2).
